I’m UK and have only been previously ordering direct from Wilsons of Sharrow and have gone through a lot of their range and I’ve still got a good supply a couple of which I still haven’t tried and a good lot I have but have unopened sealed cool stored tins and again I’m getting the order more new one’s to try urge and it’s time to widen the experience. Ok I normally use toast No.22 and I have F&T HDT which I really like also so is there another good toast I should try first off? Then I like Macouba, and Brodeau and Old Paris from the F&T’s and have been reading that Santo Domingo has impressed so I plan to get that and maybe a couple other F&T but which one’s? Sort of some I’ve noted from reading here are Touque Quit, Taxi Red, Viking Dark, 6 Photo Special, Cafe Noir, some Abraxis, Lemon Grove, SWS Fields of Juniper and on and on none of which I have so far tried. I do like florals occasionally and SP’s are ok. Menthols aren’t a big thing. I use them for nose cleaning or perking up a blend. Basically I have liked everything so far except Lavender (bin) and that Royal George (bin) and Walflower (bin), anything with baby powder or toilet products cent or manures, don’t mind the amonia. Usually like a finer grind and medium moist but I do take Best Dark occasionally as I like that peaty thing. I also like the vitamin N of course and the High Toast seems best for that from those I’ve tried and the Queens Extra would be next but medium nicotine is ok even low nic if it was an exceptional snuff. I know it’s a mine field of a question and no-one can know what another would prefer but maybe it might be worth asking to get me directly to some nice snuff a bit more quickly or at least in the ballpark. I’m sure it would be helpful to others in the same position also. So as I say I’m ordering form the UK and don’t have any accounts set up at the moment. Would appreciate your assistance please.

I just recently tried Irish D Light, which is a more unique HDT. Toque Natural Toast is really good too but it doesn’t stand out from HDT or the No. 22 a whole lot except that it’s a bit more buttery.

Although I’ve been using snuff off and on for over 40 years i was and may still be a new user. Didn’t really get involved until i discovered snuffstore and snuffhouse. I don’t like toasts with the exception of toque lime toast. I’ve ordered well over 40 tins in the past few months, generally following suggestions here or snuffhouse reviews. I am enamored of Abraxis. Also favoring highly scented snuffs. Dholokias (use with care and do not inhale with great gusto) Also among my must haves, though no connection to toasts, are F&T Macouba, Morlaix and Bordeaux. Jasmine is also near the top of my list as is fubar medicated (will really clear nose out and needs less care when inhaling than hedges) and their shot of rum. most of these are not anywhere near toasts, but I’ve found the more I do the wider my appreciation grows.

if you like HDT you will love Toque natural toast as well. It may be blasphemy for me to say, but I like it better than F&T HDT. Toque Almond toast is exceptional as well. And get yourself some Abraxas Dragun while you are at it! can’t go wrong with any of those, IMO.

When I’m snuff high my eye/typing cordination goes and spelling does suffer. He should have called it Abraxis anyway which looks much better and is easier to spell. Lime toast is looking like a cert for trial so thank you for that. I didn’t really rate the Lemon Toast or No.20 nearly as much as the High stuff but it was good for mixing. I do on more reflexion realise that I have asked a probably impossible question as there are occasions when one person will sing the praises of something I strongly dislike but I wondered if people knew of some safe general consensus choices that would be good to give me a feeling for the other brands. There are so many and I’m not into buying 300+ jars and hording stuff. I just want to get a few more that I like but I can of course wade through and attempt to dicipher reviews and hit and miss that way. Not in any rush. Got plenty to keep me going for now. I’ll sort it out eventually, probably. Please do return ABRAXAS, all is forgiven.

