My eighteen year old cat gets put down this afternoon now that you mention it. The coon hound at seventeen is not far behind her.
Two daschunds, one old lady and a male puppy, 3.5 months old. Bipolar, I LOVE those greyhounds. I South Africa they are called “windhonde - wind dogs” because they can run like the wind. Beautiful characters, loving animals.
I have an ex German Police dog, a german shephard named Otto and a Jack Russel named Kaiser Bill.
I am owned by an extremely spoiled 13-year-old cat named Kali:
My wife loves that cat, PSS…lol
@Pieter- I didn’t know about the windhonde. Thanks for the compliment, they love ya for it
3 dogs, 5 rats, and a worthless Tom cat that comes around to eat. The dogs are, one Aussie shepard-Husky mix, one Husky-German shepherd mix, and a Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix. The big dogs are to take care of business, should the need arise. The small dog is here to wake up the big dogs.
100 lb. white boxer in the house and a stray yellow cat that hangs around the yard.
The little feller isn’t me, so please no short jokes…
@ bart: then you must be the dog!? LMAO!
@ bart : omg omg omg that dog is just gorgeous… here is roxy and lucy
Haha, SJ!! He needs to fill out…he is rather tall for a boxer. Good looking dogs there, RaStanit. Bottom one looks like Old Yeller a bit
I have 3 parrots, an Umbrella cockatoo, a sun conure and a female eclectus. I’m a petsitter so I spend my whole day taking care of other people’s pets. Check out the videos and slideshow on my website if you wish… Link
I have an Aussie-Lab mix, a Short Haired Domestic, a Red Ear Slider, Russian Tortoise and a Red Foot Tortoise. Good dogs, Bi Polar, my Fiance and I are looking into adopting one as soon as we buy a house.
You won’t regret it cstokes. We adopted our first several years ago and had to adopt a second one. We got 'em both at the Jacksonville Kennel club.
@miamimark, I’m a petsitter too
2 Italian Greyhounds, 1 Australian Shepherd and a Ragdoll cat
…So that’s why they call you iggy
@miamimark: I always wanted a sun conure, such beautiful birds.
Yep!) bipolarbear I was soooo close to adopting an x-racer, but this little Italian Greyhound desperately needed a home back in January. Love Sight Hounds!
Luna: Cosmo:
Timber:
Two male brown mackerel tabbies, Norman and Chester, and one female orange classic tabby, Lulu. They’re not so much pets as adjunct citizens of the house…
3 cats, one tarantula, 2 leopard geckos. The scorpion (Frank, rest in peace) laid his lil ole sting down a while ago and is buried in the garden. Also a plethora of hedgehogs, snails and mice as undomesticated pets in the back garden (and useful snacks for the cats)
1 lahsa apso, 1 toy poodle, 1 border collie, 1 main coon cat, and 1 other cat, I’m not sure what kind.
Tilly dog
I have a Horsfield Tortoise called Brian, he’s just over a year old, had him since October but he was born last May. Stefan
@Juxtaposer, sorry to hear about your cat. I know a wonderful lady that does home visits. I used her when I had to put my Aussie of 14 yrs down last year. Whisper me if you want her info.
one daft labrador and one even dafter Beagle
Me I’am petless at the moment. I could show a picture of my first cat if anyone is interested. Had to put him down too. Miss the kitten.
a mix dog, a long hair daschund, a cat, and a mexican red knee tarantula
3 cats, (Abessinian, Burmese and Toyger) my workdog (military) died a few months ago during a terrible car accident, we and the cats miss him very much.
my daughters pet asbo the hob ferret lives with me great house pet. Got his name as he bullied the other ferrets so has to live on his own but he doesn’t seem to mind
I love abby their awwesome cats. I lived with a half abby half tabby he was a freak and a half but an amazing animal. I really think that he was smarter then most people. Just saying that everyones pets are so cute and sweet looking. I think I could be friends with any of the pets I’ve seen so far. I a portion of last night with a dobermen sleeping on my feet.
Hi Bob, Abby’s are indeed very smart and a handful, I’ve never seen a cat so confident as this one, you can take him anywhere, doesn’t matter he’s afraid of nothing, loves to ride in the car and walks for miles on the leash. We clickertrained all or cats, they love to do tricks. Some movies: http://users.telenet.be/snuff/page3/page3.html
persistent would describe my half abby. Sweet cat though and really very trainable too actualy. Picky and demanding too but it fit him well so. You know how some people claim their pet thinks it’s a person well he thought he was a dog.
I have 2 dogs. A black Great Dane. Orion. That is about 6 1/2’ tall when on back legs. And a Black Dachsund/ Brussels-Griffon Mix. Maynard James (after Maynard James Keenan). Stands about 1’ tall (Looks like a mini of my Dane.) They are best friends, and we love them also. The Dane thinks he owns the couch though.
so i was walking Roxy and Lucy today ( pic on the first page) and as we were walking back towards the car Roxy stopped to smell something in the grass ; i call her couple of time and she won’t move… as i get closer i see something shinny in the grass where she was smelling…sure enough it was my president snuff box… must have dropped it earlier when we were walking…
@Micheltn, JR/Bulldog must be quite a dog!! Good looking guy.
