I’ve had the flu for the past week, and was using snuff during that time no problem with the scents being strong despite a blocked nose for the most part, and now, for the last 2 days my sense of smell is completely gone even though my nose isn’t blocked anymore. The only difference between all my snuffs is the texture. Even my strongest smelling snuffs SG Plum, Cheese & Bacon, Berwick brown, 6 photo etc have no scent to me. The menthols don’t smell either but they do have the burn.

Anyone had that happen before?

Luckily not! Sounds unpleasant though.

Aie, I had it happen about a month ago - couldn’t even smell garlic! After about a week I could smell again. Never could figure out what happened…

I have a friend who has never had a sense of smell.  He works at the city morgue.  So perfect for the job he does but not having a sense of smell would just plain suck.

Yep I am exactly the same at the moment but it has happens to me before. Don’t worry it comes back. I am just using pigtail instead don’t see the point in snuffing if I can’t smell it.

If I had that problem ,I would use either garlic and or echinacea Since I am not allergic or suffer asthma. .Some fresh ground horse radish make kick it back (reset). I hear one drop of warm castor oil in each nostril works fast.

I would reccomend using a netti pot a couple times and then refrain fromusing snuff for a week. If you must have some snuff then stick to menthols.

Thanks guys, I’ve spoken to friends and stuff and it can last up to a month after a cold/flu. I’ve just never really noticed it before in the past because other than snuff I don’t tend to notice much smells day to day. Right now I only notice my smell is gone when a strong snuff is right against my nose and there’s no scent.

Additionaly don’t forget scent fatigue. Which happens when you smell the same thing over and over again. It makes some snuffs more interesting because their complexity doesn’t shine untill some of the snuff is gone.

I have had the same problem, I took a week off snuff and the scents came back as strong as I first started snuffing.  But I have noticed that since the weather turned very hot and stagnant in my area, my nose is not liking the snuff.  I can take it a few times a day, but any more than that I will not be able to smell anything for a few hours.  WEIRD!

I didn’t stop snuffing, going without snuff would have been too boring but it’s coming back now.

Some snuffs are 1/2 way there, and some are 3/4. It’s nice to have variety again! A couple of days more it will probably be back to normal.
