Sadly the 2015 vintage of Olde English Toast (The Balkan) has gone on to meet its maker, pushing up the daisies, let go the mortal coil, &c.

The 2016 vintage, Olde English Toast (Mr. Sandman) will be a bit more powerful with a tobacco bill of:

Piedmont Red Virginia

Stoved Eastern Carolina Bright Leaf

Lemon Virginia from Canada

Izmir

Yenidje

Prilep

Cyprian Latakia

Black Cavendish

St. James Perique

Green River Dark Fired Burley

I’m still evaluating the percentages of each leaf but it will definitely fit into the category as established by the '14 and '15 vintages, all the leaf will be gently toasted before blending and aging in wee oak barrels.

Coming from pipes, that sounds like a good blend to smoke. I just got into snuff, I’ll have to try it sometime.

Looking forward to it.  Whether it’s the aroma or nicotine level, I am always in favor of “a bit more powerful”.

awesome. Looking forward to it.

That sounds amazing. Summer? You should make a Green River DFB puro at some point. Call it a Scotch.

@Hitsuzen  Should be early summer if all goes well with the toasting and aging.  Once compounded it will need a few months in the barrel to get it together.

That Green River Dark Fired is definitely do-able.  After the new year I’ll contact some friends up there and see what they’ve got from past crop years, as this year’s isn’t ready yet.

Caveat; this is going to be an ass kicker in the nicotine delivery department and might be a bit much in the smoke area too.  Not sure, but I may need to temper that with some of the dark air cured from the same farm to maintain puro status.

Great idea.
