My nose burns when I snuff especially Dholakia Ganga, Is that normal?

I think my nose has inflammation in mucous membranes ever since I snuffed tobacco mixed with lime this was about 5 months ago What should I do?

Yes straight lime [the Mineral] will rot your face off. You should ask a professional. If I were you I may invest in a neti pot.

5 months is a long time for a burn to heal. Could it be an infection? Picking your nose with dirty fingers can introduce nasties, been there, done that, am much more careful now. Some over the counter antibiotic ointment cleared it up…

basementshaman there are different types of lime, Slaked (edible) lime does not rot your face of since it is always used in the betel nut quid, and even in snuffs which make them burn, but mixing your own tobacco, yopo or whatever with lime can irritate severily

@dasr If you know so much about lime, why did you burn your nose with it?

so shouldnt it burn or what? it must be lime in the snuff I bought cause it stings a bit? or is it just my nose damaged?

i get a bit of a burn when I snuff sometimes, but I don’t equate it to a chemical burn. I assume it’s the sensation of 1,000,000 tiny particles of snuff landing on a sensitive mucous membrane. I like that feeling, it’s like a spicy tickle. You may want to go see a doctor though, if you are unsure.

@dasr I still get the burning sensation from white or dry snuffs. 41P White Elephant in particular . . . Killer, but quite enjoyable! If you in fact DID inhale lime(in whatever form) and believe it to be the cause of your misery, then seek medical help like everyone said.

I already did they didnt find anything special an inflammation but I do not know if its related to the lime, note that calcium hydroxide is commonly used in some snuff

Stay away from Bohica and Doolali Tap .Sorry for your condition I’d be lost without being able to enjoy snuff. I use preparation H on all cuts and inflamed tissue. works better than most triple antibiotic ointments. Smells awful though !

Perhaps this is your body’s way of telling you that snuff is not for you. Certain bodies react in different ways to harmful substances. For example: I never get poison ivy, I can roll in it and be fine.

I get very occasionally a burn,but I’m fine with just about anything.i would try a range of different manufacturers out there and experiment with the different types of snuff to see which ones don’t hurt so bad.it might just be not for you.but don’t give up yet.
