This will make my fourth snuff order. I am very happy with my last order from mrsnuff so I revisited. I ordered mostly WOS last time with the emphasis on SP’s and toasts. The only snuff I may not reorder is the sp2. Something about it just struck me as odd. I like it but am not desiring more. Anyhow in my last order I picked up a SG KENDAL BROWN and it really peaked my interest in sg products. I ordered a 25 gram tin of apple, sp1, scotch black, irish d light, and vanilla. I enjoy the Kendal Brown though it sometimes clogs me up. I also ordered Frederick tranter sp, F&T HDT, a reorder, toque quit, molens gingerbread, wilsons blackberry and crumbs of comfort. This should hold me over although I still want to make a nice sized bulk order of toque. Quit, W&H and SP extra. Anyway I hope I enjoy the gawith offerings I am really looking forward to them. If the shipping is about the same as usual should be here next Thursday:)
Great company love the vac tight tin I found if you like anything from SG stock up. I here it a small co.with a dozen or so employees.when it comes to their pipe leaf I find it difficult to acquire.
Never like menthol’s in the past but the menthol dark and the peppermint dark are a refreshing break and great to tweak with other great snuff .Just did a 50/50mix SG. peppermint and Dholakia Swiss chocolate the effects stick around Kool.
I love the Black Rappee. Pure and simple.
The only major problem with SG Kendal Brown is that it’s hard to get in bulk. I’ve only found one place that sells it in bulk (and will ship to the US, anyway) and they took like a month to fill my order. I am contemplating trying the Viking Dark next paycheck. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it, and since Mr Snuff carries it in bulk obtaining large quantities shouldn’t be a problem.
I like the natural flavor SG has to offer the kendal brown. Looking forward to some of their other offerings.
@DanielO I ordered a 25 gram tin of Viking Dark with my recent order. I’ll post my thoughts about it when I get to try some.
@Vathek I too think that SG tins are the best of the snuff world. The only way I have been able to get one open is with a spoon though.
Viking Dark is a constant in my daily rotation at this point. When I leave the house I typically take a Toast, Viking Dark and one other snuff with me.
My latest order was for a 500 gram tube and a tin of Elmo’s.
SG, F&T, WoS - all work for me and i love´em all (of course, not all offerings but all 3 companys - they are my alltime favorite producers of snuff :-)
i know, it may a bit off topic here but just had to write that down XD
@Slide if you haven’t had it yet Elmo’s is really nice. IMO it’s got the burn of Viking dark with a Vanilla scent.
Love Royal George–nice strong flavor with good burn and nic hit…
Speaking of the SG’s, has anybody tried any of the new ones-besides the Elmo’s. One is hazelnut, one guarana (not tobacco free), and the other one is something like Celtic Talisman. Just curious…
I have the Guarana one. It interested me because finally one company came out with an energy snuff with tobacco. It’s pretty good. I don’t love it, but it’s nice. I will order another one in the future.
I have the Guarana also, almost fruity with a cooling quality different from menthol.
Can’t wait to try the Guarana. How is the nicotine level?
guyarana nic level is pretty low in my opinion
Hmm, interesting. I was on the SG website and noticed that there’s a Celtic Talisman pipe tobacco too- same deal as the Grousemoor(e)- but I heard about the grousemoor pipetob. first. I’m guessing the matching monikers are mostly referring to the scents but idk. Also, are the new ones only available in the tapboxes?
Celtic Talisman pipe tobacco is a cherry-vanilla blend.
Good to know! Do you have some? If so is it good?
If SG follows suit with the Celtic Talisman as they did with the Grousemoor, don’t expect them to be anything alike. Grousemoor mixture is a golden virginia blend with a subtle sweetness and a slight floral background, Grousemoor Plug is dark virginias with a whole lot more of what the mixture has going on and Grousemoor snuff is nothing at all like the pipe blends; mostly floral, leathery and no sweetness to be found. I like all of the aforementioned Grousemoors, but don’t even see a family resemblance between the pipe blends and the snuff.
Interesting! I’ve still got some of the mixture (Grousemoor), of which I can remember the scent. And a bit of the snuff, but I don’t think I’ve tried it yet. This is rather curious, I’ve been getting tempted to get some of the 1792 plug (whatever it’s called), and so am curious if it’s pretty much like the flake- which is lovely strong stuff. Oh well I’ve got too much pipe tobacky anyways…
Cob Plug is the same as 1792 Flake just in plug form. I’ve got two pounds of the plug; one lb I failed to take very good care of for awhile and it lost a lot of the tonquin essence, the other pound is just like the flake and quite delicious. Actually they are both quite delicious, but one is sweeter than the other.
