Old Mill Nocturne as I have it in my nose now it is a darker snuff. And when I say dark I don’t mean color of the snuff but the deep dark sweet richness of this beauty. This has a subtle peppery quality to in which I adore very much. It’s rich in molasses and a maple syrupy scent as well. I do pick up the dark rum and coffee as well more of a strong espresso. There is also a a fruity vibe which is in a similar vein with Bernards Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert. Not that its the same snuff as Bernard’s it just has that dried sweet fruity decadent vibe going as well. The Vanilla is perfect in this snuff and I also get a saffron smell as well that I get in a couple others from old mill, which is also pleasing and just joy to experience. The Burley tobacco is very nice and IMHO takes a back seat to the rich Latakia in it. I do get the Viginia as well but to me it goes in this order of what is used or what I perceive to stand out more Latakia,Burley then Virginia. I also pick up a very subtle rich peaty note that is also pleasing as well,it IMO has a smokey in the way Perique would smell in a room that a pipe has been smoked in. Touches of Caramel. I also smell a wood character as well like going to a lumber shop and getting cedar wood or maybe birch just that smell of the lumber. It is at the top of my list of favorite old mill snuffs. And is DEFINITELY a must have for Old Mill fans. Get it while you can. I’m not sure how much he has but this is one not to be missed. It’s grandpas chair, that he’s sat in for years smoking all those Pipe and cigar tobacco’s he’s smoked for a decade or even more. It’s that description in my honest opinion in what Nocturne is like, with those other sweet deep rich ingredients. I love it I give this baby 5 stars from my 1-5 scale***** Please don’t miss out on this snuff I hope he reproduces this for years to come I should have bought more. The nicotine level to me is high a very relaxing snuff. One to be cherished and payed close attention too. I only use this when I’m in my man cave watching movies or just chilling on my own reading or just sitting in the park,Very special indeed. Thanks Chef for another astonishing quality made full of love Snuff.
A very nice review. I read it right after taking some and your review helped paint what I was experiencing
Thanks this is such a great snuff!
I have and like this one very much - it’s a bit heavy in a darker, brooding sort of way, but excellent. A cool weather one for me.
That’s generally a good description of a lot of the artisan snuffs. I think of them as a rich beer. It’s not the kind of beer for chugging but when you want that one beer that will leave you satisfied…
Great review. I’m inspired. Believe I’ll have another pinch =D>
Stuff is just so good bro so is the sugarbush!
I’d buy huge tubs of all of them if I could afford it lol I buy small/medium sized ones so I can have them all more in one shot. But I guess they will last longer too have a bunch of each in about 15g sizes.
