Ouch, my eyes!

Sometimes I find that when I’m blowing my nose - especially when I’m using coarser snuffs - some of the particles will travel up my…sinus tubes(?) and get into the corner of my eyes. Anybody else have this happen? If so, how do you go about preventing it?

That happened to me once when I first started but I don’t think it traveled up my sinuses. I just blew really hard and had my eyes open and some snuff deflected off my kleenex and into my eyes. It hurt like hell. My co-workers were quite amused. Now I make sure my eyes are closed if I have to blow my nose hard.

I have had that happen to me but it was the same as with crullers, it deflected off my hankie and went in my eye. That is most likely what happened to you as I seriously doubt snuff will travel up your sinuses into your eyes.

I like it up there. I also enjoy when it gets up in the ear canals.

That bounce back thing makes a Lot more sense than my original thought, thanks!

Well…it is possible. After all, there are people that can snort a liquid up their nose and shoot it out of their tear ducts.

I say get some water in there to loosen it up before blowing. just wet your pinky finger with water snuff it, both sides then blow.

I don’t know where all the snuff goes? that I take, when I blow only about 1/4 of the amount comes out. I more than likely digest the rest.

When I was a child ,under the water in a swimming pool I would blow bubbles out of my eyes on purpose. Stuart ‘’ look what I can do"

I haven’t had any snuff boogers fly into my eye while blowing, but I had some fresh snuff get in there when I accidentally dumped my tin all over the place. I think I’m with @Juxtaposer on this one, it was pretty fantastic…

I don’t get snuff in my eyes very often when I blow my nose…probably because I wear glasses!

@¿@¬

I close my eyes every time I blow my nose so I did not encounter this situation as I think it would be pretty bad!

it hurts but it passes. It wakes you up and makes you think wow I wasn’t pay enough attention to what I was doing. So it’s not so bad to get a little snuff in your eyes. Plus you could write a wonderfull Frank Sinatra style song about when snuff gets in your eyes too. So it’s got it’s pluses.

@bob I think if some snuff gets to my eyes I will write a Heavy Metal song

I would enjoy that.

Well… I just wiped my eye and apparently I had some left over Dragun on my finger… HOLY $&%*@!!! I think Dragun could be weaponized and used as a home defense product.

I read this thread and, straight away, for the first time, some snuff bounced off the tissue into my eye. LOL. Yes, it does sting.

This thread is jinxed .I recently had got snuff in my eyes. Never in my life.

Had the whole family in the car (on vacation) the other day and I ordered everyone to close their eyes. When I said they could open them again my daughter asked why I made them close their eyes. As I told her I didn’t want snuff to get in anyones eyes I realized they were expecting to be surprised. oops.

Glad to hear I am not the only one experiencing this, I am trying to remember to close my eyes when I blow, burns like hell to get tobacco in your eyes.

Yep, waiting in my car at some traffic lights, decided to blow my nose, and a big flake of McCombie (which is just pure tobacco) bounced off the hankerchief and into my eye - I actually saw it heading toward it but was too slow to stop it. Very difficult to drive with one red eye watering everywhere…
