Ok we’ve all got a bit of a snuff thing and I think this might have been asked in another form somewhere down the line but see this as a new opportunity and there are a lot of newbies out there just waiting so now’s your chance. C’mon in. Currently mine is cycling but my knees are in recuperative mode at the moment. It’s hard cycling at a constant 20mph so that cars only hit you from behind at 10mph in a 30 zone. My other wierd obsession has been optical things but I can’t afford that at present so I’m sitting as the sun sets with a cheap but good chinese pair of 15x70 trying to hold them steady and see if I can spot anything interesting on the purple and red horizon or just enjoy the view. I was into bird watching and wildlife stuff for a while and seeeing a few swallows arriving back from Africa the other day to the exact spot here in Ireland where they were probably born just puts a lot of life into perspective I think. Those little birds have travelled the world crossing the Sahara, seeing the world and it’s people and now they’re sitting there looking at me looking at them and I think thanks that you are here because maybe just maybe winter has finally ended. I also (and I actually have dreams about this) want to get another motorcycle some day and at least an 800cc or the electic by then equivalent. and I am addicted to listening to BBC 6 Music while online. Really an ultra fantastic music station. Best since the great John Peel R.I.P.

Cameras, metal working tools, pliers, pipes, cutting wood for the stove, and of course snuff and mice.
Ive taken a recent interest in RC cars, i currently have a short course truck to let me get to grips with the thing physically, i picked one from a big brand knowing id need to get a lot of replacement parts. i also love computers and linux, though not messed much with anything too in-depth. music(listening/creation) and tobacco are perhaps my main ‘obsessions’. i would love a motorbike, if im pressed into learning to drive, it will be that first rather than a car i think.

Amen to that. You win hands down! It’s like those swallows I was talking about. They didn’t need a sat nav or ipad or xbox but they probably do want a motorbike?! I’m also obsessed with not doing any spring cleaning or DIY but I will have to I suppose.
Far from being obsessions, but I’m also into knives and multitools, camping and hiking when time permits (in short supply last couple of years), had a narrowboat (canal boat) for 12 years, and just trying out container gardening for the first time this year

@50ft_trad So that IS where the name comes from. I wondered.
Hiking/camping/backpacking, fishing, wildlife photography, animal behavior, amateur astronomy, pipe smoking, quality. I also collect fossils and own several microscopes, telescopes, and cameras, snuff is by far my cheapest obsession.

That sounds great. I have a couple of Canon dslr’s but with no transport except bicycle I don’t get as far as I used to and so don’t use them much at the moment. Did you see that recent BBC show about the bears in Alaska. I thought that was really impressive. Got to catch up on the Bill Bailey show. The 1st part I saw was very good. He surprised me having only known him as a comedian before.
I go through phases of obsession with many things. Mug and Brush shaving, fishing, camping, knives, all kinds of stuff, but the only truly lasting ones are tobacco and firearms.

@Firestarter0 Certainly is mate! I thought I’d mentioned it when we met, but obviously not
