I love this snuff but its damn troublesome for me to use,usualy end up with half falling from my nose,any experts of this snuff out there with advice for me. Cheers simon
Simon, just let it breathe for a while. I transfered a bit to a snuffbox and left it open for 24 hours…perfect. But leave the rest of the snuff in the screw down tin. Just add a bit to your snuffbox from time to time. The dryer snuff in the snuffbox will “fix” the moist stuff. Same with Santo Domingo. And it does not take anything away from the aroma, believe you me. I LOVE that snuff.
I had another problem with this snuff. I guess because of the moisture the aluminium of the tin was already oxidised and the snuff contaminated with that. I will avoid to buy moist F&T snuffs in the future…
I’ve had a can of Bordeaux for about 2 years, no oxidation. The snuff is still fresh as a daisy.
Pieter,i have just put some in an empty tin and will air it overnight,will let you know how i get on,thanks for the advice. Simon
didi878 / cstokes4, I never had such a problem. Only tins that rust is the ones from McChrystals. I always transfer McChrystals to another container the moment I open the tin.
Oh, it was actually Princes Special, got it from rajek… I remember sombody here had similar problems with that snuff.
@Pieter, I didn’t have an issue with it, didi878 did. I’ve never had a can rust on me.
Ah, Old Paris - one of my favourite snuffs too. Pinch it between your thumb and forefinger and roll it between them as you’re sniffing it. I’m not sure why this works, but it does the job for me. An alternative would be to tip some onto the back of your hand and sniff from there.

oaxaca, thanks for the compliment!! Snuffdog and myself are discussing dogs and I should have whispered to him. cstokes4, Spanish Jewel up my nose right now…it is AWESOME. For me, it’s impossible to describe this snuff. It’s not sweet at all, strong, heavy on the nicotine side and MOREISH. This is PURE tobacco. I don’t know of any snuff with which I can compare it. Maybe HDT??? It is unique.
