One thing thats really peeing me off at the moment with my snuffing is my left nostril. My right nostril with care will deposit snuff it the appropriate part of my nasal cavity, whereas my left nostril will taken whatever it’s given and courier it directly to my tonsils or the back of my eyeball (or feels like it anyway) Anyone else have to snuff differently between the two nostrils?
Constantly. I always do a test sniff (without snuff) to see which one is moving more air. I use the freer one second.
Your nose has a nasal cycle, one nostril closes and one opens and they switch every few hours. Wikipedia goes so far as to say we have “two noses”. When my nose is REALLY stuffed I’ll dump out some Royal George and roll up some paper and snort it like it’s something harder than tobacco, that always does the trick. Before I take a pinch I always check to see what nostril is “open” and I take it in the closed nostril first (I’m a two-pinch kinda guy). When using extremely fine, dry snuffs like D White I’ll usually just sniff it into the closed nostril to avoid severe throat hit.
Interesting! With me it usually seems to be my right nostril that behaves and my left that is difficult (too fast), although they do vary in flow. Also interesting to see you two both doing the slow nostril first. Any reason?
My right nostril is always slower, ever since I smashed myself in the face (by accident!) breaking a tooth and a nose in the process while attempting to disassemble a pallet for kindling.
=)) … sorry! @Mouse we need details Did you forget your axe and try to see what your face was capable of doing instead?
How did you manage that, mate?
LOL, one of my more ungraceful moves. Pallets are free heat. I get the broken ones and saw them up into stove-sized pieces. Being somewhat lazy I break off the ones that have come loose on one side of the skid. When you’re down to one 2x4 skid and a single cross-piece they can be unmanageable if one is over-enthusiastic and dumb. Damned thing jumped up and bit me.
I am right handed by brainwashing ,taught to write with my right hand, although I can use my left hand just as well.My right side nostril is prone to have faster flow for some odd reasoning. And it seems my left side clogs more often

For me it’s because if I take it in the open nostril first, when I take it in the closed nostril the snuff in the open nostril will shoot back to my throat.

I too was contorted in this fashion, now ambidextrous. My right hand does left handed things." Damn yarn around the fingers ". My nose too, has the same set up. Small world.
