OT: November 2006 … Amazing!

S

With the recent ownership change of snuffhouse … and my OCD causing me to get through every page (140, but 136 - 140 don’t have any posts) … I thought it would be a good time to post this. my snuff journey began a mere 3 months ago, I’ve used the search box often … but also, tried to go through about 5 pages of threads each day since joining … to read and learn … and reached the end this AM to see Alex’s creation from the start. Some things I noticed: Read Roderick post about his “small company” back in 07, and look where Toque is today … Read MrSnuff (Dave) come out of “lurking” for his first post back in 07, and look at MrSnuff today … largest retailer of snuff on the web. Awesome. Read Mateo (Bill) rants… priceless. Read snuffster’s early posts … and look now, current reigning Lord O’ the Snuff … and his tussle with Grim. Read many “Top 5s”, “All Day Snuffs”, “hello, newbie here”, Toasts, SPs, “how do you ______?”, “how much snuff?”, etc. threads Read arguments, but mostly generally wonderful, helpful, polite behavior throughout … with some members still posting 3,4, 5 years later to date. Read about stores coming and going, Mars being one, and about PACT panic … and it is all truly great. This group Alex started back in 2006 … look at it now. All due to the contributions of its members. This is such a strong site … offering varied demographics, worldly input, and wonderful, historical stories. glad i found this site, this snuff, this TAD … and feel lucky … if i consider all the choices and information about snuff we currently have at the click of a mouse … how hard it was to come by earlier for founding site members, but now available in great amounts due to the members and this forum. Thanks for that! Cheers and a Pinch!!! There isn’t much you can’t find about snuff here … the “search” box works! Thanks. Sorry for OT and length.

M

One thing I noticed from the older posts… Alex was present in almost every conversation. I always assumed in the beginning is was him and just a few other members. I guess he wanted to keep the threads going so people didn’t lose interest. It worked!!

K

This is not OT, this is ROT (Right On Topic). I love Snuffhouse. It is part of my daily routine. Helped me a lot for quitting the ugly cig habit. Thanks to the owners and members. Long live Snuffhouse!

S

Yeah, when I joined (over 2 years ago, to my surprise!) I read every post there was and it was really interesting and enjoyable. So, thanks all for the information I’ve gleaned over the years.

B

been on here for over a year now and check every day, even though I’m only an occasional poster. Be lost without snuffhouse!

W

I’ve been here over 4 years, and still come on everyday and post. I love this site and it’s wonderful community. I’ve seen many faces come and go, but it is still the best site on the web. Stefan

A

I agree with Kebamp - ROT definitely. Thanks for a very interesting thread. I guess there are only a handful of the originals left; I was ‘second generation’, and its great to see them still posting. You will have read a lot of Troutstroker’s posts; he was one member I thought would be active for ever, but you can never tell and of course people have to deal with lifes changing patterns. A lot of people have a very active period and them move on to other things. I always think that we have the same half dozen or so converstaions - just repeated on an endless loop! Maybe you could update this thread on the 10th anniversary? But you have to stay on the site to do that!

B

Darn near everything, make that everything, I learned about snuff in my first year was found or alluded to here. I don’t post much as I can’t add anything helpful that hasn’t already been said better and by people with more knowledge, but SnuffHouse is a daily read for me. Some days more than once.

W

I’ll still be here for the 10th anniversary, hopefully anyway lol. Stefan

S

@snuffster … yes, read a lot from troutstroker … times do change a lot, and life allows or doesn’t allow us the time to peruse this forum … luckily I work in front of a computer all day, checking this forum regularly. Let’s hope i am still around for the 10th anniversary as well … and be glad to rinse and repeat on this thread. let’s hope we are all enjoying snuff, unencumbered by govt, PACT, or anything else at the 10yr mark as well.

S

Yes, it seems that the search can unlock all sorts of drama and whatnot in this forum’s history! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with people having the same discussions over and over again, it’s inevitable that the same general subjects will keep cropping up but it keeps things going… although I guess it must be a bit like Groundhog Day for members that have been here a long time!

X

and I only consider myself a sophmore here (class of '09)

A

You don’t get tired of discussing things you are interested in, as a rule. The six month period tends to seperate the fanatics from the rest though.

S

I guess that makes me a fanatic, then? I was actually quite surprised to see that I’m in that same class (albeit six months late) as @Xander. When I first joined he had the appearance of having been an eternal feature of the site, and I come to find out he’s only been on half a year longer than myself.

A

I suppose it does. It is interesting watching the different characters come and go, its a wide spectrum.

H

I want to say thanks for such a place as Snuffhouse. Why, even my wife doesn’t get mad anymore when I check it on a daily basis. The civility exercised here always amazes me and means there’s a chance of more of that elsewhere in the world! Three cheers.

S

@hooked - Yes, and IMO that’s why it’s a good thing that discussions about politics, religion etc. are generally not allowed here. Such discussions usually just end up getting out of hand.

A

Yep. Every now and again we get someone complaining that they cant argue about politics etc on the site but experience shows it just ends up in open slanging and warfare. Some people like that but its just wrong for this place.

T

I love this forum the way it is. Everyone on here is very friendly.

A

Agreed, I promise it wont be changing and as long as there is an internet and Im on this Earth Snuffhouse will be here for ya.

B

My favorite part about when people argue here. Is there is always one person who likes to play freedom fighter victim. You know the what right do you have to tell an adult not to act like a child with a dump in their diaper. They are also always confused about censorship, or they think the goverment owns snuffhouse (since censorship is when the goverment tells you not to say it). Oh if this describes you at some point, don’t worry it describes me at some points too.

A

Lol, you are right. The people that think there is a right to be here amuse me. I remember one guy a few years ago being told to reign his neck in, to which he made the unforgettable reply ‘this is AMERICA man’.

P

No *%$***in @@**&%!nt is gonna f**&&*&"! well tell ME what I F*&*&*&££$! CAN AND CANT f*&*%$%&* SAY! **nt. Papa Doc for eVER!

A

Something like that.

S

Haha! Yes, it’s just about common sense and respect, I would say. And snuff.

P

this thread is now about Mateo

A

He was more irritant than abusive.

A

Are YOU or have you ever been mateo?

H

Are you asking me if I’ve ever “done snuff with Shaolin Monks while Overlooking Luoyang on Mount Huanyuan”?

A

Exactly that. ^5 bru!

A

Right on, ^5 indeed!

S

Nice new changes to the forum… namely, being able to type your username instead of email address to log in, and being able to view how many posts people have made and see them all listed. Only problem seems to be that people’s avatars aren’t showing up…
