The latest Snuff Store newsletter announced 4 new snuffs from Wilsons of Sharrow. That’s four more on top of the Rum & Raisin that came out a couple of weeks ago. Lemon Toast Sandalwood Brandy Whisky I’m particularly looking forward to the Lemon Toast. Anybody who has tried these and the Rum & Raisin please let us know what you think.
I bet PipenSnusnSnuff would be interested in the Sandlewood. I’d try the Lemon Toast.
Yeah, I would like to try Wilson’s sandalwood. But the other flavors sound good, too. Does Snuff Store ship to the US, or are they one of the vendors that has decided they don’t want to mess with PACT?
Yes, they definitely ship to the US. No UK vendors give a rat’s arse about PACT as far as I know. It our law, not theirs. Some, however are funny about taking US credit cards. No problems with Snuff Store though.
Some of the snus vendors and manufacturers do give a rat’s arse, unfortunately. I didn’t know if it was the same with snuff or not.
Is Snuff Store the place with the ungodly shipping, or am I thinking of someone else?
It is nothing to do with UK retailers being funny about taking US credit cards. Rather it is all about US credit card processors being funny about dealing with tobacco transactions. Not PACT but seemingly related.
Yes, Tony, I know. I was just trying to simplify it for the newbies. Obviously Snuff Store and a few other retailers have found processors that don’t try to make law. Snuff.me.uk, Toque and Aireys of Kendal being the other exceptions.
Carol, maybe you’re thinking of Rajek’s. I know they had some like a $25 shipping fee that prevented me from ordering. Lots of German stores do that.
Does Rajek’s still exist?
Wilsons Lemon Toast ? Mmmmm. I’ll be scoring myself some of that.
I wonder if the Lemon Toast is in response to Toque’s Lime Toast? I am sure they know about it.
I actually got a 10g tin of Rum and Raisin with my last large order which came in about a week ago. It does what it says on the tin, Rum and Raisin, reminds me of my childhood favourite rum and raisin ice cream, however it isn’t as sweet as ice cream but sweet nonetheless. When you open the tin, you can definitely smell the run, it’s right there sitting up front with the raisin complementing it pefectly with the scent lingering for a while when in the nose. The mositure is medium, tends to clump slightly in the tin which I don’t mind. The grind is also medium, around the same grind as WoS Chocolate Orange. The nicotine is noticable at a moderate rate shortly after taking a pinch and will satisfy your cravings,. Overall it’s a lovely snuff that will take you back to being a child, shovelling huge spoonfuls of ice cream into your mouth. Definitely recommended for the rum lovers out there. I would just like to add, that this is my first review of sort of and snuff, so might not be 100% accurate.
Thanks Snuffin! I could not resist, I have had the hot’s for some Attar of Rose from the snuff store, but not bad enough to place a small order. The possibility of the new Wilsons snuff flavors put me over the edge. Lemon Toast has great potential, at least that’s what my feeble brain anticipates. My snuff store experience was great, used US Visa card, reasonable shipping, lots of exotic snuff choices that have not shown up yet at Mr Snuff. I was up all night reading reviews of crazy snuffs.
@Whalen - Yeah, Snuff Store are great. They tend to do special offers from time to time as well. I got a WoS Thyme and Lemon 10g for only 60pence. They are extremely quick in getting orders out and the selection they have brilliant. I go to them for all my snuff.
Wilsons are currently doing a “buy two get one free” offer on the new flavours - Lemon Toast, Sandalwood, Brandy, Whisky and Rum and Raisin. It’s £10 minimum order for free U.K. postage. Current prices are £2.70 for 25g, £1.50 for 10g, £1.10 for 5g. Half pound tubs are £16 and pound tubs are £30. Call them up on 01142 662 677 (the new flavours haven’t made it to their online store as yet).
I’m going to hit Mr. Snuff up for these. I need a change of pace.
Well as I posted separately I received these new snuffs, the Lemon Toast is every bit what I was looking for, being a fan of lemon snuffs. Snuffin has posted about the Rum and Raisin above, and I think the review is spot on. The raisin is delicious, I mean it makes my mouth water, quite sweet and pungent with wonderful fruity aromas, and I am surprised how much I like it. It has to be cloying, but I have not gotten there yet. Squeeze open a fresh plump raisin and that is what you get, and rum. Never had a snuff make me hungry for dessert before, so I consider this one a dessert snuff, I just simply taste this one. One of very few snuffs that has completely overwhelmed me with flavor. I have the Rum and Blackberry, and that is just what it smells like, although blackberry is not the trigger for me like the raisin is. I recommend this one, and look forward to more reviews from more discriminating noses.
I’m really looking forward to giving the Whisky a go, looks like I might have to wait until September to make an order though.
I got the WoS Sandalwood today and it is absolutely top notch. A lot of sandalwood products are either too sweet or too woody, but this snuff is perfectly balanced between the two. If you like sandalwood, you owe it to yourself to order a tin or three of this. You won’t be disappointed.
