Now I’d first like to say these are not due directly to snuff! I’ve always suffered nosebleeds occasionally every other month of the year and when I do get one they seem to take quite sometime to heal. They tend to bleed on and off again for a few weeks before subsiding and it’s quite annoying. I think the cause is a bop on the nose I took in a schoolyard fight at 12yrs old and it’s always that same dam left nostril! So my entire time(month or two) of snuff taking I’ve been a “one-nostriler” and if I’m adventurous and sniff a modest amount up the ol’ left I disturb my weak spot and end up with a nosebleed. So after putting up with my ailement for years as any man does, I finally went to the doctor’s. She had a look around, said my nose was quite vascular but couldn’t see any bleeding sites and it must be higher up in my shnoz. So I’m currently booked into a nose & throat specialist on the 18th nov. to get it looked at and most probably cauterized I can’t wait to join the two nostril snuffers but am also curious if anyone else has nosebleeds pre existing or from snuff use and their experiences. I don’t think snuff can be to blame in any case except for the fact that it drys your nose somewhat, but so can the wind, and the fact the nicotine causes vasoconstriction of the blood vessels, and in sensitive noses like mine may cause them to weep.

Good luck, I hope it helps.

same situation as you, but the snuff doesnt trigger it- the hard bogeys do. i also have a deviated septum, on the outside it looks fine but on the inside it bows to my left nostril ( the hardest to snuff in and the one that bleeds).

I used to get nosebleeds a lot as a kid, and sometimes as an adult, I think from trying to blow my nose clear when it was in fact constricted airways causing me to feel blocked up. Since taking snuff for the last few years I’ve had no nosebleeds whatsoever, and can breathe properly. It’s wonderful!

The snuff cure aye @HR_pufnsnuff‌ lol. Well bit of an update, got my nose cauterized today and apart from the anaesthetic spray tasting horrible it went well, less blood then a nose bleed but my mucus membranes are in overdrive trying to flush all germs from my nose, so many tissues! Can’t wait to be snuffing again but it looks like I can’t for another 3wks as I need more treatments, one a week for three more wks

Good luck to you @joelS

No good, but glad you’re on the mend. I used to get several nosebleeds every few months or so, from my teens to my mid twenties, though haven’t had any for a few years now, and none since I started snuffing, both nostrils. I’m thirty now and had wondered if my snuffing might cause it to happen again, but thankfully not. I have had a scab form in one nostril, but it did heal and didn’t bleed. Hope you can snuff again now!

So snuffers I’m doing great only one more cauterizing treatment left to go and the only bleed I get is after a treatment I was absolutely tonguing for some toque peach the other day but glad to say I’ll only have to wait til after next Wednesday! The cause of the bleeds has been attributed to epstein barr virus (virus responsible for gladular fever/mononucleosis “mono”) it has reactivated and run down my immune system, it proliferates in the nasal and throat cavities and causes irritation, hence the swollen structures and sensitive blood vessels. Being a virus there’s no getting rid of it but I’ve been given a list of supplements to help my immune system get on top of it again so it goes dormant and hides like the scumy virus it is. And just a side note, 95% of the population by age 40 are infected with this virus, little crazy huh. Anyone interested the supplements are: Vitamin C 1000mg twice a day Echinacea 1000mg twice a day Vitamin E 2000mg(3000iu) twice a day Ginkgo biloba 2000mg twice a day All for 2months, I think I’ll lower the dose after an continue on though. I’m not a doctor or giving medical advice but anyone that experiences chronic fatigue I’d say get ya self checked for epstein barr which can cause it, I’ve experienced fatigue for a few years now and maybe the cause has finally been found aswell. All the best for Christmas everyone, happy snuffing and a happy new year!

Wow. I’m sorry to hear that. Sounds absolutely horrible. Really hope you feel better.
