Nicotine Rush????

D

Just tried visiting NR website but got the ‘unavailable’ browser page. Anyone else having issues? Is the site just temporarily down?? I haven’t been around in a while so forgive me if this has already been discussed, I didn’t see any recent discussions though.

B

Working fine for me!

A

its working

P

The only thing not working is I cannot get one of those triple tech boxes, any idea when you will have more in stock Bakdoor?

B

Beats me. Thought I’d have them weeks ago.

D

Working for me, I had a bit of a issue connecting yesterday for about 20 mins. Its was working fine again last night and I made another order

D

Thanks for the quick replies! I’m not sure what’s up with my internet! I cleared my cache and tried using IE rather than my normal google chrome and still no luck. Fortunately, my phone can access the site! Guess I’ll be squinting as I place my order.

B

try powering your modem off and back on, then your router if your using one.

Z

Nic Rush is moving offshore, shipping from Europe effective June 30. Got to the NR site and read the PACT Act blurb. Time to place an order…

D

Tom when will you have stock on the Toque Quit? I would like to order some prior to your departure but you have been out of stock for some time/

S

@dgriego: As far as I know, Tom’s said he’s not restocking until he’s all settled in the new location. He’s trying to cut his stock down so he has less to pay shipping to the UK on, so he won’t be ordering more until the store moves.

B

That’s correct. Please understand that this move is costing MANY thousands of dollars. It would be foolish to order a bunch of stock from Europe, only to turn around and pay to ship it back 6 weeks later. I appreciate your patience, continued support, and understanding in these difficult times. Actually, this move should turn out to be a ‘good thing’ for all involved. Many of the snuff makers who refused to sell to us because we were in the states, should no longer have that issue. This means, that eventually, we will be able to provide an even greater selection of the worlds snuffs. Also, our European customers will now have access to all of the American snuffs.

S

so it’s all a waiting game now? well i guess that allows time for me to recoup my finances.

Z

Damn…I wish I could just up and move to the UK. Actually, I’d probably go to the Netherlands.

L

Z_2K don’t bother moving to the UK; it sucks here! Personally I am pleased NicotineRush are moving to the UK as it means I have access to American snuffs which I have previously been starved of. I had a snuff swap with a user on here over a year ago and he sent me some Rooster which I really enjoyed (I still have a small amount left)

S

@Lazarus: how could the UK possibly suck more than here, in the good old U.S. of A?! hahaha! let’s speak frankly, and yet, logically - perhaps the “civilized” world is on the wane - rome, part deux.

A

I’m also happy to get easier access to American snuffs here in Europe. I have had only two from a trade with a forum member and they’re great! When you’re set up, I’ll surely place an order!

L

Well Jack I guess all civilisations have their ‘off days’ except in this case its ‘off years’! In the UK we are exposed to alot of American TV and movies which still portrays America in a glamourous light. A land of ‘milk and honey’ if you like. I’ve gotta say I visited the US about 3 years ago and toured around for a few weeks and I absolutely loved it. I’d move to the US tomorrow if emigration would let me in! lol

S

Yea, I know a girl from Yorkshire who moved here when she was thirteen; she said that her idea of America was that it was full of “cowboys and cheerleaders!”

S

Well, can’t really say fairly where I’d like to be. Everywhere looks perfect until you move there. A couple of weeks or even a month across various parts of the US, and that gives you just enough time to see what’s awesome in the US without seeing some of the really horrible things that go on in some neighbourhoods. A week bouncing around posh areas in London give you just enough time to remark how polite and well-spoken the British are, without a high chance of running into a roving pack of chavs. I think you really have to stay in one area for about six months before you can fully appreciate the good and the bad parts of it and make a solid judgement. If I can afford to spend six months or so up in Norway (I’ll be trying to do grad school there, so it’s a possibility) and I find I’m much happier there, I’m planning on trying to move over. @saucy_jack: There are chavs in the UK, that’s how it could be worse.

T

Lazarus, just sneak in through the southern border.

A

It’s easier to sneak in from Canada if you’re white.