@ra.stanit: I hope Roxy got a treat after her walk. Faithful snuff-hounds should be rewarded.
@PSS believe me those dogs live like kings… well queens LOL… @ snuff-belgium sorry to hear about your dog… those pics with him and the cats are great!..
I have a 3 year old Guineea Pig
Another cute pet.
@Kcazman, a Dachshund/Brussels-Griffon mix must be a very interesting dog. Both breeds are big hearted and loving animals.
My cat Kali passed away yesterday afternoon after a brief illness. I’ve more or less been in a state of shock for the past 24 hours. But I trust that time will heal the pain of her loss.
So sorry to hear that, PnSnS. I know that’s gotta be really rough. We get so attached to them!
I’ve lost cats before and it’s not a good time. I feel your pain.
It’s terrible, my condolances.
when a pet dies it’s always hard, we have lost some many over the years, cats, dogs, ferrets, rats. It’s part of owning pets, someday you have to part with them, it hurts a lot but I wouldn’t have missed the pleasure they give us while alive for nothing on this earth. I wish you strenght.
I had to kill a rat once. It was not a pet, but a pest. Nonetheless it was hard to do, emotionally.
@PSS, sorry to hear about your loss.
My condolences, PSS, from one cat person to another…
@PSS- That is sad- terrible news, for which I’m sorry to hear about. I wish you all the best, my friend.
Three weasels! (ferretts) Two albino, both deaf and small, and one large sable. Great pets, fair amount of work. I’ve got 12 litter boxes in my trailer-trash home so they are well trained. Only problem is finding the 2 deaf ones if they fall asleep somewhere other than the huge cage. The Sable has a love/hate relationship with squeeky toys and will come running at a dead sleep.
Two good cats and one bad one. One tarantula and two leopard geckos.
I wouldn’t call her a “pet”. She’s my assistance Dog and constant companion. Rainbow Sugaree, or Rainy for short. Half Black Lab, half Golden Retriever.
Therapy dog? I love those well trained beasts, and you can take them anywhere because it’s law, at least in the US.
@mcguyver75 She is a therapy Dog. Not very well trained. She can be a real brat at times, but I love her immeasurably. Since she came to live with me, she’s kept me out of Hospital many times. (I suffer with Major Depressive Disorder,Post Traumatic Stress, Heart Disease and Diabetes.)
she looks smart. What is a bad cat? I’ve never known one. I’ve known some psychotic cats but they were still very good.
She’s beautiful, Mr_Snuffy.
I had a city cat crawl into my bathroom window as a kitten when I lived in Chicago. He loved me, but attacked anyone/anything else. The dog was terrified of the thing. When I moved back to Wisconsin I couldn’t have cat’s, so I took him to my buddy’s farm. His other cat’s knew to hide when the coyote’s came, but my cat had no fear of dogs. Anyway, my cat disappeared after two weeks. I’m guessing he was dinner, poor ScarFace. I normally hate cats, but I loved that one.
Here’s a couple pics of the weasels.
cats are awesome. If it makes you feel better imagine that him and the coytees have formed the most species diverse gang in Wis.
Nice.
I’am going to pretend they are drinking gin. I know that is crazy considering that they prefer scotch.
Feravite. It’s like crack for weasles. I’ve got pics of them slurping it out of a shot glass too.
So it makes them steal your car attena. Crack joke.
I love it, as I lived in Humboldt Park, Chicago for years. You can’t forget about those mini rose’s sold in little glass tubes with chore boy on the side.
@cstokes4. Many thanks! @mcguyver75 Ferrets are great. My friend’s Ferret is hysterical. They’re fascinated by anything with a hole in it. The last time I was playing with one, the little guy spent several minutes tickling my ear. (Seeing how long that takes to make it to the out of context thread. Lol!)
Heres a pic of Reese my Yorkie, he may look like a puppy but hes over 10 years old
Wow. When my dad bred horses in S.D. he had a huge dog, but not that big. What kind is he? Congrats if that’s your female too.
I have 2 cats. Manny, about a year old, bengal/tabby. And Bernard, about 6…or 7 months old. Also a tabby (but I think he, too, is part bengal…got him from the spca, so I cannot be sure). I also have two dogs. Dessel, a Bassett Hound puppy and Zannah, a pit/rott/black lab mix puppy. By friday, though, I’ll only have one. Have to get rid of the bassett hound. He is a spiteful little bugger, and keeps peeing on my couch. It’s a shame, because he is a beautiful dog and very well house trained. He just pees on my couch. Too many times to count, and he finally has to go. Funny story about my kitten Bernard. Up until last week, his name was Padme. We adopted him from the spca four months ago, and was told he was a she. Going through his papers last week, we come to find all the information refers to him as a boy kitty. Had my woman’s cousin (worked at a vet and kennel for years) take a looksee and, sure enough, he has testicles. So now his name is Bernard (to complete the black books/cat circle), although, I have taken to calling him “John-Kitty”. When we found out, we weren’t sure to rename him and that’s what I started calling him. It’s…his middle name. Bernard John-Kitty Coghlan. Has a nice ring to it. ~Ken
My 5 months old puppy Ben swallowed a bone on Sunday which got stuck in his throat. The vet managed to push it down into his stomach and remove it from there by operating. He’s a tough little guy and on the mend already.
