I could care less. I quit smoking because the stuff in those pictures are a reality and I don’t want any of it. However, they want you to quit with their patch or new pill that kills people in clinical trials and drives people to suicide or not at all. Oh but those ecigs… anything but those! Where’s the pictures of A obeise man that can’t get out of bed on all those Big Macs they sell to millions of people every day?? What about labelling all that slop?? I guess people are so dumb nowadays we need picture books to tell us that smoking is bad. Fewer words more pictures please derp derp.

I agree. don’t they understand that people just buy a cigarette case. i tried the patches, gum, etc. none worked. a pipe and snuff. I normally get real mad about this, no more. Those in charge will not listen. Just leave my snuff alone!

Are such ‘warning pictures’ a new thing in the U.S? Here in England we’ve had pictures of that nature on cigarette packets for a few years or so.

Here in Canada we’ve had pictures like these on all packs of cigarettes.

I couldn’t finish that article nightcap, it made me angry. I’m in the US, but your officials seem like they have brain cancer. Why do several of the officials have muslim names? Of course they wouldn’t like cigarettes, or any western style of using tobacco. But im sure they think a hooka is just fine…

Also, they have a ‘non smokers rights group’. are you kidding me? They have ALL the rights already, and don’t share any with smokers. Don’t they have anything better to do than bitch. I guess I still miss smoking. If it weren’t for all the bans, and I could smoke at work I would of never of quit. And I would be enjoying the hell out of it. It’s all about lifestyle. I would still exercise. I would still eat healthy. What is smoking gonna do? nothing… Just some people coincidentally got sick and they smoked. What about all the non smokers that die of cancer. What do they blame that on? Its all BS. we have to die of something. Why do I have to live in the most miserable time known to man? Everything is upside down anymore. Why can’t we all just mind our own business, and realize we are all just trying to survive, and feed our families. Why do we have to butt into each others lives so much?

This is a new tactic here in the USA. I dont think it will stop any current cig smokers. Just makes the politics happy because they can then feel like they did something. But they sure do love those tobacco taxes dont they?

I’m with Mark - people butt into other’s lives far too much. Better to just each of us live our lives as best we can. So long as we’re not hurting anyone else, it’s no one else’s business what we do. And Don, you’re right, they better let me keep my snuff!

Rob is a great advertisement for ecigs. He’s one of the great success stories. Mike, there is nothing wrong with ecigs, but the FDA wants their piece of the fun so are trying their best to make those of us who use them jump through hoops to support our lifestyle. It’s just more BS.

This is going to disapear if it starts drifting to stuff about muslims and politics.

It’s near impossible to never discuss politics when on a tobacco board, because tobacco is political. Just wait till they post graphic and untrue pics on smokeless tobacco packages. The poor guys at Northerner will have to slap on stickers of rotted jaws on their snus cans before being allowed to sell it. It did happen like that with the worded warnings, future graphics is probably going to come. You give them an inch and they want and take mile.

@MikeMoose Thanks man heh Nothing THAT I KNOW OF is wrong with ecigs. Regardless of what anyone says, it’s relatively harmless unless you have an allergy to the ingredients just like ANYTHING ELSE. The FDA is worried because ecigs are growing at an alarming rate because they WORK. This takes money out of their pockets. They turn to FEAR MONGERING to sell more of their NRT’s that don’t work. The patch has something like a 5% success rate. That’s pathetic if you ask me. The ecig is Much Higher or so I’ve heard. All I know is it’s the only thing that got me off of the “nasties.” @markW I completely agree with you on several aspects, however if you think smoking isn’t bad for you you’re crazy. No amount of exercise or healthy dieting is going to stop they 4000 poisonous chemicals you’re putting directly into your lungs. Honey Flue Cured Tobacco, Applewood tobacco, the list is endless. With all the DIY snuff you guys are into, I bet you guys could go buck wild with an e-liquid kit…

I hate politics. It divides everyone. I don’t understand how it could be “impossible not to talk about it.” Tobacco is only political if you turn it into that…

I’m not talking about the wars or the President, just the subject here of “warning labels”, the FDA., etc, is political. Sure we don’t need to discuss Marxism, or such, but the thread here is political, and when it comes to tobacco, that will at times appear.

As Snuffster said, keep the politics out or the thread goes. It is not open for debate.

I just tend to agree with Transistor, it’s a nasty fact but true in my book that considerable obesity is a more serious risk. Diabetes, heart disease, lots of nasty things, but no picture of a dead fat guy on a bag of doughnuts. As a counterblast I recommend, again, google ‘You Tube, Bertrand Russell Smoking’ - how it saved his life. Love that one.

I honestly feel that alcohol is the worst legal drug out there right now… why don’t we see pictures of drunk guys beating their wives and kids or driving their cars through a park? I don’t even smoke cigarettes but this ticks me off because then when is it going to stop?

I agree snuffnpuff. I think the main diffrence with smoking is how little middle ground there is. It’s easier to eat some high calorie high cholesterol food occasionaly then it is to smoke a few cigarettes. Recently the W.H.O. ranked alchool as the most destructive drug period. Though rich food is the number one killer of americans.

Valid point - it can be a kind of ‘macho’ thing and give a perverse sense of glamour or rebelliousness. I also remember the days of the ‘Death’ cigarettes!
