Yes, the one you’ve all been waiting for. It’s Doppel Fermentiert lite. It’s the Xmas sweet mince pie to the Doppel Fermentiert Xmas pudding. It’s possible there is quite a good amount of nicotine in it which you would imagine would be the case “if” the leaves were brewed three times. I think it gives it a little pepperiness. So that’s basically it. It’s a sweet sultana slighlty citrus (try saying that after a few) slightly peppery, good nic tobacco. I don’t honestly get any chocolate or coconut or vanilla? Yes I like it. One of my favourites? For me it doesn’t set itself apart greatly from the others such as Auld Alliance, Creme de Figue and Moro Moro. A good (super high ammonia) Creme de Figue and Auld Alliance would still be my personal favourites, I think?
@I_snuff_therefore___ ahh yes sultana … that’s that I was trying of think of when I mentioned “figginess!” I have not tried Creme de Figue, but expecting the flavour (to my nose) to be similar. As a moister snuff its not an every day snuff for me, great as a go to in the evening kinda snuff for me, like my Mull of Oa for example
I’ll probably end up giving it the Cafe 11 treatment and then it definitely will have chocolate in there. That works very well with Auld Alliance and Moro Moro. Until now I have had two versions of Creme de Figue. One with a lot of figue flavour but also a lot of ammonia but that can be gotten rid of with a good all night airing and the “normal version”, with no ammonia but also much less figue than the “strange ammonia version”. Sir Johnny actually sent me a whole replacement for the ammonia version even though I told him there was no need as I really got to like the ammonia one a lot, infact I asked him if he could make all his desert snuffs like that in future. It turned out to be definitely up there and possibly the absolute best snuff I’ve ever had, and now it’s all gone and I only have the proper version he sent me now. Of course it was extremely kind and helpful of Sir Johnny but that strong ammonia version really was something. The figue flavour after the ammonia was aired off was really good and leaving just a little ammonia in it seemed to give the tobacco a real eyewatering kick which was superb and it didn’t cause any drip either!!!
@I_snuff_therefore___ DAMN IT! Another fine snuff to add to my shopping cart. I’ll be in the poor house in record time. Hopefully they’ll allow a decent stash of snuff for the occasional recess between breaking up boulders into gravel with a sledge hammer. Creme de Figue has been on my radar for some time. It’s due for a purchase and a serious exercise for my snuff orifice. Cheers.
Looking forward to this one as it is on its way to me. Now if the shipment could hurry up already!
Just having some more of this today and getting something that I hadn’t before and that something seems to be strawberry and very nice it is. I think it’s maybe because the tin has been aired as I’ve taken snuff out and it has changed it’s flavour slightly from Sultana and Citrus and now I’m getting Strawberry! Anyhow a welcome effect. I’m liking it more. Got to wonder what the arrack was. Maybe you can tell us more about it Johnny as I see you on here just now.