Snuff Hunter, where did you find the photo?!!!
One of my cats is on Wikipedia (the silver tabby half way down the page).
My Lisbon looking very innocent here~
8 year old female Black and Tan Coon Hound name of HarleyUploaded with ImageShack.us
A very pretty lady you have there, noob.
itsuke he looks like he’s dignified and schemeing.
Well, I guess we hava menagerie. We have a big dog, part Border collie part?? some big breed naked Bandit as he stole our hearts from a shelter. A pure bred Springer Spaniel named Belle Starr from across the street, sweetheart too. and now for the cats, This place is sort of a “boys town for cats” they come here, why? Dont know, they show up. Lets see if I can name em all. White and Black Manx ="Scooter’, Black cat=Patee, her son, Bearcat. black also. Black again=Sammy, female. Tabby yellow male=Jack, three Egyptian Mau cats, grey, T.J, Fritz, and Sally, one eyed long haired gray tabby, Sarah, tiny calico cat, female, = Carley. Russian blue male=Romeo, Pure white female, newest of the group, showed up sleeping on our roof this past weekend, Jasmine. Grey tabby female+Pumpkin. Thats it, our lucky 13 cats. We told the local vet that we want a named parting lot space since we spend so much (dont ask how much, it is so wrong how much we spend!)They are our kids, and we love em all. I even had one and lived off base while in the air force. Now that is a cat lover!
That’s a great story. I imagine you saying it all in one breath by the way you wrote it. I’m going to go sit in my corner…
One of our three weasels managed to run off with my tin of Toque Original, which I was on pace to finish off in record time. I’ll have to look in the hiding spots and see what else I find. It took us 3 months to find two different remote’s they hid.
I have a husky/shepherd mix; he’s been a loving and loyal companion to me. He’s about 3 years old, rescued him from a shelter in August 2010. He’s awfully handsome, to boot.
my girlfriends uncle had an uncle that had a husky shepard mix named buddy. He was an awesome dog and he would howl noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Lionheart that is a supeer cute dog.
See the “what are you drinking?” post… That Husky is an amazingly beautiful animal! I bought a pure-bred husky pup a couple years ago, and the one I picked actually didn’t make it before it was my time. I was refunded, but still to this day, I wish I had the animal. The guy who bred it run’s with a couple of his past my cabin often. In the snow he puts on cross-country ski’s and let’s the dogs pull him. They are amazing! I’ve got to get one, but I live in a white-trash trailer house with three ferrett’s so I don’t think I should get a dog like that.
Thanks Bob! I almost never hear a peep from Dash, until sirens go by…and then he howls, too! Must be a husky thing. He’s a great dog. Mcguyver, I’ll check out that thread! I’m sorry to hear about your pup … they’re great dogs, beautiful, very friendly, and just a pleasure to have. My guy’s a little smaller than the breed standard (he’s only 33 pounds!), so he’s been perfect as a ‘roommate’ in my apartment.
Sweet. A swig of Lion Porter to you!
This isn’t my dog, he’s one of my “clients” (I’m a pet sitter) His name is Blue and he is a great dog. He cries every time I leave the house and it almost sounds like he’s talking!
huskies howl. It’s cute even if it is loud. My neighbor has one and if the wind blows or sirens go by he howls. Sweet dog.
I love it when dogs try howling along to sirens…one of my brother’s dogs will sing along with the tornado sirens on test day, which is every 1st Saturday of the month at 1 pm. But only if she thinks you’re not watching, and even then it’s almost under her breath, as if she’s afraid she’s got a bad singing voice, hehehe.
I found the hidden Toque Original, it was in a stash of hidden toy’s, a pencil, a couple rubber bands, all inside the couch. Weasels!
Im a cat lover, I love the old saying that dogs have owners, cats have staff!
@Micheltn … Thanks! Dash’s just such a peach, really one of the most gentle and sweet dogs I’ve ever met. I found him on petfinder.com, and saw he was going to be put down - so I drove about three hours to get him from a rural animal control place in Indiana. Best decision of my life … he keeps me company, and is a loving and loyal companion.
lionheart your dog does look like a sweetness. I’ve noticed that resuced animals really often seem to appreciate what you’ve done for them. My first cat we found abandoned in the woods. I could tell he really appreciated being saved. I guess I’am just reccomending rescued animals.
