I am waiting on my first real snuff orders from toque and mr. Snuff. It has been two+ weeks at this point. I am running on fumes here, surviving on samples and trades from the generous members here. How long is shipping typically to the u.s.? Im in ny so thought it is just a flight across the ocean!

I have had five orders from two different companies arrive, still waiting on a recent one. I would say expect between 10-15 dayson average. Snuff doesn’t usually get held up, but snus… don’t bother unless you want a long wait.

I am wondering if the cigar companies over here stock snuff. I will have to look into it because I can order cigars and have them in 2 days

Ive waited anywhere from seven days to three weeks. Most of the time its closer to 10 days and I live in montana.

Made an order, but this time I sprung for Airsure shipping to see where my orders go and how long it takes them to get from point A to point B and how long customs fusses about with them. We’ll see, I suppose. Then again, I, too, live in NY: not exactly the paragon of efficiency.

I received an order from Mr Snuff yesterday that came pretty quickly (5 business days), but I had to wait a week or so before that because a couple of the snuffs were backordered. The Your Account part of the website should say if the package has shipped.

My average for receiving a package from Mr. Snuff, starting from the shipping date, is about ten days. I live in Virginia. This last order took a bit longer, about 17 days. Maybe it’s just my perception, but lately it seems like a number of people in the US are waiting longer for overseas packages to arrive.

@Roderick I know our local postal service has recently undergone a “restructuring” and I would imagine it was due to a national mandate. Maybe Customs is scrutinizing packages more closely, or maybe it’s a combination of both. I know it’s not restricted to tobacco products. Friends/co-workers have noticed it with food products (jelly babies, treacle toffees, teas…etc.).

U.S.P.S. has been shrinking & selling off locations to Pitney-Bowes who is using them for PSI (the comingling of mail to create drop shipments to each states distribution center) The Post Office has been losing money for a loooong time

Yes, restructuring, shrinking workforce, reduced processing centers have to be placing quite a toll on efficiency… Bummer!!!

I just want to clarify that I was not complaining about these two vendors or even the incompetence of the government run mail industry. I’m just an impatient little kid right now! :((

Believe me @fbones24, we have ALL had that experience. Think Christmas Eve as a kid… Hang in there, All will be good in the kingdom once again!

it’s just delays. Lots of people are ordering more shit with post christmas money. It will pass damn it. Normaly takes about a week.

Ok, so: update. My Airsure package arrived TODAY. Was it worth the extra? Well, I think so.

Very cool I went to place a pretty big order yesterday at Mr. Snuff but realized it wasn’t allowing me to use my reward points. I have over $20 in them so I started reading and finally found that they are no longer doing the reward points anymore. I am waiting on an email from them before I place my order. The anticipation is killing me.

Don’t panic. Many storebought tobacco can be made into snuff in a pinch.

@Xander So I am basically out of snuff besides some 5g tins of SD that my buddy carries at his tobacco shop. I went by his shop and he gave me a pouch of Redman Loose Leaf Tobacco (chew). I dumped it all out onto a huge sheet of aluminum foil and separated it all opening up the leaves etc. It is now in the oven at the lowest setting and I have the door propped open slightly so that it can dry out. After it dries I will use my magic bullet to grind it up to the right snuff consistency and filter it through a fine mesh screen. Hope this project turns out well! Almost forgot, Redman smells and tastes AMAZING! A smell of sun dried cherries/raisins maybe figs with molasses/tobacco. The whole downstairs of my house smells great since its been drying out.

Here is a picture of the final outcome. It made a lot! Just tried it out and it is pretty good. Will take some time to see what I really think about it. Update after taking 4 fat boxcars over 30 min or so. It is very sweet, I smell sweet figs and also a dried cured tobacco smell. I got a very slight burn one of the times. Also I got some drips and the taste is very sweet.

So after using it more today I have to say, IT IS SWEET! It’s a bit overpowering. I would say it is definitely not an all day use snuff, it is just too rich. Almost like eating too much cheesecake. Common Mr Snuff order please get here soon!

I really like the taste of Red Man but I’ve never thought of making snuff with it. If it’s too sweet I bet it would be nice cut with some plain snuff.

It really came out perfect, fine and fluffy with just a tad of moisture. It is more of a once in a while snuff unless you really like SWEET overtones with fig and tobacco scent. My buddy came by last night and gave me a pouch of Beech Nut and Red Man Golden Blend which I have read has twice the nicotine so that should make an interesting snuff The Beech Nut doesn’t smell as sweet so maybe it will make a good snuff that isn’t too sweet.

@PeteTschantz I did get it! Everything but the honeybee was in the shipment. The honeybee came a week or so later in a separate shipment. I was so burned out on the homemade Red Man Snuff. After doing it for awhile I came to the conclusion that the nicotine content was pretty low and also the smell of it got to where I just couldn’t stand it anymore. I did make a batch with the Red Man Golden Blend which has a more mellow smell to it and not as sweet, but the smell just got to where it almost turned my stomach. The reason I am rambling on about this is because when I finally got the honeybee I opened the can and took a big boxcar of it and couldn’t believe that it had a very similar smell as the Red Man! So my little Red Man experiment basically RUINED honeybee for me, I cant take any of it without smelling Red Man! Ahh Well.
