Hello everyone this is a health related question. Until i can get myself some real snus im stuck with this crappy pack of Skoal Bandits. (Mini pouches if you didnt know) I dont like using them because i cant stop it from getting all juicy even when one is in my upper lip. So now im drying one out for a test and essentially creating a mini “white portion” my question… im wondering if this makes it less harmful too? the way i see it, i wont have these vile juices all around my mouth now and its just a dry pouch in one spot. does anyone know if this makes it even slightly safer?

I don’t think it’s really “unsafe” to begin with. Try it, I don’t think it’d hurt.

The nitrosamines are still there, dry or not. Eventually the juice will still kick in. If you are really hard up for snus, go get some Camel.

thanks cstokes. also 1 more thing, OT once again… i dont know if you know much about pipe smoking but is it somewhat lower risk in comparison to dipping?

You can still get cancer from smoking a pipe. Most get it on the tongue or on the roof of their mouth.

sorry im full of questions, i love enjoying tobacco i know there are risks but i dont want to stop, its just too pleasurable. so is nasal snuff high or low in nitrosamines? and why is it that no one is getting cancer from nasal snuffing?

Scotches are higher in nitrosamines than their European and Indian couterparts, but still safer.

thanks. i wonder where i could find information on this topic since im so uneducated about it. since i cant buy snuff at the store, i would make it out of cigars. sometimes the natural ones called backwoods. is this more dangerous than using real snuff

I have no idea what the levels are like in Backwoods. Just do a search on here for “TSNA” and the like.

As much as I revile Skoal bandits, I’d never recommend Camel snus over them. That’s just wrong, man. Ick! Anyway, I don’t think you have to worry about TSNAs if you’re just doing this as a one off. It takes years of repeated use to cause cancer.

i like those backwoods cigars i think they are cool becasue of how sloppy they are rolled. i get the metnal image of granny from beverly hillbillies in her rocking chair rollingt hem on her thigh. hehe prolly explains the faint mustiness.
