Need help choosing snuff. Beginner

Hello So I’m another one beginner. I’ve tried only one snuff - poschl gawith apricot. I will be ordering some snuff and I’m thinking which ones to take. My first toughts are WoS - camphor mild, McC O&G and somekind of cherry snuff, maybe toque cherry. So how are these snuffs for beginner? Any suggestions on which snuff to add? P.S. sorry if you don’t understand. I’m not good at speaking english

I started with Poschl’s Raspberry and tried most of their offerings for a month or so. Then I tried several different types and still am. It took my nose about 4 months to get to the point where I could snuff the tougher ones. I can safely say it has become a bit of an obsession.

I don’t think i should buy poschl. Everytime i take gawith apricot i get running nose

Your English is fine. Snuff preferences are quite individual. The only way to find out what you like is to try different types.

Well I’ve already read that snuff preferences are individual. But I’m asking to know if these are beginner friendly. Could anyone suggest beginner friendly cherry snuff? I really enjoy the scent of pipe cherry tobacco

I’ve used Toque Peach which is very - to my mind - beginner friendly. Perhaps Toque has a cherry flavor that you might try? I also like WoS Chocolate Orange, which is very mild. Neither of these seems to me to be very strong on the nic however. Good luck! And let us know your experiences.

I would say that O&G is quite friendly grind wise, and although the flavour of it is strong, due to its complexity you don’t get a huge amount of burn…well I don’t anyway. I think it’d be a good place to start. I would also recommend Wilsons of Sharrow, as although these can be a bit dry and finer, they are excellent snuffs and avaliable direct in very small tins or a sample selection, as with Toque. That would probably be the best way to find your personnal ‘grove’.

I don’t think any beginner could go wrong with the toque 10 tins for like $20 deal. Just pick one of each thing that sounds interesting to you with a mind for variety and exploring. If anything it will help you to figure out what you like and what you don’t. It really is a good way to get your feet wet as far as a sample pack can go. Ken

Make sure to try some non menthol snuffs as well

Toque Cherry and Cherry menthol are really nice. The flavor is like real cherries and does not have the artificial candy cherry flavor like the others.

@Rans is spot on about Toque’s Cherry Menthol. It’s delicious AND delicate. I recommend taking a pinch inside and then having a step outside into the cold to really appreciate it.

I’d say skip mentholated snuffs altogether for a beginner who’s exploring snuff.

@Snuffan, your best bet is to pick the 10 for 9 Toque offer or a WoS gift set (there’s a 12 tins one, I think) picking the names you like (I did it when I was starting out and I’ve been very very happy =)). I’m saying this because the way you perceive snuff is really very personal, a lot more than, say, a movie or a song - scents go right to your brain, and have the potential to summon the most varied memories and feelings. Snuff that get rave reviews and should be the best thing since sliced bread can turn out to be awful *for you* simply because they remind you (on some conscious/liminal/subconscious level) of an unpleasant experience; on the other hand, you’ll see that Toque Cheese & Bacon has quite a few enthusiastic followers - and I urge you to really think about this! =) So, basically, I’d just try to avoid the strongest ones (no Dholakia White, no Bruton etc unless you are prepared to buy something you might not appreciate for a while), and perhaps also the ones that you can’t find in 10g or smaller tins - the rest is fair game. Even if a few will make you sneeze and cough and drip at first, and there’s bound to be some that you just won’t like, having a large-ish sampler is the surest way to find those you *do* like. And, frankly, it’s not as if they’re so expensive, right?

Just avoid toasts, scotch and Dholkia Indian range for the time being (as said above), apart from that just try as many as you can based on what flavours appeal. Its such a personal taste thing that apart from saying leave off the strong ones any other advice is difficult to give in any meaningful way.

I began my snuff adventure with Gawith Apricot and Lowen Prise - both Poeschl, of course. The latter is my favourite up to this day, the former… well, let;s just say that I am not a big fan of Gawith Apricot

WoS Apricot was one of my very first snuffs too, and I still enjoy it occasionally. But there’s so much to try! I’ve thought about trying Gawith Apricot, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I keep expanding my wishlist, faster than my acquirements add up… And now I’m to the stage of restocking some favorites too, and starting to look for more in bulk. That’s harder than I imagined it would be. WoS Chocolate Orange is a nice mild snuff and one that keeps coming back for me. I sure wish I could find 450g of that stuff! Mr Snuff has about every other WoS in bulk except that one. Figures, doesn’t it? I’ll just have to content myself with more frequent orders.

Well i was thinking about taking the toque samplers but, I really like the scent of camphor so i want WoS camphor & mild snuff  maybe theres toque alternative?
