Tonight I packed my nose with Black Ice and went for my constitutional. In the fresh air I was struck by the beauty of this snuff. A nice dark tobacco very aromatic, with what seems to me a hint of menthol that serves to bring out the full essence and aroma of the tobacco. Overall, I get a vague sense of fresh mown grass or rather a grassy field with some some heavier overtone I cant quite describe. I truly love this snuff. This is one of my first reviews, so be kind.
@saucy_jack‌ Mission Accomplished.
@suacy_jack your review was terrible I have no idea what you’re review or what you opinion of it is… Oh wait the opposite of what I said. Great review. Reviewing isn’t complicated it’s expressing your expreince with a particular snuff. The general impression is the single most important aspect period. The finer details have more to do with supporting the general impression and are fun.
Thanks guys! @bob‌ you had me going there. Lol
@saucy_jack‌ I agree. Great review!
reviews are about helping me (the other) find snuffs they can enjoy. Artistic well crafted reviews and blunt inexperienced combine together to make the best information for the snuff snuffers. Though aside from helping your fellow snuffers reviews are great because they train your nose and attention. You’ll actually start to notice more naunces as you write more reviews too. So you owe us and yourself to write reviews without worrying about some type of fictitious competition. And also when I started snuffing the flowery well crafted reviews did nothing for me. The more basic reviews helped me find more awesome snuffs quickly. Then finally snuffsters reviews helped me the most because his nose must work like mine. And I found that the snuffs he reccomened hit my nose just right. Which you never know even if your reviews aren’t so polished you might help someone who notices they agree with the stars you give.
Keep your eyes open for Fire and Ice. Dark Fired Kentucky. Yum. >:D<
@bob hit the nail on the head. “The more basic reviews helped me find more awesome snuffs quickly.”
I think @bob is right about finding people who have similar tastes to your own. With a few posters here, it’s enough that they say “it’s good” for me to consider giving it a try. I’ve had a few recommends that I didn’t agree with from these individuals, but not many.
Yes, tried it last night. It’s worth trying.(
Hey @saucy_jack. Nice review. I noticed you have been on Snuffhouse for over 5 years and yet you said that this was one of your first reviews. Can I ask why you have done so few in all that time? No big deal–just wondered.
Hey there @fredh that’s a good question. For a long time I was just into the snuff, enjoying it, and then I would think how nice it’d be to do a review of a snuff and then see that there were already a thousand reviews and nix the idea. That and just stage fright, I guess. :))
I really enjoy this snuff.Not overly icy, but just enough to please, and allow the secent of the rich tobaccos to flood into you nose and bloodstream! Another winner from the Chef D.
Ok ok I broke… Who was I fooling by saying I’d try it for the first time tomorrow with a fresh nose? Besides, this has freshened my nose far more than 8 hours of abstinence ever could. Very well put @bob. Not only have you summed up how I’ve found my favorite snuffs (via basic subjective experience reports), you’ve also given me the confidence to waffle freely about mine… Although I wouldn’t put it in the same class as any other menthol I’ve tried (it transcends categorization), I can certainly say that it is both more full-on and more subtle in equal measure. Contradictory? Perhaps… but such is life. And this stuff really makes me feel alive. I think the subtlety stems from the natural aromas described so eloquently by @saucy_jack, and the full-on’ness (this stuff has got me making up new words) by the sheer longevity of the freshness. No, it doesn’t hit you like a McC English Menthol, or Highland Ice, but good God it outlasts them by lightyears. It has a VERY pleasant, yet extremely persistent midground freshness, which just keeps going and going, negating the compulsive redose-syndrome I often experience with short-lived foreground menthols. This makes for a really cohesive, holistic experience, which extends beyond the boundaries of what I thought possible with snuff. This may sound histrionic - like hyperbolic rhetoric - but this is my experience of this wonderful snuff.
