I just had to show off the watch my wife got me for our first anniversary yesterday. It wouldn’t show up in the picture, but the back is engraved with our wedding date.

WOW man!!! I love watches, same as Troutstroker. What make is it? It is beautiful. I will sell my …ah wait, I might get into trouble with the moderators! I will go to any length to buy a watch when I fancy it. A nice watch, fountain pen or a good pocket knife is all you need to twist my arm. I’ve spent 1,000’s of rands on those items.

Colibri are wellknown for their pocket watches and the one you’ve got is very nice. I like the day and date hands, it makes it different from the usual layout. Are you going to use it or will it be kept for special occasions?
I think I am going to use it regularly. Obviously I won’t take it fishing or hunting, and I doubt if I’ll take it with me to work when I go back. But other than that I plan to have it with me 90% of the time. It goes well with my hankie, silver snuffbox, and the vest/waistcoat I got a couple weeks ago. Makes me feel fancy

Every bit the prim and proper gentleman. Colibri of London, Very nice multi-function pocket watch leman, got your day, date & 24hr subdial. love that blue sunray dial. That is known as the hunter case style. Is that a japanese quartz or a true mechanical? I used to carry a pocket watch a lot when working on cars. It would prevent accidental scratches on the cars and my watch. I have a nice Colibri of London pipe lighter. Happy Anniversary. Hope there are many more to come.

@ Trout - it is quarts movement. I wish it was mechanical, but I imagine they get a bit more expensive. And thanks again for the well wishes.