So my oldest weasel has a bad tooth on the upper-left ‘canine’. It doesn’t hurt him yet but he’s only 3 yrs old. I’m debating on taking him to the vet, or saving some cash by letting my dentist dad take the tooth out. I know a local vet who will sedate him before hand. Any advice? Please? lionheart, Just looking at him you would think all the things you mention about him.
I’d want to be sedated personaly. Not sure if I understood the question correctly. Not really an answer as much as an opinion.
That’s all I’m looking for. I’ve had plenty of work done and barely need ‘novicane’ which is no longer made in the US. I’m not worried about me though, it’s the weasel. Should I have a DDS do it, or a vet? Obviously both are trained well in there trade’s, but would it be humane for me to sedate Spike under a vet’s supervision, and have dad pull it, or should I just let a vet handle it? It just crossed my mind that dad has two vet patients, perhaps one of them will handle it for a small credit for the account? Also, should I wait till it hurts or not? I’m sure as hell not going to put a ferrett through a endo (root canal) and cap.
I’d definatly let the vet handle it. For the same reason I would get my tooth pulled by the vet. god forbide but what if there was even a small complication. Not too likely but you never know with sedation. the vet would definatly know more about any type of complication.
Thanks Bob, I think I will first be in touch with the vet. I don’t know how little radiation my dad could use to take an x-ray. Plus, my dad is been pulling people teeth for 40+ years, and having been his assistand for awhile, I’d hate for him to over-grip and snap the tooth and have to remove it by cutting a flap and drilling the tooth into pieces. I’m going to take a pic of it and send it to a childhood friend who’s a vet in Madison now. I appreciate the advice, and my mind is made up. Weasle discussion over.
no problem.
I have 2 male cats, 2 pregnant female cats, and a ferret. here’s Socks, he’s a manx. this is Rolley
These two are little bit and little one
will have to find spider to take his picture edm
A soft-coated wheaten terrier.
So many lovely animals in this thread! @Pieter Claassen, glad to hear your pup is okay. I have a rescued dog myself, a sweet Basenji mutt that nobody wanted and spent half of her life (before I got her when she was six) in various shelters. Their loss. She’s amazing. I had a bit of a scare with some blood in her urine a few weeks ago, but the vet said it was struvite crystals irritating her bladder/urethera and with a change in diet she’s doing fine. I was one scared doggy daddy!
Whoa, I just realized how old this thread is and that I had already posted in it! Oh well.
It’s way better to resurrect an old thread than start a new identical one! I’m a pet sitter with no pets of my own! Here’s one of many videos shot at my house: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FWm5sKsQKU
Something tells me he never got the stick. LOL!
Here is my kid, his name is Sirius Black.
@cstokes4 thats an awesome name, if you can’t tell I’m a Potter fan
I can’t take credit. He was already named by the rescue firm when we picked him up as a puppy. These days we mostly call him Sammy, or if he is in trouble he gets the Samuel treatment.
@mustangii that’s brilliant that you’ve got a Manx. I go to the Isle of Man regularly, and have been to the Mann Cat Sanctuary. We wanted to adopt a Manx but to import a cat to the UK is a nightmare, there’s loads of paperwork and the cat would have to go into quarentine for 6 months as it is coming from another jurisdiction. I would love a Manxie, I’ve seen quite a few on my travels round the Island, they are really friendly. I’d love one. Stefan
My dog just ran away 2 hours ago.
@transistor … seriously? if so, sorry … is he/she one to wander back? or are you out looking?
He came back after 6 hours. He’s never done that before! Whew.
I have one american short haired tabby cat named fizzy. He’s a very good cat.
my best buds a bloodhound. a true friend
@elmos … love bloodhounds… and that is a perfect name, dudley. great pic. great face.
@transistor My dog does that at least once every couple months and they are very long hours that tick by while she isn’t in the yard.
My dog doesn’t do this though. Luckilly I heard a paw at the door. The longest he’s been gone for (and this is one of maybe two times he’s wandered off) he had only been gone an hour or so.
I’m the proud dad of 3 boy ratties and 1 boy hamster. Looking at Rolley above, now I want a ferret too!!!
ratties? You mean rats? I want a ferret but they stink really bad!!!
Yup, rats. Brilliant pets.
My Sweetheart!
earthbound89 … that is one cute scottie. or is that a schnauzer? either way, cute pic …
Fettits don’t stink that bad if they are descented, just keep their litter box clean. no worst than looking after a cat. edm
A lot of people say male rats smell badly, but I’ve not found that to be the case. A bath a couple of times a month and changing the cage bedding once a week and they don’t smell at all.
@snuffbrant shes a mini schnauzer, this was taken when she was a month or two old. thanks for the compliment
Pets Anyone? 9 cats, 5 Sugar Gliders, 1 mother in law! Unkei
Just applied to adobt some kitties a few minutes ago. Wish me luck
@rdunnion cant go wrong with a few kitties!
