Have you tried this browser? I have it on an old outdated Micron laptop, running Puppy Linux, and it is impressing me. Pretty darn fast on this old doorstop. It has some pretty cool features, as well. Of course the first time I booted it up, it told me it’s out of date and needs to be updated.
When I put together lightweight systems, I always put Opera on as an alternative. I remember when Opera was the only browser that used tabs.
Opera is great, both for PCs and mobiles/PDAs. Best Norwegian invention since cheese slicer!
Yeah Opera is a nice browser i have it on the laptop and nokia mobile phone - the opera turbo feature is great if your on a slow or 3g mobile internet connection and opera unite file sharing services are pretty cool as well. Add blocking is easy enough to set up by editing the opera urlfilter.ini file but would be better with an add block add on like firefox / chrome. I installed ‘firedog’ web browser on puppy linux, its a bit old but is the fastest browser i have used so far on puppy linux, defiantly rate it over seamonkey.
Stu90, I have Firedog too, but found Opera to run circles around it, at least on my old lappy. I am thrilled to be able to put this old win98 machine to good use. It is build like a tank - weighs like 9 or 10 lbs, almost 2 inches thick. lol The best part? My kids won’t even touch it. ha.
