So I have a tin of Sir Walter Scott Creme de Fique No1 fine boarder snuff. At first glance I thought to myself wtf… It is so course and moist I didn’t think it was sniffable. So I tried pinching it as I usually do and could not for the life of me keep the stuff in my nose… I got fed up and put it away last night. Since then I have been reading up on “shoving method” and decided to give this a go just a few minutes ago. What I did was take a massive pinch in my fingers, like the biggest pinch you can hold. I then leaned back in my chair so my nose was going upwards and just shoved the tobacco in there. I slightly sniffed getting it right to the back of my nose and held my nostrils together for about a minute. I repeated this several times until I managed to stuff 2 or 3 grams up there lol…Yes, you get some very nice nicotine:) When I get my NTSU black back from my buddy I can’t wait to try this method with that snuff. It would look retarded for a bystander but just tilt your head back and drop the snuff into your nose, sniff and hold it together. You’d be surprised how much you can fit up there! With this “Tilt back and just drop method” I may try with D white to see how much I can physically hold in my nose and test the nic trip lol. But that is my experience and thoughts on the method. No sniffing necessary! Just tilt back and drop as much tobacco in your nose as possible, shut your nose with your fingers for a minute or two when you open back up sniff again and vuala.
Update. After about 10 minutes the forward drip was so bad I had to blow it all out… I was constantly dripping on my desk and down my lips lol… Holding so much at once of that stuff was very difficult. But I genuinely underestimated the nicotine this stuff has! The 10 minutes that stuff was in my nose felt like I just took a big pinch of Copenhagen. Which his bad because I just finished a vape session and already had my nicotine fix (Yup now I just feel woozy) But this method works! Can’t wait to try it with NTSU black and shove 5 grams at once up there and see what happens.
I’ll try this right now with some of my SG SP Scotch. It is so moist that, like you and your SWS Creme de Figue, I can’t really keep it in my nose properly. I was thinking of leaving the tin open to dry it out but I wasn’t thinking to try the “shove method” until I saw this post.
You want moist then try SG London Brown. It’s mud! But very nice mud. I’m working my way through a tin and it definitely shove and squeeze nose; not at all sniffable. I only do this in our darkened living room in the evening as it is so messy. Could’nt imagine anyone trying to use this in public. Very good stuff though. BTW 5g of NTSU will make you ill and regret the experience. But you know what they say…It’s better to regret something you have done than something you have’nt.
Haha right on guys! - Yah, I can’t emphasize enough regarding the “Shove and pinch method”. Don’t sit there and try to shove the snuff upwards in your nose, that is tough… Instead tilt your head back and basically “Shove it downwards” Just drop the snuff into your nose and let gravity do its thing. Thats when you sniff and pinch! The tilt is the best way to shove it in there I find. I’m picking up the NTSU from my buddy tonight so I’ll give it a go later on, or I may wait until tomorrow as I have already had my fair share of nicotine. I once put an entire can of Copenhagen long cut in my mouth, I double horse shoed that bad boy! So if NTSU makes me ill I’ll be very surprised.

London Brown, Scotch Black and Black Rappee by SG are very good examples of this genre. I have connoisseur cerise and fire cured cerise and don’t have much trouble with any of these snuffs now that I’ve got some practice. Usual spoonful, short, shallow and sharp sniff, then nostril pinch until all settles down. Throat drip can be a beeyotch and the nostril drip isn’t exactly attractive, but well worth it.

For me, the best way to take really coarse moist snuffs like Black Rappee is to sprinkle it into a boxcar and then snuff. Works a charm…
I find moist coarse snuffs an absolute doddle. Pinch, snuff it up, and smile. Occasionally I might need to pich the nostril shut for a second andther the snuff, but that’s it. It’s the fine snuffs that give me agro … everyone’s nose is different though
