So Im back here responding to people who said they are willing to send me / sell me Scotch snuff… which is otherwise so hard to find online and from outside USA. And in case no one answers to my PMs Im having a look at vintage scotch snuffs at eBay. I heard thats a way of aquiring scotch snuff. But what kind of quality can I expect from a snuff which has been sealed in its tin for decades? Anyone with any experience in regards to this?
If they are in glass jars or bottles with the tax stamp intact they may be usable . It’s a gamble; if it was stored in a musty basement or a greasy garage that what it will smell like, also rust is a factor. You do see some in the newer plastic tins grab those.
This one looks OK http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Bruton-Snuff-Tin-Nashville-Tennessee-4-65-OUNCE-full-/141554853282?pt=LH\_DefaultDomain\_0&hash=item20f553a5a2
Great, got it! Thanks a lot!
I have never purchased any, but have looked at snuff boxes for a while and unopened snuff always shows up in the listings. Some times there are very good deals. I can not say if it was good snuff. A lot of time it is $5 per tin on average for 20+ year old snuff. You may also try contacting Swisher. They sell it by the case. Not sure where you are but good luck!
