OT: My wife has asbestosis cancer

During Febr this year, my wife was diagnosed with asbestosis. She was operated on and we were told that it was not malignant but also warned that it might change. Three months ago she went for a checkup and everything was fine. Then she started coughing again, went for a scan on Monday and today we were told that the worst has happened. We will know by tomorrow what the prognosis is but the doctor already told us that there is very little to be done. Please pray for us, please!!

I’m so sorry to hear that Pieter, my thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Im sorry to hear that , I hope she recovers !

I am so sorry pieter I went through something similar with my wife. I will pray for her. And give her our love. From Andy and Cathy.

Hold on to every glimmer of hope.

Not good, Pieter. We’ll be praying for you two.

Pieter, and Mrs Claassen and kids are in my thoughts and prayers. Hope it turns out better than it sounds. Never give up hope. Stefan

Pieter … thoughts are with you … hoping for the best.

That’s the worst kind of news to hear, my sincerest best wishes to you both. My Dad is a cancer sufferer and this year has been an absolute rollercoaster of emotions, he was diagnosed in March and endured a very long treatment of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Initially he was diagnosed with two types of cancer, and the prognosis looked very grave indeed, but further tests revealed that the initial diagnosis was wrong and it was a single strain of cancer he was suffering from, and that its treatability looked more viable. He has been massively stoic throughout the whole ordeal, but I know it’s been exceptionally hard for him, at 72, both physically and emotionally. We will find out on Tuesday whether the treatment has been successful, and everyone in our family has every available limb and digit crossed for him. I’ll keep all my spare digits crossed for you and your wife, Pieter. As Brigstowe said, hang on to hope at all times, hope is the most powerful ally we have sometimes.

@Pieter, my prayers are with you and your wife, my friend.

@Pieter, that sucks. Prayers being said here as well.

Prayers and telepathic support to your wife, yourself, and all those close to you, Pieter. One Love.

I’ll pray for you and call my parents and have them keep you in their prayer group. I’m sorry to hear the bad news and Pray for the best. Good luck.

Vigil at shrine of St. Thérèse of Lisieux for her.

My thoughts are with you and your loved one.

I pray for you and your wife.

My thoughts are with you and your family Pieter.

I am so sorry to hear that Pieter; of course you will both be in my thoughts and prayers. If you can, or want to, please let us know what happens.

It takes a lot of courage to share that. If you ever need anyone to chat with, feel free to contact me. I’ll be sending only good thoughts your way. I do know that when things are down, sometimes, it is only a matter of time, before good stuff comes

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Pieter
