OT: East Coast-Please be careful!

We went to the grocery to stock up for this long snowy weekend. While pulling out we were involved in something like a seven car pileup. Everyone was fine and my car isn’t damaged (that I can tell), but it was very scary. We couldn’t stop moving and apparently the guy behind us couldn’t either, because he hit us from behind. The collision spun my car sideways and we then got hit on the driver’s side, spinning the car to face the truck that hit us. Eventually the cops showed up and got everyone out. Please be careful…it’s awful out.

Glad you are ok! Heck of a storm, I just spent and hour cleaning snow off of the boats, over a foot now, and where I cleared the boats two feet. Just waiting for the snow to slow down to snow blow, real pain with a 1/4 mile driveway.

It snowing heavily here too, but we don’t have that depth of snow. Lots more up on the hills near here of course. The snow won’t be stopping me getting to the pub this evening

Damn, I’m glad it only snows once every few years here! The idiots around here don’t even know how to drive in the rain, let alone the snow and ice. It’s nice knowing that I don’t have to wake up early in the mornings to scrape snow off of the vehicles before I leave. I had enough of that living up north.

@Snuffy: Glad you and yours are OK! Sorry about the damages… but… WooHoo!!! Got about 6-8 inches here already, and it’s supposed to snow for another 12 hours… I do, indeed, hope that everyone’s safe, but I do love the snow almost as much as I love snuff!!!

What is snow?

So why is everybody complaining about their roads if the white thing is sitting on top of an African mountain? OK, we do see snow here in the Western Cape but only on top of the mountains. We actually welcome it because it feeds our water reserves.

Got about a foot here now and five or six hours to go. Woo hoo!!! Today we will build the snowman of all snowmen. My goal is a 7’ tall one! That and I cannot wait to use my snow blower. I do my elderly neighbors driveway too so I’ll get my fill.

Dang, that much snow sounds like a blast if you’re in the right mindset…we just got a grass dusting, maybe 2 in. round here. Enjoy it while you’ve got it-wouldn’t mind seeing some pictures of the deep stuff! Some Yeti photos would be interesting as well…

However awful shoveling snow may be, there’s nothing quite as bracing as taking a good wallop of mentholated snuff when you come in from the cold.

Obviously no snow down here in Florida but we got killed with rain a few days ago. I’m loving my new cell phone so I shot a video of the flooding in the street right in front of my house. I sent it to the local news station and they showed it! I’m gonna try to make this into a link, but if it doesn’t work heres a link to copy / past. Oh and by the way it was much worse in other areas! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9uf\_\_0Rx8kFlooded street

Mark, you really have a nice, big yard! Is that your blue bike sitting against the wall?

Edit: No! That’s a girl’s bike Pieter! Are you trying to imply something? : )

Pieter, the amazing thing about my yard is that’s a block from the beach. Check out my website and you’ll see more pictures of my clients and my yard.MarkThe Pet Sitter

Not fair Pieter! You had me wondering where you saw a bike in that video. Watched it 3 times before I realized you were watching the “dogs playing in the yard” video. Anyone here ever see the viva la bam episode where they built a huge snowman and the mom comes to the window complimenting the snowman but not realizing that under the base snowball is her PT Cruiser. Then she got revenge when she was going shopping and said she was going to call the purple cab co. and they told her there’s no taxi’s around here. Next thing you know the garage door opens and she takes off in Bam’s purple lamborghini in 4 inches of snow.

I was wondering the same thing, that’s why I edited. I didn’t you could see my other video.

Well, it was far too cold for a snowman (the snow wouldn’t stick together around our house) and I have forgotten hot to attach pictures to here. We still had a heck of a lot of fun though. Here’s a link of a collection of MA snow pictures. http://media2.myfoxboston.com/html/galleries/09/viewer-pics-dec-20/indexGallery.htm