N

Chavs, gangstas, whats the diff?

L

Probably dodgy territory to be getting into on a snuff forum, once you get Brits started on chavs its hard to get them to stop.

T

I just watched Bruno on DVD.

A

In Ireland, chavs are called skangers, or langers in Cork. Knackers are Travellers.

B

Much as I love the U.S. - I holiday there at least two times a year - there are two things I’d miss about living in the U.K. The pleasantly mild climate and the British pub. (And maybe Marmite).

L

I’d have Marmite shipped in especially if I moved there! I couldn’t do without it! I’ve suggested Marmite flavoured snuff to Roderick several times but hes not convinced! lol

N

Welcome to Snuffland: A Terribly Grand Place That Smells Quite Nice And Has Low Crime

X

Marmite can be found if one looks in the right place. I still haven’t tried it myself though.

L

Xander you don’t know what you are missing!

C

Marmite is available at most Wal Mart’s these days. They also carry other British staples such as Digestive Biscuits and Yorkshire Tea.

L

Perhaps I wouldn’t miss the UK as much as I thought I would, all I need is Marmite, tea and biscuits! lol

T

I want some canned Haggis.

E

Canned haggis? What’s wrong with proper haggis?!

N

Butter your toast, then spread marmite on top. That’s how kids got enough vitamins during the war and the lean years after.

L

Marmite on toast, you can’t beat it! Its a great way to treat a hangover

S

Marmite & Vegemite is very good on home-made bread.

Yes, and what’s wrong with proper haggis? ask Roderick nicely and he may pop over the boarder and catch you one

T

I was just trying to make a haggis joke, I really never had it.

S

B

YUK!

B

That’s something else I’d miss about living in the U.S. I suppose. Haggis has been banned in the States since 1971 - you can’t sell food there which contains sheep’s lungs.

E

Banned?! That is truly depressing. I’m rather partial to haggis myself.

T

Where’s my Chippy?

C

Haggis in the USFrom Wikipedia: Haggis may not be imported into the USA from the UK since the BSE crisis of 1989. This is due to haggis’ offal ingredients such as sheep lungs. The British Food Standards Agency disputes these concerns, and states that there is no reason for the import of haggis to be restricted.[17] In 2010 a spokeswoman for the US Department of Agriculture stated that they were reviewing the ban on beef and lamb products but no time frame was set.

L

I can’t believe that, banned since 1989, well I never…

B

Wait does that mean you could make haggis in the united states and sell it? Or even import it to England. Though you can find both marmite and vegamite localy. I just have to ask how is it possible to like that stuff??? I’am really afraid of that stuff. I’ve thought it must rot your brain or taste buds or something. How can this stuff be ingested for pleasure??? I don’t get it. Stinky cheese I understand. If you mix it with butter does it get you high or something???

L

Does Marmite get you high? Nooo it just tastes nice As for Haggis I have never tried it so it could get you high I suppose ;o)

B

Speaking of Scots, the great overlord has resigned.

L

Mr Snuff I’m so pleased you provided a translation. I am a great fan of Scotland in general but I could never get on with Burn’s poetry LOL!

A

Sweet Afton cigarettes are named after Burns poem.

X

Some version of haggis must be legal here. I usually go to our local annual Colonial Highland Gathering and Scottish Games. They have lots of vendors selling all kinds of Scottish foods, including haggis. I usually get a few treats while there. Once a year is enough to cure me of wanting haggis again for awhile. Also many of the British and Irish import shops have canned haggis, so that must be legal.

B

@cstokes4: Wiki is mistaken (who’d have thought that could happen ?!) regarding haggis the States. Proper Scottish haggis has been banned since 1971. The review of the beef and lamb ban due to BSE still won’t allow haggis to be imported or even made in the U.S. as there is no plan to lift the ban on sheep’s lungs in food - see USA Today and the BBC. The haggis currently sold in the States is imitation haggis made from other meats. Including beef, which is just plain wrong.