@I_snuff_therefore___ I’m sure we could all order more and more …but…suggest toque toast and marmalade…tasty great snuff… Super sweet toast flavor… I used to use it every morning back to back with toque apricot ( best apricot true taste I have tried) Try BABATON blue … Got a slight coconut kinda aroma - good N content… Taxi blue I love taxi blue…taxi red if available is supposed to be the best nic hit of any…SWS fields of junipers … I was amazed… When I first tried FOJ. It was so fresh and tasted like a narcotic like flavor… To me it did ( juniper) Molens Macouba is very unique and great… Someone on MRSNUFF review described it as opium like aroma … Somewhat … But unique and tasty…impossible to describe… any molens are supposed to be better ( fresher in larger tub ) black Rappee u may like… But grind is weird… Kinda can ball up… Moist stuff medium coarse grind unique stuff … Good N hit…I have yet to taste any 6 photo …on order… Oh besides not liking menthol… Don’t like florals… So u can sewer have the main category in the like

Like Schmalzler’s in the cold weather they are awesome but I wouldn’t thing of using them in the heat of the summer.Royal George is great! if you had not bin it yet ,put it in a jar and come back to it in a years time. you may find you like it. As for the others you can trade or sell .

I hated the Royal George, then I got to sort of appreciate it but I still felt I was fooling myself, left it a while then I really hated it again. That was enough. Lifes to short. I don’t bin a lot, maybe 10-15%. It would be more expensive to post them and no-one around to pass them to. My last order I had a high hit rate about 70-80% of stuff I liked whereas the previous one it was very low at about 20-30%. Definitely preferred the good strike. I can’t stand stuff all overt the place either but I make some exception for snuff. I’m a sort of anti hoarder and hate clutter which I already have enough of. I currently only have a few that I will definitely reorder even though there were a lot I liked but I will begin I think to only keep stock of those I really like while with each new order trying a few others and it is a wrench not to have some of every one I liked. I hated Irish Toast in the very begining but I stuck with it and it then became my standard and still is with no sign of weakening. Must get some of that Fields of Juniper and got your other suggestions listed AANYCAARDS. Many thanks.

Just want to say thankyou to all. I think that’s mission pretty much accomplished and I’ve got me a good looking order list which lets me try a lot of other brands and is looking something like this: Irish D Light Lime Toast Natural Toast Dragun Taxi Red/Blue Fields of Juniper Molens Macuoba Santo Domingo Room for another couple but I can pick some more F&T? Probably should get on with ordering now but if anyone has a last minute suggestion that would round out this lot then please tap those little fingers on the letters.

Latest news, basket screwed up at MS (seem pricer than snuffstore but who knows really) and I’ve been looking at snuff reviews for hours and I’m more confused than ever which I thought would happen and why I asked here first. Don’t know what I’m going to do now. Go and lie down for a bit I think.

I_snuff_therefore___ snuffstore and MRSNUFF are both operated by David Anderson David is one of the officers in Matrix BB LTD ( all sourced from Internet ) so I would absolutely assume they both use the same outsourced pick and pack warehouse to dispatch ( ship from ) in UK …Any other way, would not seem logical. And I almost 99% positive , SIR WALTER Scott ships his product to the warehouse of MRSNUFF ( and/or snuffstore ) from Scotland Ireland or England itself … So he is UK based… All the people who got samples of lundy foot ( that I know of ) were UK based as well ( his close friends ) Yes I have noticed price differences on same product on both sites ( but in case of one product ) it was 1.30 cheaper on snuffstore. Thanks for the info. I think I had a bit of brain melt down yesterday going through all the reviews and I conluded I was trying to run while still learning to walk so I ended up back at Sharrow and got another 6 of the F&T to try and few more Wos to restock my supply and that means I’m afraid, after looking at my new bank balance, I will have to sadly forgo the real good stuff for now. I was afraid also that if I liked it to much I wouldn’t use all the other stuff I already have. I’ll see were things are at again next month if there is anything left? but at least I’ve got a good lot of new one’s to try meanwhile. Hope you all enjoy yours.

@I_snuff_therefore___ I’ve been there, and it’s not such a bad thing. It forces you to give the snuff you have, a real honest try, and sometimes you find a few real favorites that way.

