Satyr reviewed this snuff box and if you search the site you can see a couple of pictures of it, sorry Im an old IT dummy and have no idea how to put the pictures here!: Its steel, chrome finish and about 5cm in diameter. There is a slight leakage from the hinge if you shake it hard but that is common to a lot of hinged lid boxes, to some extent, in my experience. I don’t find this a problem as it very adequately keeps a days snuff in it. Ive been using it as my work snuff box for the last few days and Im very satisfied with its performance. It has a good solid feel in the pocket and is a nice neat size. The best thing about it is that it is very cheap for the quality. 6 Euros for a robust work a day snuff box is pretty good IMHO. The down side is that Rajeks charge quite a hefty fee for shipping but that is more than made up by the quality of the box - in all I paid about £20 for this. Satyr called this a real working mans snuff tin and I couldn’t agree more - if you are looking for a good, plain, robust box then this would suit you. And by the way, I have a blend of FUBAR grunt and shot of rum in it!

They appear to have two that match your description: and You can buy them at Rajek’s Here (top) and Here (bottom). The plain one would be good for engraving (perhaps with the ISTA crest?). I am also in love with the silver and sapphire one (not an everyday box, certainly) Mixing FUBAR Grunt and Shot of Rum? Hey, I was doing that!! I thought it would make a nice tropical cocktail flavor.

Thats the box Xander, thanks for the picks, and yeah that mixture is pretty good. It took me a while to see the quality of Fubar but the grunt and rum have really grown on me.

Know what you mean about postage but I was just taken with it

@ midnightmosesuk: I hear you loud and clear. I think the only way to make any order from Rajek’s worthwhile would be to make it a big one. If we organize the ISTA into national chapters, then each chapter could order a bunch of these for members in their country thereby splitting the postage costs. Or just get some of your friends to make a group order. I’d like to visit Rajek’s in person someday. That would really save on shipping costs! (But I’d have to pay to ship myself there)

Difficult to see how the ISTA is going to progress. It needs some focused leadership. I think Roderick, if he has the time, would be the ideal candidate to get it firmly off the ground.

Roderick could be good, although being a producer of one brand of snuff, it could make the organization seem biased towards a particula company. Whose idea was the whole thing anyway? Alex’s?

I think so

but without someone like Roderick - bias accepted - I think it will remain just a name; the concept has been kicked around for about a year and the simple fact is that we are a very difuse group. Without sitting round a table and getting it kick started as you would ordinarily its hard to see how it can go forward.
