Look at these. From my days of black powder shooting. Going to make awesome snuff tins.

M

I can’t quite make out what it says on the tins, but if it held gun powder I think that would have lead in it. You should be sure to really clean them out good before using them for snuff. Otherwise that would be a cool thing to carry snuff in, I’m familiar with CCI ammunition for say a .22 Rifle but again if they contained raw gun powder I would clean them really good.

I

Mmm gun powder snuff.

M

lol

They held percussion caps. Gave them a really good scrub and filled them with charcoal for a while. Scrubbed them again and they are now very clean. But gunpowder snuff would be awesome. Explosive stuff. Lol.

If you don’t clean those tins really well, you may, in time, get a buildup of gunpowder in your nose. If that is the case, please be careful when relighting cigars or short pipes, or smoking filterless cigarettes all the way down. The proximity of the flame might cause your nose to explode. This would have a permanent effect on your enjoyment of snuff. X_X

That would be something to behold. Like a comedy horror. Lol. BOOM!!! mucus, snuff and pieces of nose everywhere.

I

That’s okay. Everyone is in danger around me. I use soap with gunpowder in it.

That’s a strange thing.

I

I’m a strange man with strange tastes. When I started doing snuff, no one I know even questioned it. When I went to a work meeting in a kilt, no one was surprised.

@Igglet - Legendary =))

You may find it difficult to find the tins. As with everything relation to that hobby, caps are becoming difficult to purchase

S

Fortunately for me I still have 3. When they become unusable I will have to resort to using regular snuff tins.

There’s no lead in gunpowder (or smokeless for that matter) but primers and caps usually have lead compounds in them. I’m sure there wouldn’t be anywhere near enough residue to pose a health risk though.