I think we all are TAD ( tobacco acquisition disease ) afflicted …I never been diagnosed… Neither has been my brother ( and we are cut from same cloth ) who has no vices… Except work work work… Said something in passing to me " if we weren’t so OCD " I think he’s right, I got OCD as well

Just noticed WOS got my order wrong and sent me Macouba instead of Morlaix. Luckily I really like Mocouba but now won’t find out if I liked Morlaix. Once they sent me a large Toast No.20 when I ordered a small. That I didn’t mention to them. I dropped them a note. Just tried the Bereau. Not sure about that one. Does seems soapy and granny’s dresser.

@I_snuff_therefore___ I’ve kind of done the same. I opened a parcel today and decided to ease off getting any more for now. I need to start making some headway through the pile of flavours I’ve acquired getting my head round what my tastes are. I have around 25 different flavours in at the moment, and I’d like to eventually get this down to maybe 3 or 4 regular favourites of SP/plain and floral/fruity, and a couple or three mentholated. I don’t mind having a couple more kicking around as occasional “treats”, but I don’t want to end up swimming in tins of stuff that’s not getting a proper chance at nasal glory

I hear you 50ft_trad but boy have I got a nose full of flavour at the moment. Just finished a quick try of all my 5 (should have been 6) new F&T’s and here are some quick thoughts in the order in which I tried them. Bureau I mentioned above. Seems along the lines of Royal George and Lavender and Wallflower mostly wallflower all of which I binned but I think I might manage to struggle through using this F&T as it seems better quality and nicer to me than those I binned but not by a great amount. I may need a mixer for it so kind of dissapointing. I’d seen some unfavourable reviews and that’s why I tried it first to get it out of the way and sadly I have to agree wiht the negative opinions about this one. Seville: This is really soapy but then comes across as a musky ladies perfume and I think I like it and it could possibly grow a lot on me. I imagine this would be really nice outdoors or before bed. Really lasts in the nose as does the Bureau which may have contaminated my scent of this Seville. On and on but it’s not heavy, it is luxurous. I like it in my collection for an occasional and look forward to my next try with it. Might be great mixed with some Bureau or I might try some Rose with the Bureau to see if that helps. Morocco: Super. This might make a great blend with the seville. Just fabulous scents when taking this after the Seville and I tried to clean my nose of the Seville beforehand. Spicy musk and a bit fiery, maybe rose or cinamon in the spice. Not lingering compared to the Seville. At this point I felt great. Santo Domingo. Didn’t spend long on this. Very similar to best Dark I thought but more intense earthyness. Probably a good winter use snuff? I’d need to try it more to know better. It took over the scents of the others and I can still smell it so must be real stayer also. Princess Special. Can’t really remember much about this, just that I got the impression that I will like it but it’s not as powerful as some of the others. I think it’s like a jasmine or violet sp’ish thing or a bit like Wos Kendal Brown which I do like. Morlaix. No idea. Wonder should they offer to send me one as a replacement. I’m not bothered but if they did I would greatfully accept. So out of all this I think the Morroco and Seville have made the order worth while and the others I think will be ok to use but I don’t see them being a re-order at the moment. Morroco and Seville are very nice and that blend is going to be awesome. The Other WOS I got were Grand Cairo, Jasmine, Rose and Strasbourg all of which I have tried before and like or are great for mixing and Jockey Club which I have left sealed for now but it’s another floral I believe. I’m currently using a few blends of my own and one of them I was amazed to find was very close to Macouba when got the opportunity to try that. My toast blend I decribed as fried onion but I’m not getting that so much now but not using it all day at the moment either. My 3rd blend I sort of imagine being my own Fields of Juniper so I will be interested to try the real thing and see if it has any similarity whatsoever but I like it very much before bed and I tried to remeber all the snuff I had used to make it and I think this is the list and is why I ordered a lot of these again from WOS. I also refer to it as bedroom blend as thats normally were it resides. Jasmine base Grand Cairo, a lot Rose, a little Strasbourg/ No.20 Toast for the lemon citrus tang, little of each Kendal Brown, a little but probably not needed Geranium, a little Bordeau F&T, a little and lastly a little McCrystals Original & Best The whole thing is something like the Bordeau but not just as heavy so good as an all dayer if wanted. Morocco and Seville though. Those have made my day.
