I’ll be going on a nature hike later and testing out my new telezoom lens.

P

I took my new mountain bike out for a good run; took part in Die Burger (The Citizen) Mountain Bike Challenge and finished first in the Grand Masters category. There were only 3 of us in that category!!!

A

Im going shopping with my wife and possibly a church service tonight.

B

I took one of my greyhound shopping this morning.

M

I have to help a friend move… and I was up til 4am last night… and i have a HUGE headache… : (

C

Working till 3, then going junkin then probably going to watch some ultra violent horror film and wait for the better half to get home. Then tomorrow morning, it’s back to junkin!

B

cstsoke, do tell what film it is you’re planning on watching… A huge movie fan myself…as far as that genre goes.

C

It’s probably going to be Sleepaway Camp, Phantasm II and maybe Slaughter High.

B

I’ve seen all three. Good choices.

C

Thank you sir. I’ve been watching Phantasm since I was about 6. There was a secret project going one, but I haven’t heard anything about it in some time. The other two I picked up at Movie Stop for about $4 each. For a new release I recommend Shutter Island. Damn good movie that will twist and turn you for about 2 hours.

S

A friend of mine is getting married in Sept. and he asked me to design his announcements and invites, so I’m going over to their house and show them the mock-up

A

i saw shutter island last night , great movie.

D

Yard work, club social. Ken

Today, we are celebrating that my wife is now a full-time teacher. She has passed her examinations and is now working as a government high school English teacher. We are going to a seafood restaurant, and we´ll be spending a lot of money there (22 adults plus 3 children). Tonight, I may not be very sober… and my wallet will be lighter, for sure

R

I am going to the airport to work on the airplane I am building. Supposed to be 94 degrees today, so I don’t know how long I will last!

B

waiting 15 minutes for my last class of the day. Then it’s time to chill then study some charts until they are stuck in my brain forever.

J

Today was dedicated to old hot-bulb tractors and the archives of the Steam Automobile Club of America.

B

Taking it easy on my 42nd Birthday. I have to get my tags renewed today.

M

Working a mid-shift today. Going home afterward to drown the inevitable sorrows in Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Snuff.

D

Gig tonight, gig tomorrow night. No musician should ever complain about work. Ken

W

I’ve been up to a Buddhist monastery for a weeks retreat so all week i’ve been working in the gardens and kitchen, meditating and generally being one with the world. Stefan

S

Attending a pub patio meeting tonight of the Downtown Toronto Pipe Club.

T

Buddhist monastery sounds fun. Was it in the US? Which branch?

W

It was in Northumberland, England. It’s called Throssel Hole. It was my 3rd visit. There are a few monasteries in the US and Canada in the same order. It is a Soto Zen monastery belonging to the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives, founded by Englishwoman Master Jiyu Kennet. The website is www.throssel.org.uk check it out its really informative has a lot of Dharma talks etc. I might be going up again before the end of the year, if not I will be going back in the Spring. Stefan

T

Very nice. I’ve spent a few times at Hindu monasteries and communes. I miss it.

S

Playing a few songs in between dramatized reading at a book release.

C

Working, then homework when I get home. Blah.

B

I’ve been building this 'shantyboat with my wife’s cousin and we had planned on getting about 25 miles on the Ohio River over the weekend. Head winds, .3 MPH current, well, we didn’t get far, roughly 2-3 miles before we aborted mission…but I was able to fish and have a few brews in the last days of Fall.

B

Custom Bar-b-Q and ‘eagle’s Nest’ fishing post,LOL!

P

@Bart, is it fitted with an inboard motor? If so, where is “in board”? I’m trying to train for a mountain bike event which takes place this coming Saturday. Our weather forecast said “mild and sunny with no rain” but it was pouring this afternoon. I only rode about 5km before I had to hurry home.

B

No motor, Pieter…just the current. I did fit up a drift paddle on an upsidedown wheel caster to try and manuever.

X

@ Bart: You’d make Huck Finn proud and me nervous. You don’t have any commercial traffic on that river that would run you down? You can only go downstream? Well, don’t abandon the project, I think you have some potential there.

C

That’s awesome, Bart. Love the green nature of it.

C

After work I’m taking my Dad to a UFL football game at the Citrus Bowl. It’s starting to cool down a bit, should be a pleasant night.

B

nice bart. Mind if I burrow that thing. It might make walking home a little easier today. Crazy down pour today, and it’s a very cold rain very cold. Of course this is when my umbrella deciedes it’s time to die.

W

That’s brilliant Bart. I’d love to have a go on that, ok I’d be shitting bricks lol but never mind. Stefan

T

@ bob The downpour and wind today killed the new umbrella I got for my wife just yesterday when I was anticipating this weather today. The area needs this rain though, it has been so dry the last month or so.

X

I’ve been running around the basement and attics finding all the leaks. The downpour makes it easy to find them. :-/ What a mess…

T

I do not think the rain is going to stop tonight Xander. Luckily, now I have no leaks, but I have had them in the past. Keep your snuff dry!