@rdunnion read before kitten adoption. http://www.cracked.com/article\\_19007\\_6-reasons-kittens-suck-learned-while-raising-them.html
I have a 10 month old blue merle border collie (have had border collie’s in the family ever since I was born, amazing dogs), and a hand reared peach faced lovebird.
The wife and I just adopted another turtle a few weeks ago. This time an African Sideneck.
@bob LoL, at the article…little devils
@bob thats a really good article. Very true as well…
cracked is pretty awesome.
@bob hilarious thank you.
no problem love spreading the laughs.
Scampi
Tiger
@SnuffHead - Scampi is beautiful!
This is rosie who always wants to steal my pc double as she loves chewing oak
why are pets so cute and why do cats love tuna?
Application denied
My dog broke his leg :*( What??? Why @rdunnion? How could they deny you?
my thoughts too.
I must have given a bad impression over the phone. They didn’t understand why I still didn’t have the family cats I had as a child and were wary cause I’m sharing a house with 3 other guys. Thats OK cause I will just save a couple from being killed at a shelter.
shelter kitties will love you forever, cause they usaly figure out you’re the one that saved them.
@rdunnion OMG that’s ridiculous. I don’t see how that has anything to do with it. I’d just cuss them out and go rescue one from a shelter. What buttholes… I hate people like that. You shoulda told them you poisoned the kitties when you were a child but you’re doing better now lol
hopefully they are this up tight about things that definatly matter. I mean I’d rather say no to a good family a few times then yes to a bad family when kitty adoption is the theme.
@rdunnion so they didn’t let you adopt because you didn’t steal your parents cats when you moved out?
Some bullshit, screw them.
Well the 2 prego cats have had their Kittens. This is the only one that I have been about to catch. Meet Scamper. edm
My son’s 5 year old dachshund had to be put down to day because of a fractured spine. We are all in shock and pain because it was such a loveable and friendly little animal. When an old dogs dies, it’s bad enough but when it’s a 5 year old it’s much worse. And the kids can’t understand why it should happen. Been a very sad day for us today.
@mustangii AWWW Scamper is adorable! I love kitties and puppies… @PieterClaassen I’m sorry for your loss. It is never easy to lose a love one no matter how many legs they have… I have a new little puppy named Geronimo. He’s awesome- I got the name because he’s a fearless little leaper! He will jump no matter how far up or away he is! Cute little critter.
Here’s scamper’s brothers or cousins. The cats had kittens are mother and daughter.
wish I had one.
Allie. Now 7 1/2 months old.
Hey Bob want me to mail you a cat? edm
I wish I couls take one, but it’s not in the cards.
My family is looking to get another aussie. (ours had to be put down due to nerve damage). Luckily I still have my pet cockatiel Ichi. She just got spayed and is recuperating. Pets always make me feel complete.
Three cats. The one who stands in for me is called Shadow, the other two are Ishtar (tortoiseshell) and Johnny (black and white). Presence of the three cats results in a regular supply of rabbits. Some of which are not yet dead…
Here’s a picture of my puppy-hounds; Ag’Morda (bull dog) and Mr. Diddles (jack-russel, named by the wife)

I don’t know why I can’t edit my post. Just copy and paste this and look at all my doggie pics. http://s1113.photobucket.com/albums/k511/Pennanngalan/My%20dogs/
Here’s a pic of my newest pet Mojo a veiled chameleon. I got him just over 6 months ago and he could fit on my finger, now he barely fits in my hand
@n9inchnails my roomate has a big chamelon also … i gave my two turtles away a few weeks ago to a turtle sanctuary 6000 gallon fitered pond waterfalls fountains lilypads and 60 or more other turtles they should love it there :)
what cuties pennanngalan and n9inchnails what a beautifull beast that is.
A tabby cat named Ringold, who thinks she replaced my Alsation of 16 years, (half time) a red-nosed white pit bull named Angel, and two very large Koi.
My three cats are my best friends,
Toronto the oldest is calm and tender
Hibou more restless is very stategic for the pleasure of alls,an she’s so émotive lovely pet.
Astro-bulle,younger,is the only male,Ifind him a day on my door, very little then, but as cat male,he took imediatly the cat power,He’s extremly inteligent and tender too.
The one you see to the left is Blondie, rescued from the animal shelter. She was due to take the long walk, after being adopted and brought back not once but twice. She was Sandy when adopted, becoming Blondie in her third life. She is Labrador, Pug, and Husky- runs like the wind when given the chance, and is the most loving dog i have encountered. We have lived w/her for six years, and dread the day when she leaves.
We now also have a Bella dog- Pug, Jack Russel and Begale. She has been w/us for about six months and we have had her since puppydom. She is sassy and opinionated, and the jury is still out on her.
Also, three “Fair Fish”(those being the fish you win at the fair). They are easily nine inches a piece, we have had them for seven years.
Two kitties, Blutbad and Jules, both rescued from the ghetto as babies. Jules was going to be given up and put down because he is physically deformed and I believe he’s mentally handicapped, but he is the happiest and most loving cat I’ve ever met.
