Ok, I decided to take a tour of the Ozona fruit brands and tried the Orange, Spearmint, Raspberry, and Cherry. First of all, these snuffs are exactly what they are advertised to be, fruit flavored foremost with a slight menthol kick. Each flavor was very true to its description and starts off with a distinct aroma of the said fruit. Expect a medium menthol blast after the initial intake. For me the aroma seemed to linger and hold its flavor in an evening or slighlty humid setting. Good for an after dinner treat or just before a late night stroll, not an all day snuff for me personally. With that said, these snuffs do deliver nicely and would be good for beginners or as a change up for the daily snuff user. The flavors will vary widely according to taste. I especially ejoyed the Spearmint and Orange. Orange reminding me somewhat of Fruity Pebbles breakfast cereal and Spearmint very much like the gum. No complaints, just be aware that you are purchasing a particular and distinctive fruit flavored snuff. Enjoy them in that context and they are a nice quality purchase. They are moist so be aware of this if you intend to use them for mixing. As for nicotine content, I can’t honestly say since I use so much snuff during the day its hard for me to discern the effect. Also, if you are very gentle with the dispensing cans and gently pry the lid off, they can be reused to load other snuffs since they have the quaint and convenient twist-a-hole feature on them.
I’m glad I found Ozona when I first started snuffing. They’re very good snuff for the beginner. I preferred this style of dispenser then, but I am now more partial to the pinch method now.
Yeah i dislike raspberry also, but comes refreshing from time to time.Quite a long time. Anyways i can’t get enough of Cherry, fantastic one.
foraging??? To me foraging means I’am starving. Picking wild fruit or picnicing with wild fruit means I’am enjoying. None the less sounds awesome.
Roderick wrote “I think you were spot on when you said “the whole plant effect”. With the Blueberry and the Raspberry you should get a totally natural wild fruit taste with a hint of raspberry/blueberry leaves, the bush they came from, summer grass and completely free of pesticides. They should hopefully, remind you of foraging for wild fruit straight from the bush. Sorry if that sounds a bit like a wine taster.” I generally love your snuffs. At least, the ones I’ve tried but with the Blueberry - I didn’t count on getting the whole plant - I just wanted Blueberry pie… and pie it aint. lol.
Give a man a blueberry and he will eat for a day, give him a blueberry bush and he will eat for a lifetime!
No. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. But he still needs dessert, and I’d rather eat the blueberry pie than the blueberry bush! But that’s just me.
Give a man a light and he’ll smoke for a day. Set a man on fire and he’ll smoke for the rest of his life LOL
give a man a fish he’ll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he’ll have to go get his fishing liscense.
Give a man cough medicine, he’ll stop coughing. Give a man bad raspberry snuff, it will remind him of cough medicine.
That’s a wrap!
Bigblue1 and i were talking about toque blueberry on the chat just now and i totally agree with the whole plant smell, but i must add that i get another smell as well, kind of like a graham cracker crust from a cheesecake i only smell it at the end so i guess it’s a aftertaste but i think its the base tobacco coming out. Anyway now i have a whole blueberry plant cheesecake to snuff (by the way toque blueberry is my absolute favorite so far)
crumbs of comfort gives me the graham scent too. I think it;s a great afterscent
yeah i get a little from coc but also the burnt hair, CoC is a complex yet simple snuff… i love it
I started snuffing with Ozona orange and raspberry. They aren’t bad but some things kept me from really getting into them. First being there is way too much menthol in there for me. Mostly just got a halls cough drop feeling and it really seemed to stuff up my nose more than unclogging it. Finally they didnt taste very real flavor-wise. The orange has a tic-tac ester orange flavor which to me was just fine i don’t mind fake orange much i guess. The raspberry (to me) has a cheap air freshener smell to it. I read the reviews on here some months before ordering Toque, and im much happier with the flavors they have. The blueberry to me has a fruity pebbles blast to it and its one of my favorites. I just ordered some blueberry menthol to see if i will like the Toque menthol better than Ozona. I could buy Ozona at all the local US tobacco shops, and have bought a 5g tin now and then through out the years, but it never offered enough enjoyment (both nicotine and/or flavor)for me to quit smoking. Spanish Gem initially had a bit of a cough drop smell to me but i think that was just the ammonia scent mixing with it. Because after a day or so it really developed into a rich complex natural taste and its definitely my favorite Toque now.
I’am happy that the snuff world has both real and artifical scents.Sometimes I maybe in the mood for the artifical scents. Oddly it isn’t the scent of the ozoona that turns me off it;s just that poschels don’t agree with me. They stuff me up like I put a plug in my nose. Oddly the only one I’ve tried that doesn’t is the president (go figure). I do hope they don’t get rid of the ozona because well they’re ones that some people really like. Sadly they are the only snuff I can find regularly here. Oh yeah the spearmint isn’t bad. It’s too candish for me to enjoy all the time but for some reason that one sits in my nose really well and doesn’t clog me at all.
I think grind is mad important. Some more coarse ground snuffs feel funnier in my nose.
I might be wrong here, but I believe the major difference in Poschl snuffs is their use of parafin wax as the homogenizer in their mainstream snuffs. I really enjoy some of the mainstream brands such as Presidents, Gleitshcher, Lowenpreisch, and Packards Club. They port port well for long term storage and still maintian a high degree of long term shelf life for niche markets which seem to keep them on hand along with with Ozona and McCchrystal brands in the USA.
I believe the US Pöschls are- President, Packards Club, Gawith Cola, Gawith Apricot, Ozona Orange Spearmint Cherry and Raspberry and Gletscher Prise
@ Abdrasath- I’ve seen how much you like cherry. But, I don’t think you will need to worry-it’s only the US that they are pulling out of. And, I really hope they rethink that.
Gletscher Prise and Ozona Spearmint certainly aren’t US only, as they are regular stock in Slovak tobbaco shops. I’ve seen Ozona cherry once, but that was my first snuff purchase ever. I bought Löwenprise and never seen the cherry ever since.
I don’t think Poschls have US only snuffs. In each country they sell small selection of their snuff which is actually similar everywhere with small differences. Ardrasath, don’t worry about the Cherry. It is also popular in Bulgaria. We have it in 10g tap box. Cherry 10g It’s much better. These small tins have too small hole. It takes some effort to tap out a good pile on the back of your hand.
