Where can I find these blends? I’m dying to give them a taste!
try Union square by GL Pease. It is the very similar as FVF. Also Mcclellands Blackwoods flake is also very similar to FVF. Also, one of the local tobacconists around me just got some tins in of both of those. They are very expensive and I don’t know how they did it.
I need one tin of 1792 flake really bad. I cannot find it anywhere in stock.
Plenty available in the UK online shops.
Thanks ermtony, I checked, but the cost in the UK (even minus VAT) and then shipping to the USA is a bit much for an unmemployed scientist, haha. Wish me luck though, I just sent in twelve more applications for a university research position yesterday.
Those are the prices we have to put up with Good luck with the job applications!
Well what kind of science man are you if you can’t synth the tobacco. A real one probably.
I got my order and tried out the FVF. It was wet. Very much so and cut thick. I smoked a bowl and it was mild but nothing to sing home about. The review I read said I would be looking forward to my next bowl. I didn’t finish my first one. To each his own I guess.
To me the best SG Flake is St James Flake. It is FVF with Perique added. Gives it more flavour. I never have been too enamored with straight Virginias.
The flakes certainly should to be dried some before smoking. Proper rubbing out vs fold and stuff in combination with correct loading etc., etc., etc., not for beginners really. Also the fresh flakes can use a spell of anaerobic activity (at least ninety days). Thank goodness for Perique which makes Virginia’s so much easier to smoke without the finesse otherwise required.
@Juxtaposer - so let it sit for 90 days after opening and it will get better?
No…learn about what you are doing and YOU will get better.
See my other post…we now have pipe tobaccos in stock. Made my day! Dave