Also have one juvenile ball python… and now one black mouse that the wife thought was too darn cute to be eaten…
here is my kitty. His name is Chadwick.
That’s a very handsome feline, sir. He must murder your curtains, though…
and other pets too.
My little pony Megan, the old girl just turned 28
We raise and show Briard’s. This is Miko, our agility dog.
Citra47 very cute dog. Though if I had a dog like that I’d name it princess Wooki, cause that’s what it looks like to me. Very adorable.
Baby Chewie
Had a dog (wire haired fox terrier,) LOTS of guppies, inherited a cat with a farmhouse that would scratch on the door and display it’s barn kill before eating it and a hamster named Oglethorp.
My most exotic was when I set up a salt water aquarium for myself. I preferred invertebrates. Salt water fish can get to be can be expensive!
one staffordshire terrier, one staff/boxer/lab mix, one shibu inu/jack russell mix, one collie mix, one yellow naped amazon, one military macaw. one rose breasted cockatoo, one blue crown conure.
Here is Angel , whore that keeps giving me kittens. Pregnant for the 13th year again. Too old to be fixed ,too annoying to keep inside. My daughters cat one of 3.
I have a Labrador/Pitbull mix and a Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrior mix.
My pet rock rocks! Seriously though, we have a black and white “tuxedo” cat named rocky. Big, lazy and spoiled. But a great cat. He’s 10 now and still loves everybody, has to hang out if there’s a party, and won’t let you put him down if you pick him up, even if you’ve been carrying him around for 30mins. I really thought he’d become more independent at this age. Seems like most cats have had enough in 30 seconds!
Ladybird is the bloodhound puppy and Lola is the Staffordshire terrier my other three dogs, that eat A LOT more and cost A LOT more, especially when they decide that hemlock looks delicious. Sweetwater up front, Princess in the middle, and Rusty in the back.
wow, really big dogs there :-? :^o
wow, really big dogs there :-? :^o
I call them big dogs because we never ride them they just get to run around my farm being idiots and trying to kill themselves in interesting ways.
3 cats, all rescued, all of whom now treat me as a serf.
Give them all a hug or pet from me! Rest In Peace Auggie doggy! I miss you too much, you were truly my best friend.
Will do
A polaroid I took of the marvelous Eliot a couple months ago. He loves a good bath, yessiree.
Two miniature Pinchers
Unfortunately I do too. I was working out of town for a week and when I returned home we had a cat. I dislike cats alot and when I told her to get rid of the cat I was informed on how much the kids were in love with it already. Long story short kids cried a bit and we still have a cat. I’m just waiting to get her back for it maybe a new snake or giant spider while she’s at work.
@distaind you could get a snake from @BigDaddySnuff
@joesnuffer @distaind I can hook you up. Let me know what you want. Don’t ever buy a snake from the pet shop I can get you something captive bred and much cooler.
Free advertising right there. Booyah!
@distaind I have spider connections also. They don’t float my boat but I know some breeders from the reptile shows I do.
That’s funny. I do remember you stating that you had alot of small snake’s now that you mention it. Problem is right now I have no room and would need to buy a tank and other items for the tank. Which would be a bit tough right now cuz work slowed down a bit but when the time comes I will definitely get ahold of you first.
@distaind No worries. I have a ton of babies right now that won’t be ready for a few months. Stay away from glass tanks. I’ll get you a deal on a proper enclosure with everything you need for the price of an aquarium set up.
I have two cats. One is too smart for his own good, the other is special-needs.
4 dogs ( I claim the two Blue Healers) 4 snakes and a Quaker Parrot
@Slide I had a blue heeler. She was a giant baby, but only to me. The reason and method of how she was lost to me still makes me sad.
Not for about 25 years… My last endeavor was an 80 gallon salt water fishtank.
A dog and a turtle.
@Asherael - Husky? My last puppy-hound was a Husky and he absolotely LOVED to get a bath
@Dogwalla - I’ve seen heelers like that. That only liked one person. Mine are fairly social to people…as long as I like the people.
@Pennanngalan He seems to be a pretty complecated mix, some husky, some collie, and what not. We got him from a prison dog-training rehab program, which was particularly rewarding.
@Asherael - Pretty animal! Does he howl and kick up a verbal ruckus while getting bathed? Faelorne (my husky) did, he almost sounded like the you-tube video of the husky saying “I-love-you”. I’ll be damned if I don’t miss that dog.
@itsuke oh my god that cat is adorable! If I have any pictures of my mulberry i’ll share them too. She lived a long life, but passed almost a year ago.
My Lisbon looking very innocent here~
I have JRT. 6 kg TNT
I have the stupidest budgie in the wolrld…
My Boo Radley after a long night…
Don’t have any pets but had a fox family using my back garden for socializing and play earlier this year; vixen and a total of four kits. It was great fun to watch them and they kept moaning cats away. Sadly, they had to move because development of vacant neighbouring lot. Reynard came to look for vixen the other day but found only builders!