A

Ive been sitting around mostly. My wife popped home at lunchtime bringing me a BLT from a deli near where she works. After she left I read an old ‘Poldark’ novel. Ill be reading something else soon as I’ve decided its not a history channel type of day. Its raining pretty hard here so Im glad Im not at work. Tonight, if all goes to plan, I will be watching season two of the ‘Sopranos’ I never really considered watching it before but got season 1 cheap in a sale and was blown away. Then, due to the store not having season 2, I watched the final series. So now I’m going to watch season 2 knowing full well where T meets his maker (depending on your interpretation of the blackout at the end) I was inordinately shocked when he offed Christopher Moltisanti. I know the guy was a gangster but I found it very chilling. Well, thats my day. Might not be much but its mine.

P

Visited our bike shop, Cycle Addiction, to register for tomorrow’s mtb race, bought a couple of “bombs” for inflating a flat tyre and then came home. Since then I’ve been doing nothing but snuffing, snussing and drinking coffee. I will go to bed early tonight so that I will be ready for tomorrow’s trial on the mountain trail.

B

snuffster. He blacks out because he’s an alchoolic it’s like you were not even paying attention. Oh what that was my blackout. Sorry carry on.

P

It took me 1:42:57 to ride the 15km mountain goat trail today. I had a slight mishap when I hit the front brake to hard and the bike skidded. I toppled over and fell on my shoulder. Nothing serious, no blood shed. My wife, daughter-in-law and 2 grand children were waiting for me at the finish. Six years ago, on my first try, it took me 2:35:07 to complete the route. Oh Lord, it’s hard to be humble!! Now I’m doing absolutely nothing, only snuffing some Thuoc Lao and drinking coffee. Off to bed early tonight 'cause I’m feeling a bit tired.

M

Doing homework all day (I’ve been doing this for quite some time now, it’s getting tiresome). Today it means programming music with Csound and making a video for it. I hope I can finish it today. Pieter, wow, how do you de-age? Is it because African tobacco (or maybe coffee) is magical? Also, I’m glad nothing happened to you. I’d be very sad if your health got worse, so you’d better take good care of yourself!

P

@Menma, thanks for your concern. Yes I’m 66 years old and I ride like someone who is…well, 66 years old! For me it’s always a funride because I’m not really concerned about the time factor anymore. As long as don’t finish last and I enjoy the ride, I’m happy. But, I do beat some of the younger riders sometimes. I’m no good at climbing but I have no fear of the downhills and that’s where I make up lost time. I ride a good, race specific bike and it makes quite a difference. I’m out of road racing, so it’s only moutain biking now.

M

Pieter, you’re welcome. It’s just natural for a fan of yours to be concerned about your health, even though you’re not old yet (if you end up living 120 years, which is very possible seeing how active you are, that means you’ve just finished the first half of your life), but taking care is never a bad thing. I liked cycling a lot when I was a child, but I don’t have time for it anymore, and I forgot how to ride (seriously) LOL I’m sure you see lots of interesting things while you ride, specially if you do it in mountains, and the wind must feel great, so I’m really glad you can keep at biking. It would be great if I could keep as young as you when I reach your age. Well, that said, I should shut up for today (at least in my time zone), so see you again around the house tomorrow!

R

Playing Wii with family.

A

I spent today with my finger in my ear shouting at dead bees.

O

Just watching Futurama, snuffing, a little drinking and some cooking a little later.

N

Just payed a visit to the local tobacconist to get some pipe baccy and Cohiba Clubs, also got me a Cohiba Siglo II that I enjoyed on the way home.

A

Just sitting about snuffing, writing some gibbering nonsense and contemplating a wee sleep, aah the joy of retirement…

P

I’m sweating, literally. It’s 34 degrees celsius outside and rising.

N

Quit bragging Pieter!

S

Going to see a surgeon this afternoon for a physical exam, consult and to schedule a hernia repair. Delightful!

O

ouch. Sorry to hear. Did you do something specific that caused this? Hope you feel better soon.

S

I think it may have started from straining to push a Yamaha Virago 1100 up a plank onto the bed of my pickup truck. Getting too old for this sh*t. The surgeon actually found a smaller one on the opposite side. It just keeps getting more fun all the time.

P

Nothing

J

Had an early christmas with my girlfriend good times now about to go ice fishing with my dad

D

That sounds like a great day @johndeere89! I’m just doing last minute Christmas running around. Will have a glass of classy Iowa wine later. Sorry to hear about your trials @stitch; I hope you recover quickly after the surgery. A buddy of mine just had a hernia repair and it was more daunting than he expected. He came through it just fine though.

P

I’m spending my holiday vacation moving to a new apartment. Just signed the lease yesterday. I’m jazzed about it, but of course moving one’s possessions to a new abode is a royal pain. Quite literally, in my case, as moving all those boxes really aggravates my arthritis.

P

I watched cricket, India playing South Africa here, We’ve already won the first match and over the next two days, we will win this one as well.
