I just thought I’d share this; I’ve had a really lousy time at work for the last couple of weeks, running two departments, and dealing with all the work place politics was just about getting on top, however…I turned up for the late shift - more stress, standing in for someone who was off - when I met my best friend, who I’ve worked alongside for years. He just announced in the office that he had a belated birthday gift for me and delved in his bag and gave me a tissue wrapped object: it was a beautiful antique silver snuff box. I immediately filled it with snuff from the battered old Toque can I was using for work. I turned it up and down as I do when I get a new snuff box to see if the tobacco leaks: not a single grain. He had also had it engraved for me. I took a pinch of my Toque mixture from the box and I swear it tasted twice as good from this box. It transpired my friend had been on holiday with his wife and kids and just saw the box whilst browsing in an antique dealership. Well, I can tell you it just lifted my day on many levels. I’ll get my teenage son to post a picture…
What a great gift. Can’t wait to see the picture.

Everyone needs a friend like that.

Im really going to have to try snus. I use dip and chew on occasion, mostly Cope and Redman, so could you recommend a brand please for a potential newbie snus user?
If you like Copenhagen, you’ll probably prefer loose. Something like Ettan or Grovsnus would be good to start with. The Grovsnus has the purest tobacco flavour of any any snus I’ve tried.

snuffster is in the UK, paulwall. Best option for there I think would be Northerner. @snuffster: Northerner offers two beginner sets. One has lots of mini portions, I think the other has loose and portion. I’m perfectly content not using loose snus. I’ve not had much interest in trying lots of different types, so I’m happy with Göteborg’s No. 1. I use others, but mainly intermittantly. General is good, but the white portions burn the hell out of my gums. I could go on, but perhaps we should move this discussion to the snus thread.
Thanks guys.