My little baby here :-). Stefan
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dabob23/598116500/in/photostream Here is a crazy fox spoting photo. I thought some people might dig.
@bob This is a sweet tat. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dabob23/583034087/in/photostream/
thanks. It came from a drawing my girlfriend made for me cause I remind her of fox. Especialy when I’am thinking something clever I get that half smile. Thanks though I’ll tell her you guys dig it.
5 years of selective breeding and you end up with something like this. This is a Ball Python morph call a “Killer Bee”. Loving those blue eyes. I worked hard on this project and it was very frustrating to say the least.
Well, powers completely out and now my phone is my source of entertainment, news and so on. So I found this thread and thought I’d share since my dogs are shaking in their boots scared of this whole mess. One is a blue pit named Jax (sons of anarchy, yup) and he’s a big sissy. He hears a foreign noise like thunder, smoke alarm, banging, etc and he hides in the bathroom and shakes uncontrolably. Pits are so misunderstood, all because of scumbags who train them to fight (what I would do to those people if I had the chance), but really they are the sweetest dogs and are more trainable than any other I’ve had. Anyway he’s a good pup. The other is a border collie mix named Abby and she is a weirdo, but still our little princess. Shes also skittish and another little sissy, both are curled up next to me in the candle lit living room. Well, those are my pups. Used to have for cats, and many before that, but haven’t gotten anymore since the last one died.
Yeah, I agree, those folks that treat their dogs that way sicken me! I had a border collie- black lab mix and he was such a great dog, really my friend. If I end up with a digital camera I could post a pic here.
pits are great. Though one time I was minding my own business when I heard something charging me through a bunch of thick weeds and this pit bull jumped at my face from the weeds, to lick my face. It actualy jumped and licked my face five times or so. Never met it before I guess it just liked people.
My mom’s dog had a pit bull playmate who was very friendly, you could put your hand in her mouth without worries.
These are two of my daughters idiot cats sharing a windowsill.
Working liver and white English Springer Spaniel called Alfie, our baby! Thats me on the right with the lead (my OH bought it with our last dog, also a boy!! lol).
My pooch, Liffey, marveling at the ongoing blizzard in 2010. for some reason I have’t got a more recent pic of her. I’ll rectify that soon.
His name is Moki, but I call him Chuck.
our half-feral cat, takes no guff from humans
My JRT Ronnie took to sleep in old stoller for dolls. But when it wakes up, starts Armageddon
Just so long as its not Snuffageddon 'tis alright.
One little dog and many snakes…i’m a snake’s breeder. @BigDaddySnuff I read that you also have ball pythons! I have a ball p. facility.
I got a lil beagle named Chloe. Here she is - my best friend
nope did not do it right.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dabob23/8989400510/ my sweet foundling
I have an 8 year old Irish Jack Russell Terrier. Born in Ireland, lives in California. She has a strange accent when she barks.
@bob your art is quite disturbing very Picasso-ish,I kind of like it .You Rat Bastard
Thank you. Art it’s one of things that keeps me “sane”.
though dot is such an awesome cat. And some asshole neglected and abandoned him too. He is sweet for a cat. He doesn’t wake me up in the morning he waits until I get up to say anything. He insists on cuddling before he eats too.
23 horses,4 dogs,2 cats,1 chicken,3 geese oh yeah and a goldfish.
9 cats and 2 dogs, all were abandoned and ended up in our care.
we have a lease cat Jaap Bes
well, i have a big lazy bunny, his name is kahve, turkish word for coffee.
but he likes hibiscus tea more than coffee, haha ^^
My dog. These photos were taken one-two years ago. At first photo you can see her on “walkout” - she often stops suddenly, when she does not want to go there. With no reason. Just because. On second she’s on balcony - eight floor, at around 25 metres above the ground. She’s not afraid of heights at all - sometimes she barks at someone she saw outside. She likes observing people from that level, so she’s often called “Her Highness”
Girlfriend’s cat, Lottie- not mine, but she will still wake me up at 2am wanting to play and cuddle (aka the ‘claw his chest and bite his chin’ game). ^^^ Sitting in my guitar case, in the most uncomfortable looking part- theres a storage compartment right underneath her.
^^^ I wonder if she got some of my snuff…
^^^ Finally a ‘normal’ cat picture, mmm, feet.
Dogwise we have a Husky,an Akita mix and a PeekaPoo[Pekinese/Poodle] Birdwise a Maluccan Cockatoo,Umbrella Cockatoo and a Sun Conure. We also have 2 cats that the large birds would love to eat…funny youd think it would be the other way around. Everything has been rescued in one form or another,if they didn’t come from an actual rescue shelter they were gotten from someone who was about to send them there.
