Just browsing Wilsons of Sharrow’s website and I see these two new blends listed for sale, but no photos posted yet. I hope to try them soon, and also the Sherry which I hadn’t got to yet, though its been out a few months now.

Between SG and WoS … looks like the race is on for Apple snuff … but I thought I recalled reading from Roderick in the new Toque flavors thread that apple was a hard scent to duplicate. These sound good, though.

B

Snuffbrant, Roderick says every flavor is "impossible’ so he looks like a WIZARD when they are produced. That’s how he works

S

aha! well now i know … thanks, bart. i might add, though, with his wizardry with flavors - he should have beat the old school snuff makers to this one, then. i will say, based on Cherry, Strawberry and Apricot from SG, i am reluctant to give their chemical flavoring any credence. i will gladly await Roderick’s impossible Apple.

T

The first snuff miller to make a lilac flavored snuff will be the first one to impress me!

B

When you’ve got a small team or one man trying to blend a scent it’s impossible untill you get it. Especialy if you’re using natural flavors. I’ve seen the same thing with chefs a million times. They’re trying to pull off something very specfic and while they’re trying to get it oh it’s impossible they’re stupid for trying then of course this is where it differs from roderick once they do get it, suddenly it’s reallly really easy and any idiot can do it. (doesn’t matter how many years it took of trying to make tofu taste like bacon without using fat it’s simple). So sometimes it’s good that we don’t hear the whole creative process cause it doesn’t make the best copy.

B

Blackcurrant? Does that mean that they’re aiming this one at americans? Or I’am I miss informed when told that brits refer to black currants as black berry? Someone help an ill-informed american out.

S

Blackcurrant and black berry are two different fruits. A blackcurrant is a small round berry, a blackberry is similar to rasberry.

B

does thou speak as a brit?

S

Indeed, I do!

B

awesome thank you.

B

my info source on that one is sometimes right and sometimes completely off about half and half so I had to ask.

B

Don’t trust your info source on Dingleberries, Bob. I can tell you the truth about them.

B

I hear they’ll give you free dingleberry jam at the factory tour, if you ask.

T

It’s called Dholakia Black

B

I’ve heard that about Dholakia Black and NTSU too. I definatly want to try the black.

P

@bob i am not totally sure but in case you are serious about it, go and try the NTSU Black - it is a hell of a rought redneck nic bomb. about the topic, i cant wait to get the apple flavour (i really like apples) from all of thoose who produce some

B

I’ve tried the NTSU black. Not bad liked the scent alot. Didn’t really feel like it was that strong to be honest.

X

So did anybody try these yet? They’ve been out a few weeks now.

P

@bob Really ? I have to admit that this somehow surprises me because i feel definitly the strong kick NTSU Black provides to my nostrils. Maybe you are a die-hard nic-addict ? (NOT A OFFENSE!!!)

X

The trick with Ntsu is to pack as much as you can into your nose in one go, I mean like a quarter of a tub or so. Its not hard because of the consitency.

P

@Xander I totally agree. I shoffel it up my nose until both holes are filled and then enjoy the rush. That is the way to go

T

WoS Apple is DELICIOUS!!! You guys need to try this! It’s a moist, medium grind snuff with medium nic. It has a very suprisingly REFRESHING APPLE scent! And the drip is so good… They definitely did a good job with this snuff. I don’t enjoy the fruity snuffs too much but this one is an exception. A+

C

Any chance you have tried SG Apple, Transistor? I wonder how it compares. I’ll throw it in the basket next time.

S

Thanks for the update Transistor. I have both of the WoS apples in the mail now. Sounds like I won’t be disappointed.

T

@cstokes4 no, I haven’t tried the SG apple- I haven’t been very impressed with SG’s fruity snuffs for some reason- I find them very artificial. WoS’ apple is quite realistic… but its also very clean tasting… you’ll just have to try it. It’s good.

W

I’ve tried SG Apple and it was very nice, I’ve got to try this WoS Apple, it sounds right up my street. Stefan

P

i have to try them both as soon as possible. i totally love Apples and i hope the taste of one of them is to my liking. I have a good feeling about this.

D

i must agree, WoS apple is delicious…nice subtle apple scent, for me thats how fruit snuffs should be.

T

Yeah the WoS is the best fruit snuff I’ve had yet. And I don’t do fruit normally.

D

just for the records, beside the nice apple seems to be also a bit grand cairo in this snuff.

X

didi, you just upped the ante!

S

I finally got around to opening my tin of Apple today. It seemed pretty fresh, no ammonia scent tho. The very first whiff consisted of a bean sized scoop on a pocket knife blade taken in both nostrils. The first thing that grabbed my attention was fresh apples, a bit tart, like a Granny Smith sour. However, I took two more follow up doses a few minutes later including an extra large dose at the end. At this point the scent began to change, it turned into a spicey SP with a hint of apple in the background. I think Didi878 described it well with the Grand Cairo comment. To me its like Apple SP or Grand Cairo Apple. Who knows what more this might reveal after prolonged usage. Haven’t opened the A&B yet so I might have to try that one tomorrow.

W

@Spyro I have to get a tin of that, sounds delicious. Stefan

D

@spyro If you just get a hint of apple after a extra large dose, breathe slowly and deep through the nose, then the full apple should be back

S

Ok, I tried a few samples using pinching techniques. I used the standard finger and thumb and the heated thumb crease. The warming did seem to prolong the apple and tone down the SP a notch. So far I like it on the rocks just as well, cold and straight from the tin. Thanks for the tip Didi, I usually take large doses so that’s good to know.
