I have 2 of the Rococo stainless steel snuff spoon and they are great but there is just something about hand making something for yourself, so today I made my first wooden snuff spoon, it took about 3 hours to make and I’m very pleased with the result…
Very nice. Great job!
@SnuffSniffer did you use a lathe for the handle?

Yes.
sweet!
This is really a beautiful snuff spoon, well done!
Nice !
Congrats on that. I’m surprised it only took 3 hours
Well Done !!!
That´s a pro work! Very nice!
That is some great looking work.
Makes me want to break out the mini lathe.
I think you must begin production and sell this piece of art online, MrSnuff for example, will be a bestseller I am sure!
@snuffsniffer you’ve inspired me to make myself a snuff spoon. If you can make one that looks that good in 3 hours I’m sure I could make a functional one in a short span of time. Any tips?
It’s not professional, it’s amateur… A professional is concerned with turning out product at a profit, an amateur is concerned with self-expression as a labor of love. I much prefer the latter. That spoon has soul.

Well if you have lathe just turn it till you get the handle the way you want it and leave a ball shape on the end then sand one side of the ball tip flat and carve your spoon pocket (the hardest part), I used a rotary burr and sanding ball, then polish/wax it and you have your custom snuff spoon

Well I hope to make some to sell but also hope to retain the soul
whatever it is it is the first wooden snuff spoon I’ve seen I would use or I find comperable to a good silver spoon. (yeah not typicaly a fan of wooden snuff spoons, but that one is impressive and nice.)
i made 2 a few years ago out of teak and monkey pod wood not as nice at that one thou
spoon, model #2 a snuff spoon/pipe tamper combo made of Zircote wood…
thanks for the pic. It is interesting to watch as an artist refines a design. What are the dimensions? The pipe tamper is a nice touch but either needs to be wider or that spoon is about 16" long, lol.
