Nice Snuff Bottle Score !

While going on the hunt for silver type snuff boxes the other day, stumbled onto this most unusual carved metal snuff bottle… It was labeled as copper, but not so sure… Will know more once it arrives…

As a collector of older Chinese snuff bottles, this is one of the most interesting ones I have purchased in a long time. I had been using aturquoise snuff bottlefor storing my snuff, but once I replace the stopper on this bottle with a better matched and an especially nice spoon, will be using this for storing my snuff in.

Beause of stumbling onto this one, have put the idea of purchasing a snuff box on the back burner… Especially since I apparently have champagne taste on a beer budget… All the really nice antique silver type boxes are just out of my price range…

Thinking may have someone locally make me a soft leather pouch of some kind for this… Not sure yet…

Although it has the Xuande (1426-1435) reign mark carved into the base, it’s true age is estimated 1870 to early 1900’s

Any hoo… Hope you enjoy !

That’s quite a nice looking bottle. So’s the turquoise one. Congratulations. I bought a stone bottle recently but it is only suitable for sitting on the work bench since the top is held in place by gravity alone.

Thanks Mouse…

@George ,that is a fantastic looking bottle, the detail is very nice.
I have been keeping an eye out for some suitable old snuff containers and the hunt is quite fun.
Is the turquoise one bigger or is it vice versa?

Thanks Will  … !

The Turquoise one is 2 1/2" to top of stopper…
