I haven’t snuffed almost all day since I ran out of Red Bull. But I’m carrying around this Gletscher Prise. Maybe ill want a sniff. For the last two three days I used it a few times each. I’m trying to figure out what its like. It has a different texture than Red bull. Maybe even thicker. But the aroma, what is it? defiantly some tobacco what else. Sitting here at work And suddenly I was in the mood of a pinch. I took a nice pinch and shot it right up half on each side and just took a breath. And it came to me. I smell, fresh cigars. and maybe even a little of that smoking lounge aroma. Can anyone relate?
When my local shop here in Japan carried it- Gletscher Prise was my favored snuff, this was before I started ordering from Toque and Mr. Snuff. Now the shop stopped carrying it and only carry Gawith Apricot and a very dry SG Menthol. While I like the Apricot, it gets old after a while. Lucking I am stocked up with a nice assortment from Mr. Snuff and will be soon from Toque. As for cigar shops/lounges- Back in the states there was one just around the corner and where I could be often found on a Sunday or even after work- when I would stop in for a cigar or two and often take one there. Very good conversations were had over a nice cigar.
I quite like this snuff. I think it contains peppermint oil, and agree @Friendlyman the tobacco does come through. One of the better Poschl snuffs. Not now a fan of their fruity menthols such a cherry, and raspberry.
Fruity snuffs are for some reason just to artificial for me. They remind me of oders that cause me to get migraines.
I think Toque Peach is a good natural fruit snuff, with no menthol
Gletscherprise does have a very good tobacco base and the look and texture is different than Red Bull and Lowenprise. I have recently been getting back into Poschl snuffs, the tap boxes are perfect for these types and are convenient for on the go. Fruit snuffs are really my least favorite, I have only tried the Ozona Raspberry and it is just ok. If I do fruits Toque is my go to and SG has a few excellent ones.
Have to say I don’t really do Menthol snuffs as I rarely get anything other than Menthol… they seem like sniffing a medicated nose decongestant to me , but once again the forum has me wondering … Maybe Gletscher Prise is worth a go
I’ve snuffed quite a bit of Gletscherprise in my time and it’s no surprise that it’s Poschl’s flagship snuff. In Germany, as far as snuff goes, that makes it the “everyday” or most basic snuff. Good quality, easy to obtain in almost every magazine/newspaper/tobacco shop and probably the snuff that most Germans try first (if they try snuff at all that is). I always liked it but it’s also a stepping stone kind of snuff. You get menthol (a German thing too, probably because Poschl does it and that makes it “the normal thing to do”) and you can definitely taste the tobacco, so it’s sort of the best of both, but once the habit or hobby hits you, you will also want to move on from it and try others. There is also a snuff called Gletscherprise Extra which is a much lighter coloured (Virginia?) and slightly more dry and coarse variation with the same Columbia-oil flavour. Not quite as good in my opinion.
Sorry I keep on coming with with the questions here. I want to place my order before I keep on adding things and it never arrives Guys when you order to the states which method of shipping do you choose? the cheapest? or the one for $25 with signature?
Sorry, I meant to post the previous question in my other other thread. But I guess it could be answered here as well.

Since they started offering the cheap shipping that is all I use and have had no problems. With the signature I would sometimes have to pick it up at the post office. Also shipping is much faster than it was a year ago.
@willc Thanks, I also see they offer coupons at times? non that i see right now.
Gletscher Prise is one of the few Pöschls other than Schmalzlers (perhaps Kloster Andechs would be another exception) that I’m still able to enjoy. I’m pretty partial to both its base tobacco (darker than most Pöschls, cigary and better in quality and regularity, IMO) and its nuanced fir tree notes, which make a sweet, coniferous note that goes perfectly well with the good quality menthol and mint and the delectable base (it’s like a sweet-tobacco-instead-of-chocolate After Eight, yum). @Kiwi78 is right: In Gletscherprise Extra there’s something extra about flavor, but nothing about enjoyment. It shuts my nose so tight.
@Friendlyman I have not seen any codes for a while. Every so often they would run free shipping and 50% off shipping. MrSnuff has gotten much better with shipping prices and times. If they just packed the snuff a bit better I would consider them top notch. More than once I have received packages with snuff broken open. Andrea has always taken care of it but it is still a pain to see happen.
Gletscher Prise is a fine snuff to stand for Red Bull in a pinch. Alpina also has the pine oil and is a finer grind. If you enjoy pine scents and prefer no menthol then Latakia tobacco can be easily ground up for snuff. A favorite mix of mine is Latakia with Jasmine snuff. This mix was once made by Fribourg and Treyor. The Dutch windmills adds a pine scent to their “Latakia” for the A/P which is available as an example of a non-mentholated pine scented snuff.
