So I’m a huge fan of ntsu and taxi, is there ever a chance the large tubs will be sold on mrsnuff? It seems it would be easier to buy one of these than tons of small individual cans. Just curious. It may not be worth it from a sales perspective as I’m not sure how well it sells, but I’d think it’d also be cheaper for us, possibly. These are notorious for drying out and once the ammonia airs off they’re useless except for flavor, but I think packed down these tubs would keep fresher for longer.

I saw your post on FB last night and thought, “OK, they make big tubs! I did not know that.” I copied your picture into our products-new Slack channel and tagged Kay.

This morning, while drinking my coffee, I went to mention it but then thought, “Saturday morning, first thing; probably best to wait until she is properly awake.” Maybe it would be better to invest some time checking Snuffhouse. And what do I see?

The universe is conspiring; that much is plain. So as soon as I stop typing this, I will get on it. It’s a great idea! We sell loads of big tubs of other products, so I think this will be a winner.

I would have an interest in the Taxi Red also. I enjoyed Babaton a lot too, maybe worth getting stock also to mix up, but it seemed slightly weaker.

I want to expand our South African range, both new products and new variants of existing, so this is now definitely on my to do list. Big tubs all round is a great place to start.

For example I am not sure if the New Taste Super Snuff is still even being made.

Also, how can we find out when fresh stock of any of these arrives ? I heard the Taxi recently was a little dry and I wanted to order more, but I think I’ll be waiting for a bucket, out of practicality. I go thru a 15g tin in about 4 or 5 days.

I just checked: The stock we have was booked into the warehouse at the end of November 2024. Our stock throughput is about 3 months and we have a new order on its way.

I will check with our supplier to see if they can give us the manufacture date. Or if somebody knows if they codes on them?

We have a new ‘notify me when back in stock’ feature on all the sites now. So if we run out you can get an email as soon as fresh stock is booked in.

I will wait. When was the ntsu black stock obtained, purely out of curiosity ? I have been going thru these at an alarming rate lol. I can finish a can in 2 days now. I just have a feeling the buckets will be a winner. But when you find Snuffs you love so much it makes you wanna stock up, because I really would like to get a large stash that way I don’t have to keep ordering.

Off topic, but I’ll mention it here due to the positive discussion about bulk.

The subject of no bulk option for Brunswick came up on another forum today. I’ve mentioned this on Snuffhouse previously, but the largest option is still 20g. I’ve placed two 500g orders in the last year, which obviously had to be sourced from elsewhere. While I’m good for now, these orders contained more than a single tub and it seems odd that Brunswick is one of few (if not the only) Wilsons products with no bulk option. Maybe it’s not a big seller?

Viking Dark Rappee I thought was almost identical. It comes in tubs. Have you tried that ?

It seems to be very similar, if not identical, but I’ve had a lot of bad luck with wrongly labelled Viking snuff and have stuck with what (mostly) comes in the right tub or bag.

I state ‘mostly’ as a while back I got a 250g tub of Santo Domingo that contained Brunswick, but that was offset when 500g of Brunswick from the same order turned out to be Santo Domingo. Would be rather upsetting to find either containing S.M.500 or the likes!

Really wild. I have only ordered 1 tub of VDR, and it was correct, and I immediately realized how close it was to BBR. However I find the dark wos Snuffs to be hard to take, I’m not sure if it’s the salt or what. I still have a good amount in the tub from 2023 and it’s still moist. Just a thought for you though! I love the flavor.

Speaking of that the last 5 cans of Taxi Red had menthol in them. So it happens lol. Part of the reason I’ve been scared to order more, I like switching between it and Ntsu.

I’ve never ordered a tub of any Viking snuff until this very day. Reckon I’d been unlucky with the tins as the next batch I ordered was fine, but those issues make you wary and can sit with you for a while.

Now I’m interested. Best I can ascertain is that it was manufactured by Swedish Match and available in at least Sweden, the US and South Africa.

Also I see a few mentions in Snuffhouse archives.

I do know Swedish Match sold it off, but I believe the equipment was obtained by Gwayi. But I do know it’s an entirely different grind now than the instant coffee grinds of the past , when SM made it.

I was looking at a Van Erkoms catalog, they also have Maverick Menthol and Babaton Green. Van Erkoms Catalogue 2014 (2) I’m not huge on menthol though , I really did like Babaton but it lacked the nicotine of the others.

I just talked to the guy I got the Jock tobacco in this catalog from and he has an unopened packet of this and Boxer and others, so I’m excited. I know you guys don’t carry smoking Tobacco’s but I would definately buy those too, but I am going to keep my requests to snuff as best I can.

Please correct me, @towhee89, if I’m wrong, but my memory tells that the latest archived version of VE catalogue (2021?) doesn’t list Maverick and the mentholated Babaton anymore. Weren’t they discontinued pre 2000?

And yes, Babaton is rather poor performer in nic dept. I once made a mistake procuring a roll of it, and ended up using it as a base for making my own mentholated snuffs. Re-sifted and mentholated in German manner with mineral oil, it turned to beautifully black snuff.

I am not sure if I’ve seen that catalog. I too thought they were discontinued, but I’m really not sure. They probably are though.

Yeah, I named a feral cat we have Babaton xD haha. I really liked the taste, but I never finished my last can. It’s dried out in my Cellar.

Doesn’t come in buckets, but this dry and light in colour Magnet Menthol Snuff is made in South Africa by Leonard Dingler (the manufacturer of Taxi).

Not sure, if Dingler still makes it, though. There used to be three dry snuffs in Magnet range - Magnet Peach, Magnet Spearmint and Magnet Menthol. The peach flavour was discontinued more than a decade ago, but the spearmint and menthol ones are still sold by some Swiss online vendors -

The TAXI we are waiting to hear about availability. I thought they had them but maybe not.

Hi Jonny, did anything ever come of this. I too would love NTSU Blak in the tub. To be honest, I’d like to buy any NTSU black from MrSnuff but you seem to be always sold out of it. It’s frustrating as my second snuff Taxi Red, I buy from you but I have to search google to get the NTSU and pay further shipping.
