Ok folks I just placed an order for some snuffs I haven’t tried (which there are a lot of) what do you think of these?: Dholakia Black Samuel Gawith Princes Dark McChrystals Hops QWS Sandalwood FUBAR Grunt I just want to get some feedback to keep me satisfied till they get here
My philosophy on McChrystals Snuff is, you pretty much cant go wrong with anything they make I actually forgot to put FUBAR on the order I recieved today, sniffle… Dholakia Black, now this might start a debate, but I think it smells like cow flops lol. Very Earthy, I honeslty hope you enjoy it more than I did. Nice order.
That sounds like a good variety of snuff’s their rdunnion.

I went with the Dholakia Black because I’ve always had a liking for dark stuff; stouts, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee. So this one claimed to be black as the earth so I went with it. Hopefully I’ll like it. @ DaveK313 - Thanks. You, and everyone else, can call me Ryan.
Ryan I would like to try Dholakia White sometime myself would you recommend it to be a good snuff, because I’m a “nic” junky myself always looking for the strongest and powerful snuffs out there Toque quit is o.k. but I would like to find a stronger snuff than Toque quit can you help/recommend some other snuffs that would be “up my alley” please.
Ryan, have you had the pleasure of trying any Schmalzer’s? If you like dark, that might do it for you, its dark and sort of sweet, fermented fruit thing. Im really not doing it any justice with my pathetic description. Its my desert and movie snuff. Bernards Zwiefacher Smalzler and Aecht altbayerischer Schmalzler, might be something you enjoy…
@digitalsedition - Does this snuff have any menthol?
@rdunnion Zwiefacher has a bit of menthol, it’s also quite sweet. Aecht Altbayerischer is less sweet, like fermented plums mainly and more smokey, without any menthol. If you like menthol you can also give a try to Bernard’s Amostrinha, very smokey with nice menthol, if not, I can also suggest Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert; all of them are great schmalzlers made by Bernard.
Ryan, I am in similiar boat as you with the menthol’s cloging me up something fierce. The Zwiefacher is one of the few that dont, the menthol only seems to complient the rest of it all, but every nose is different. Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert, is another favorite. Actually Ive yet to try a Bernard Snuff I didnt love instantly, but thats me.
Great advice guys thx
my favorite of the schmalzlers is Südfrucht made by Pöschl. No menthol, very fruity and tasty. as for your order, the Dholakia Black is earthy smelling, its kind of a love it or hate it snuff. I’ve only tried Wilson’s of Sharrow Princes, not sure if how the Samuel Gawith compares to it McChrystal’s Hops is awesome, reminds me of Rolling Rock beer I’m not a big sandalwood fan, whether its incense or snuff and FUBAR Grunt is good strong snuff
@DaveK313 - I have not tried the white. I too like a strong nic hit and have found the coarser grinds tend to give a longer lasting buzz. If you try it let me know. The FUBAR snuffs are supposed to be strong but I cannot say from experience. The US scotches are allegedly really strong esp. Rooster. One guy OD’d on Rooster, it’s that strong. I’ve found Toque Kendal Brown to be stron and quite tasty, I just ordered a 25g to hold me over until I can buy it in bulk. @digitalsedition - I have not tried a schmalzer. It sounds good and when I place an order with a vendor that has a non-menthol one I am definately gonna grab a couple. @snuff_n00b - A Poschl with no menthol? Thats a joke right.
Mmm, Dholakia Black and Grunt. Poop and coconut, who needs more? Love those two.
sounds like the makings of a geurilla bomb! You’re not a terrorist are you?
Ryan, next order, you gotta try Bernard’s Klostermischung. black, sweet, fruity, fermented kind of a smell. No menthol. best description I ever heard is “it’s like stuffing a fruitcake up your nose” I think I’ll have another pinch right now! A big one.
Are these schmalzers easy on the nose? I’m thinking they are.
They are the easiest.
I agree, very easy
@ k5btp- About that Klostermischung, I never had a fruitcake that smelled this good I’m with you on one thing though, a pinch for me as well. Highly recommended!
