I was wondering what style of facial hair all you gents (I’m omiting the ladies from this for obvious reasons) are currently sporting on your face? Untill yesterday I had a full, medium length beard, then shaved last night to a Franz Josep(h) which I’ve had before and love having. How about you? Pictures if you’ve got them. (The pic is of the one I had around Christmas last year, the one I have now is much better…)

S

Well here’s one of me in wonky colors. I’ll see what else I can dig up.

S

I shave all the hair on my face and head

M

I live or die by my moustache!

J

Koba22 I would love to do that but how the hell do you get it straight ? The sides and lines etc . Is their some trick ?

J

Can I ask peeps here how u stop snuff plastering you’r beard ??? I always look like hitler when my bears is short lol

K

@Mr. Nose my good man that moustache is glorious! What wax do you use? I’m going to be growing mine for Grow a Mo, Save a Bro Mo(vember) and I’m going to need some. @joe I’m not really sure, I just grow a full beard and then shave it. I use a Merkur safety razor with Merkur blades which are pretty decent and just do it a bit at a time. I’ll put up a pic of the Franz I have at the moment in a bit. With regards to ‘plastering’ my facial hair is pretty dark, so the brown smudging I get doesn’t show up, plus snuff doesn’t make me sneeze so I don’t get much of it anyway.

J

Thanks @koba22 I don’t sneeze now much (well apart from the odd fit as mentioned in Nother topic ) its getting it up their from the back of my hand … Tecnique wrong I gues

K

Just taken a couple of pictures. Sorry about the vacant look and the odd expression, I don’t really like having them taken! Looking at them, you can really see the brown staining on the tache which I didn’t notice before.

J

Love the shape !! Oooo I feel bad now haha everyone’s going to notice their Brown tashes even more !!! But I may give that shape a try …

B

I just let mine grow and shave it off when it gets long enough to bother me. Being a hairy git it only takes me a few weeks to have a substantial beard.

P

I’ve experimented with a number of facial hair styles over the years, but keep coming back to a closely cropped jawline version of the short boxed style:

B

I usually let it grow a bit heavier for the upcoming Winter.

T

I’ve had a full beard (with one brief, unfortunate interlude) since I was 18.

A

Handsome fellas here!

H

Howdy! This is how I used to look… When I was an aspirant to a monastery and the abbot told me that the handlebars would probably have to go, I cut them off the same night. I now sport a short goatee instead.

J

Just the sideburns; it’s all I can grow. Can’t grow a mustache or goatee; ends up looking like a toilet brush.

M

I had a beard when I was 18 until 20 or late 19. I did a mustache, but I looked like John Holmes. Now, I shave every day. It sucks getting old. Don’t get me started on nose/ear hair. Had I known what shaving entailed when I was a kid, I would have never wanted to start. I never would have thought that nose hair needed to be trimmed in the same interval as shaving… We certainly are animals. I did the straight razor routine for 8 years, the safety razor routine for a couple years, but switched to a disposable. I have said it before and I will say it again, I know why so many guys had beards back then, when straight razors were all that were available… Because they are such a PitA. I should probably shave twice a day, but such is life.

M

@Koba22: I make my own mustache wax. It’s simply a mix of beeswax and petroleum jelly. Adjusting proportions to get the consistency you need. I need a stiffer wax so I use more beeswax. I also add jojoba oil for conditioning, and essential oils to give it a nice scent. @Joe: I keep the drips out of my moustache for the most part. Everyonce in awhile it will become a small disaster though. Yesterday at work I blew out some SG Kendal Brown and got a nice cake of it in my stache. It comes off pretty easily with a hanky though, I just have to reshape my curls afterwards.

T

I don’t have a moustache, but I normally wear a gotee… (is that how you spell it?) It keeps my chin warm in the winter!

H

You must have fairly mild winters transistor… Up in the remote frozen hinterlands, moisture from your breath will condense on the moustache and beard, turn to ice and give you frostbite! Many is the time when I have had 4 inch icicles hanging from my handlebars!

B

need to get a pick of my facial hair. It’s a reverse hitler. Middle removed and handle bars on the end.

D

@minux, I’m surprised to read that you found straight razors a hassle! I started using them 4-5 years ago and haven’t looked back. There’s nothing like scooping a wide swathe of hair (and the odd mole) off your face with a sound like tearing paper :o) I do admit that it’s time consuming though, and I don’t shave every day. I have a goatee. Not the circus strongman type with a mustache, but the chin-only type. I won it in a competition when I was 16. I had a beard growing competition with a school friend, and won. Had it ever since.

P

Hmmm… I’m acquainted with several British gay men, and I can’t think of a single one who has a moustache. Strange things, these sweeping generalizations.

D

Same here, the only people I know in the UK with moustaches (see, I used the British spelling :)) are straight. I often wonder about moustaches. They are commonplace now, so they look normal, but what was the first guy to ever have a 'tache thinking? “I know, I’ll shave of all of my facial hair except the part on my upper lip…”

P

He was probably related to some guy who looked like this: http://beardteamusa.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/jonathanrice-freestyle-winner-lores-199x300.jpg

Your Welcome bob

Anyone interested in facial hair should check out ‘all about beards’ - a very eccentric site.

B

Seriously it’s a ton of fun haveing handle bar mustaches. It is amazing the amount of postive attention it brings. It is also amazing how it brands you as a harmless loveable eccentric in a way that makes it easier for people to believe that it is actualy tobacco you’re shoving up your nose. Though I do recomend removing the middle part of the stache so that it doesn’t collect snuff.

B

I’am also debating sharing this link on facebook but am afraid it might cause the some of the ladies to move to england before I do. (yes woman love a man with a mustache that they can hold onto.)

D

If you move to England, I’m sure the moustache would go down well. However, don’t grow large sideburns because people will shout “Bugger grips” at you.

T

As a chap who sports a moustache, often waxed; I must say there is nothing more manly than a moustache with a gentlemanly dusting of snuff. The ladies love it.

P

@John SnuffHead, where is your picture? I know you sport a nice moustache!!

@talljim ha ha goodluck with that! Seriously though… grow a moustache and try to get women around here… I’d LOVE to see that on hidden camera… could be slightly amusing
