Nose Hair

J

I trimmed mine today after my first week of taking snuff. Is this something I will need to plan on keeping up with more regularly? Not to be disgusting, but it does kind of get in the way… Right?

D

I like to keep mine trimmed. It seems like when I keep em short I get less build up of snuff in the nose.

As related to snuffing it doesn’t’ bother me. In general, it’s a PITA.

D

I find it annoying. Whenever something is irritating my nose, such as pollen, a cold, or snuff, I seem to become aware of my nose hair and can feel it tickling my nose. It doesn’t irritate on its own, but it exacerbates other irritations. For this reason, I trim regularly. I use one of those battery-operated trimmers, and it works remarkably well. On a slightly related note, I have recently come into possession of a moustache. It’s been so cold for so long here in NY that my skin has started to suffer. Repeatedly going outside after a hot shower and a shave made the skin on my face dry out in a fashion similar to eczema. I decided that the only option was to stop shaving until the weather became more sensible, so now I look like I have been cast away on a desert island for a few months. I have noticed two tobacco-related drawbacks to having a moustache. Firstly, I have noticed that my moustache has started to smell like cigarette smoke, and not in a good way. I love the smell of tobacco smoke, but for some reason, the smell in my moustache has a rather sweet smell that becomes cloying after a while. Secondly, I have noticed that, no matter how careful I am, I get brown snot in my moustache when I blow my nose after snuffing. I usually go to the bathroom to blow my nose so that I can wash my upper lip afterwards. My grizzly beard-moustache combo has certainly done its job in protecting my skin from the elements, but boy am I sick of wearing it. I was going to shave this weekend, but the forecast says we are getting even more snow and freezing temperatures this week, so I guess I’m stuck with it a little while longer

can trimming them make your more sensitive to scents

M

IDK if it affects sensitivity, but it does make it easier to extract those pesky “snuff boogers” that upon occasion latch onto a hair.
