I’m surprised I haven’t found this mentioned anywhere yet. I’m wondering what you are supposed to do with the plastic lid underneath the metal lid of a tin of 6 Photo Kailash? I just cut a sort of a hole there and fill up another snuff bottle I have bit by bit with a nail filer… : P But something tells me you’re supposed to be able to remove that plastic lid in some other way I haven’t figured out yet.
So it’s pretty much a tin which is meant for decanting into something else, huh? (I tend to like the tall long tins (Railroad Mills) you can pinch from sort of by sliding the pinch up across the walls of the tin.)
I do as per Lunecat, with a scissor blade. I’m not convinced they do come out any other way. Maybe it’s a token attempt to make us give up tobacco. :)) I love the look of the tins, but wish they came with a sticker in the style of the rest of the tin that you could bung over the 'orrible warning picture.
I assume this is the same lid as used in the 41 photo White Elephant tin. I push the plastic down along the inside; it usually comes loose without breaking.
I cut around it with a sharp knife–same as the foil seals on some of the other Indian snuffs.

White Elephant seems to be the exception. I have found it to be the only Indian that comes in a metal tin with the plastic disc that sometimes allows the disc to free itself without leaving plastic stuck under the lip of the tin.
Well, I had to try the pushing technique, and it worked… I managed to push the disc down and pull it out. With quite some force I might add. …even though i already made a semi-hole there from before and the plastic kinda ripped from some of the rest of it… and the rest of it I managed to pull out with pliers… To be honest, the “pushing it inwards” technique never would have occured to me, lol. PS: The tin’s not half bad to pinch from actually, at least now when it’s almost full… PPS: I love this snuff! Very exotic, it’s exactly like incense to me, very Indian, it’s my new day/work-snuff, there is some menthol there so it’s kind of perky… but not enough menthol to cause congestion issues.
I just cut the plastic out & decant to a wide mouth jar. Makes for easier pinching.
Yeah, that’s probably the best way.
