OT Palindrome on Feb.1

Did you know that the first day of February will be a palindrome? Either way you write 01022010 it’s the same.

Very interesting. When was the last time that happened I wonder?

Yes, but wouldn’t that be 02/01/10 the way most people in the US abbreviate dates? Do they do ddmmyy in Europe? When I was in the Marines we always used the yymmdd format though so it would be 100201, which still wouldn’t be a palindrome.

Like many things, we in the US have a weird way of writing dates. It varies which punctuation mark is used, but most other nations write dates as ddmmyyyy, so it would look like 01.02.2010, or 01/02/2010.

Well…I’m an idiot. I thought this thread was gonna be about Sarah Palin. I’ve never heard of a ‘palindrome’ before now. Learn something new everyday. :slight_smile:

@zzedo - LOL… A palindrome is a word, phrase, number or other sequence of units that can be read the same way in either direction

hehe, Palin Drone… I can see Russia from my back yard (-;

is a palindrome anything like Videodrome?

A man, a plan, a canal - Panama

Dang, that’s pretty impressive, Xander! @Bob maybe Thunderdome…‘Two men enter,one man leave’

Able was I, ere I saw Elba.

Interesting the way we Americans write things. I wondered why we wrote it that way when I was a kid and my teacher or another student told the class about the way the rest of the world writes it. I always thought ours made no sense. With the European way they are in order with the American way it is out of order. strange

011110- Well, the way the US writes dates, today would also be a palindrome.

I still like this one. UFO TOFU. Which is the title of a song that is a palindrome
