In the midwest this weekend we have a chance of rain and snow. My military surplus USMC Combat tent will Get a true test this weekend. Hope my snuff stays dry, lol. Been envolved with Scouting for over 15 years and still haveing fun, But take a heater along with me now since I can’t seem to stay warm. I’m 5’ 8" and 150 lbs. 10% body fat, no insulation, lol. edm

Camping and snuff go hand in hand, it seems. It’s also a wonderful thing to light a bowl of nice tobacco with the glowing end of a stick, pulled from a warm campfire. I don’t recall if there is a Merit Badge for that, Mustangii…but there SHOULD be,LOL!!
Bart, they’ve dropped all the good merit badges. I don’t even think they have Beekeeping anymore, which is a crime.
That’s too bad. I have the books and an old Dan Beard boat building book, but was never a scout. There are many things in those books that EVERY child should know, though.
It makes me cringe when I hear “WeBlow”…maybe that’s why I shyed away

Well survived the weekend, the tent was dry. My buddy heater worked great. Didn’t take any pipes Bart, but took along my sample tin of Acid cigars. The Blondies are one of my favs. Also the word is Webaloes, not weblows, lol. The rank was Lion cub untill the name change. I am tired and just finished up the laundry from the weekend. Muddy and cold, rain, sleet and snow Sat. Morning then cold the rest of the afternoon. A couple of the adult leaders learned a lession. One shouldn’t sleep on a cot in the cold weather, lol. edm
The camp I went to had a rifle shooting merit badge and one for shotgun as well. Both were taught by a substitute teacher from my junior high school, who came into class one morning with, “Hey, shikitohno, you were a pretty godd shot. Still shooting those rifles?” The rest of my class went dead silent, like they were mortified that I knew how to operate a rifle.
@Bart Its WEBELOS - “We’ll Be Loyal Scouts” and its a Cub Scout rank. Not Boy Scouts. Just sayin… I had to go through it as a boy on the way to my Eagle rank. @mustangii - I’ve been meaning to get involved with scouting again but this time as a leader. It’s been 12 years since I finished the Eagle. Good times.
