Nose blowing and mustache..

I took on the hobby of a beard about 2 months ago. nothing crazy, perhaps I’ll post a pic later. and of course with the growth of a beard, comes the mustache. I’ve noticed I’ve had to adopt a new way of doing numerous things with this addition. eating soup, wiping my mouth, kissing my wife, and … blowing my nose. It’s a bit tricky and you spend more time doing it. Gotta make sure there’s no “bats in the cave” or “whales on the beach” Taking snuff of the back of your hand has turned into something else as well. i’m getting used to it. Does any one else have beard/mustache techniques?

this is a question for @snuffster

And @Bart.

Use snuffs that match the color of your beard!

I only trouble I have is when I blow my nose, as far as a bit in the mustache. The only time I’m careful is at bedtime, not to have KB Plain…my wife can’t stand the scent, I don’t know why. I love it. I have no real solution. Just dust heavy with your kerchief and carry a mirror if you feel you must. You must always remind yourself though, that BEARDED folks are, as a rule, happier and more successful in life. And like Bodger said, unless you have a snow-white beard like Nachman or Ol’ Grimstone hisself, most people will not notice a few crumbs.

Whenever I blow my nose, I’m really careful to mop up thoroughly, and often I visit a mirror just to be sure there are no ugly surprises left behind. Just one of the costs of being cool!

I’m virtually the wolfman in terms of hairiness, so I empathise with this! Snuff will often leave its traces when used by a fellow with copious facial hair - I don’t think there’s a specific technique which prevents certain unpleasantness! Just look in a mirror before going out in public, if you care about the reactions of other humans…!

I’ve had a full beard since I was 17. It takes some getting used to, but is second nature now. You have to keep fairly well trimmed to avoid a lot of issues with snuffing, eating, etc. But it is easy enough to pick up with some practice. I never get snuff in my moustache, but on my nose is a different matter altogether! Especially when I take a bit on the back of the hand throughout the day, ie. Poschl Alpina. It’s easy enough to wash out with a bit of water throughout the day, until you get the hang of it.

I’m nornally bearded, but have to occasionally shave for certain professional duties once or twice a year. I find that snuffing is cleaner with a mustache. I seem to have a hard time getting used to snuffing without one. Also snuff creates its own Hitler style mustache which of course necessitates a pocket mirror and hanky.