J

i tried haggis once when i was in glasgow many years ago to watch a football game ( not gonna say what team ) ha in northern ireland in the chippy they sell these things called pasties i think its just a northerm ireland thing ?

N

Pasties are in Cumbria too. Thought they were Cornish. Pasties, mushy peas, brown ale and then HDT for desert.

D

I have never had haggis or marmite and I still can’t access NR on my laptop! I feel like I am missing out on so much!!! I can get to NR on my phone though, so it’s all good. Maybe I’ll search for some Guiness Marmite that I saw on wikipedia. (Yes, I had no idea what marmite was, I had to look it up).

S

Pasties are a Cornish invention. We have them here in Michigan because Cornish miners brought them over.

P

I won’t like to eat sheep’s lung but the other ingredients are just fine. I had a friend who used pig’s lungs, kidneys, liver and various other “parts” to make haggis. It was delicious. When I was a kid, living on a farm in the Karoo, my mother used to make a nice pie of lamb’s testicles. We called it Karoo oysters. Affal and tripe are 2 of my favourite dishes and I prepare it myself. I’ve enjoyed Marmite for as long as I can remember but we do not have Vegemite anymore. A teaspoon of Marmite in a cup of boiling water makes a nice night cap. And, of course, there’s nothing to beat Marmite on toast with a cup of steaming coffee.

B

@Pieter: Pig’s lungs are delicious but sheep’s lungs are a no-no ?!

B

@zzedo310: Unfortunately the Guiness Marmite was a limited edition a few years back and it’s no longer available. Shame, as it was rather nice.

B

@jpsks saying something like that in cornwall would get you lynched. Pasties are a cornish invention! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasty dont believe what the devon boys said. you cant trust devon boys!

P

@BradMajors, I was waiting for it! When I enjoyed my friends haggis I did not know it contained the pigs lungs. I only got the recipe long after I ate the pig’s lungs. I’ve made my own haggis since but without the suckers/blowers.

J

I’ve been told that Marmite/Vegemite is something you either love or hate. It’s one of those things that I could probably find if I tried hard enough (the internet triumphs where brick-and-mortar fails), but I’m afraid if I hated it, it would just sit there and go to waste. I’ve made a pact that if I ever meet somebody with a jar of either, I’ll agree to try some on toast. As for pasties in Michigan, I can back up slobandtom on that. At one time, the UP (that’s Upper Peninsula to you folks around the world) supplied a large amount of the world’s copper and quite a bit of iron ore too…Cornish miners flocked to the region to find work and brought pasties with them. Now most of the copper has been mined out and those miners are sleeping in churchyards, but the great pasty lives on!

J

the pastie debate ha … in northern ireland there called pasties not pastys different thing all together … i knew about cornish pastys heres the northern ireland pastie link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastie

Z

My understanding is that Marmite and/or Vegemite is an aquired taste. That is, one must aquire a taste for it from infancy as there is no way a sane adult would take a second bite after the first.

L

Something else to think about; who invented the kilt?

Z

We have deep-fried Snickers bars here in the South USA, and RC Cola with Moon Pies.

S

Mmmm… deep fried Snickers are awesome. And so are fried pickles. One thing I’d like to try are deep fried Twinkies.

L

I once had a deep fried Mars bar in Scotland. It was one of the most disgusting things I have ever put in my mouth. It was vile. I couldn’t finish eating it. I assume the Scots only eat them when they are drunk.

S

I love deep fired mars bars! A delicious fatty, oily, sugary, gloopy mess. There was a chip shop in Leeds that used to do them, it got so popular with a certain crowd that they regularly ran out of Mars bars! People would go and buy mars bars from the market then bring them to the chip shop to be deep fried… You’ve got to eat them whilst they’re hot though, if they cool down they’re foul.

J

I’ve had a deep-fried Twinkie, all the gross sponginess of the cake was eliminated and made crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside, and the filling went from glutinous to creamy. All in all, sinfully delicious and I’m glad I tried it, but I sure ain’t makin’ a habit of it…

R

The folks out in MN take the cake. Deep-Fried Butter!!!

C

Haggis is great!
