Ive got a couple snuff tins that are God knows how old, and they are stuck. Ive used rubber gloves, run it under cold or hot water, but none of it is working for these stubborn tins. Anyone have a go to way to open tins like that?

If they are WoS, I used a small knife/pocket knife in the groove and slight turn up. That’s been my exp with stubborn tins.

I use the bottle opener/flat screwdriver head of my swiss army knife. The can opener works great for cleaning under the fingernails too! (I have a Wenger.)

I destroy the tin at that point.

Go ahead and destroy it! Just do it over a piece of paper. Grab pliers, an olde-timey can opener, an old screwdriver, bolt cutters, whatever. Just don’t hurt yourself in the process…

They are strong Clove, so it will be worth it. Especially around this time of year.

Turn it on it side and tap it with a hammer while rolling it cross a paper covered surface.
