Well, after just over a year snuffing I’ve gone from the mild nicotine snuffs to toasts. Not exclusively mind, but my preferences are going towards the high nic snuffs. I’m guessing this is inevitable? To you folks; does this mean I’ll be hoovering up the fearsome indian white snuffs in a years time?

C

Years time? You’re ready today young grasshopper! That Indian snuff is calling for your nose.

F

@Cigshurtmylungs; yes, maybe I answered my own question. The good thing is I still enjoy the mild snuffs, such as Toque Coltsfoot. I just take bigger bumps of them.

May I ask you if you’ve tried WoS natural and does it smell " farmy " to you by any chance?

F

I haven’t tried that one. Farmy can be good though by all accounts. Is it farmy in the sense of barnyard or in the sense of cattle doings?

I’d have to go with farm, like hay and the environment. No poo or cow smell thankfully lol

The same thing has happened in my time snuffing somewhat. I am a just over 2 years in and I started out doing small pinches and trying all the different types that I could. Toasts are by far what I use the most of now. I am finding the journey very interesting, I still have trouble describing scent but I detect way more subtle things than when I first started. Also by purchasing so many different snuffs it is a real treat to rediscover a snuff that I initially did not get on with. The white snuffs are now so much easier too. I always carry a tap box of Dholakia White in my work bag in case I run out of or forget my snuff and snus. White Elephant and Cheeta are now regulars of mine where in the beginning I only tried mini pinches of them and that would have me coughing my head off. Also I noticed in the winter time my snuffing slows down much and I use more snus. I want to figure out how to avoid this happening this year. Enjoy the journey @Franknsnuff‌ , this really is a great hobby and I think the benefits of tobacco far out way any harm that may befall us in the future.

F

Cheers @willc‌ , you too.

While you are looking at more fine snuffs to try I would also hope that you have heavier snuffs to try. After one year I would think all types of snuff would be tested. With the variety of types available using one type or the other does not indicate some kind of graduation. There is no prerequisite for the taking of any snuff. We snuff what we like.

Young Grasshopper. Cracking me up. If you hang around here long enough you’ll see more than a casual mention of terms like cat piss, barnyard with a side of composted manure, etc. When my Cajun relatives didn’t much care for something’s olfactory impact it was “L’Odeur de Cul”*. If and when I hear that in regard to snuff, I’m doing a 180 and start hitting the Camel Nons again. *Loosely translated as The Scent of Ass. I don’t think it was an equine reference.

S

These noob conversations leave me in tears. Lol

@Franknsnuff‌ Go for the Indian White’s ! You have nothing to “fear” but fear itself. Enjoy !

** comment removed ** @Franknsnuff My snuff journey was quite similar to yours. Nowadays I’m mostly a toast user, with some Bernards and Hedges thrown in. I feel Indians, both plain and medicated, white and black, are my next stop…

S

@MarvinLapsus Indians are the coaches of a fast train you´ll never be able to get off completely… 6photo Natural is (main) part of my daily snuff diet. I keep mentholated indians for cool weather

K

Here’s hoping my Dholakia White shows up todayl

B

everyone finds their groove, indian snuffs are worth exploring, some are very exotic.

F

@MarvinLapsus I’m beginning to wonder if there really is a natural evolution with one’s snuffing. A friend of mine is about six months behind me and he’s just gone from Poschl to Toque; he says he feels the latter is now the way to go.

F

Cheers for our responses folks. I’m guessing I will get to the indian snuffs, but not until I have mastered F&T HDT. Unfortunately when my nose is totally clear and I can get the full benefits I tend to over sniff it. When I’m blocked I don’t have that problem but can’t fully appreciate what it has to offer.

M

@Franknsnuff The same happens to me every time! I get a clean nose, then I overdo it with F&T or with sticky Kailash, two snuffs that I love but that are really difficult to wipe clean of the nose without using water and that hit the back of the throat sometimes, even when using them carefully and in big pinches. En fin, c’est la vie! Perhaps we’re wrong thinking the key for everything is in moderation, so we shouldn’t care about our present excess.

So far I indent the side of my nose I wish to snuff from as high up as the moveable cartilage is. I started with toque menthol and wilsons natural and they are both easy