Still just my little boy. He is a sweet rescued kitty. Rescued from the street after some asspony abandoned him. It’s amazing how well he is adjusting considering he’s lived with a few people that abandoned him he almost starved and was very hand shy (if I find out who is responsible for that they’re going to pretty hand shy themselves) and he’s the best little boy. The amount of love a cat or dog can show you is just amazing. Though he does like licking my armpits which is proof I love him cause it’s feels wrong in so many ways but since it makes him feel happy and safe it’s worth it. It hurts and tickles at the same time.
Rescued animals are the best. My guy is currently dancing on a pillow. My first cat my dad found in the woods starving to death (when he died at an old age he had been fat for pretty much 20 years) started off as a psycho cat that would attack all the time, in a short amount of time he became a cuddle bunny that learned that hissing works as well as physical attacks.
My cat Zappa died two years ago . It’s time I’m looking for another Wedge Head Siamese or Color point ! Do you have one or know anyone who does?
Every time while I’m eating. Every. Time.
The animals do seem to love human food don’t they? My Maluccan cockatoo seems to think shes a human, refuses to eat even the absolute best bird food.Shes all about tropical trail mix, pistachios, cheese and dare I say it…chicken.Yes my cockatoo eats chicken 8-X
at the moment two dogs (both adopted mutts), one small and one a larger fool, both act lovably stupid. then there are the cats (all adopted strays and barn cats) I think there are three at the moment. As for the birds (yes, pets, not meat, lol) we have about a dozen chickens, half a dozen ducks and two female turkeys. The female turkeys are awesome, they will sit down when you walk up to them and let you pet them. only one fish left at the moment, a “sucker fish”. oh, and two bunnies we got at a garage sale as “meat rabbits” (dont worry, we saved them from being a cowboys rabbit stew). we recently lost my childhood dog and cat, both had been around for longer than I have been with my wife :(( and we used to have many more chickens and duck, but the local wild life claimed many of them. we have also loved quite a few rats (really missing the last family favorite “skeever”). also had a lot of locally found “pets” like snakes and bugs, lol. had a few frogs, toads and scorpions. at one point we had even rescued a baby deer. the wife and kids love to have (and rescue) all kinds of pets/animals. im happy with dogs, rats and fowl. also some days the 3 children act more like wild animals or pets then kids, if that counts for anything ;p
My mastiff Floyd, our only pet atm(not including my son, who is quite the animal :P)

Our cockiteil and amazon both love chicken too. Kinda relived to know I’m not the only one with cannibalistic birds.
The following critters allow me to live with them…Max the Siberian husky, Cali the Australian shepperd, and 4 cats… Boji, Onxy, Felix, and Sheba. Tiny terrorists everyone.
@nikonNUT you remind me of my proof that pets are the best. If you had a human friend that did the same things they do, you would not only not love them, you’d get them out of your life. If I had a roommate that broke my stuff intentionally and occasionally made a poo on the floor they’d be out not getting cuddles. And if they’re human it wouldn’t matter how sweet and nice they are normally.
You reminded me of a Jerry Seinfeld routine… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuH6XdSh5tk
not a pet, exactly, but we are on good terms…
Prairie Dog
All the critters that I see in the backyard. Pileated woodpeckers, blue jays, eagles, vultures, even the coyotes and occasional bear. And I don’t have to feed them!
I’d like a bear in the back yard. And @Nietzsche_Keen what’s a prairie dog like for a pet. Does it have run of your house?

It’s an ok pet. It has run of the house when I’m there. It has a tendency to chew on things like a dog would, such as shoes. Otherwise it is in a cage with tunnels I’d made from pvc pipe. It runs around and follows me everywhere when I’m home. It’s cute and fun. They love to be petted and scratched. Some will let you hold them and turn them on their backs (mine won’t, she’s still a little wild natured), but they are essentially prey animals, so they can frighten easily. Also, it has a tendency, like most prey animals, to bite sometimes. It has never bitten hard, but if you try to pick it up off of the ground it will bite your fingers or hand; just enough to make you say “ouch” and put it back down, lol. They do make an awesome sound though; “Yee hoo!” Overall, it’s a sweet animal as long as you treat it like a prairie dog and not an actual dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtPQJC7ZaM8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxJEESmL70c
Thanks, that’s a neat pet!
Prairie Dog
ok, so ive spent the last hour and a half at least looking up prairie dogs and watching them on youtube. what happened to my life?

My cockatiel and budgie love chicken too though it’s technically not cannabalism, its like us eating another mammal.
Not mine, but still one of my favourites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiblYasnzWE

We’ve got two dogs, one collie-springer cross named Rosie who is the lady of the house and Suzie, a cavalier king charles spaniel who is getting on quite a bit and snores her way through most of the day.
2 dogs and 10 tarantulas. This is but one of them a Sri Lankan Ornamental.
I own a pit bull, but I think he has some blood hound mixed in somewhere along… He doesn’t really look like a pit bull is a lot longer and looks a lot more handsom then regular ugly looking pit bulls
2 dogs and 10 tarantulas. This is but one of them a Sri Lankan Ornamental.
but what does the other dog look like?
