Hi all well I have read a lot in here and today went out on my first snuff shoping trip . I decided on the following Mediated 99 Wos raspberry Gawith apricot Wos gold label Wos jockey club Wos cherry menthol Wos morlaix Wos royal George Sp made by again Wos apparently ? And a.wooden snuff box il post a pic of it. So I guess snuff time for me !
Small new collection to enjoy and kick the cigs with !
What snuff is in the bag? I am guessing it is the Snuff Store blend? If so it is not made by WoS. Who actually makes it is still up for debate, the description makes no sense:Bespoke’s hand-made snuff blends have aquired something of a cult following, and have been sadly missed by many since the closure of Bespoke Tobacco in 2007. We had for a while been able to obtain several blends of Bespoke Snuff, unfortunately the supply of these has dried up. We do however offer several other blends in the speciality snuff section, which have been made for Snuff Store on a ‘bespoke’ service by a leading UK snuff blender. The speciality snuffs have been linked below to the Bespoke Snuff section of the site. Hopefully some time in the future we will be able to offer the Bespoke Snuff range, but we’re sure you’ll find exploring the below ‘bespoke’ Speciality Snuffs a fun diversion!
It was in a massive air tight jar, they said it is Wos sp it has a light scent of lavender fantastic base tobacco which went in my eye as I smelt it again, that bag cost me £1.55p so very cheap ! Edit Ah I see, thank-you for that info the lady was a bit vague when asked about it
I’m here with family in cornwall and come home tomorrow, if you would like a bag I can pick you a bag up and pop it in the post tomorrow !
Ah, you bought this in a brick-n-mortar! That explains it then. Thanks for the offer, but as you will see I am already known as a hoarder! That is a fantastic price!
Good set, joe! Maybe you could tell more about the shop, name and address, people visit Cornwall all the time. All the best and enjoy.
Hi allan, it was In chapel street In penzance and also a hidden gem of a shop In a village called st just well just outside st just, I was surprised to only find two as cornwall was a mining area so I expected more but business is not that good, the shop in penzance has just won an award for its business. Out of the two the penzance one was better, really nice eccentric guy who had a lot of knowledge about snuff and the area. I will find out the name and they have a web site but its basic and they don’t sell online .
I went back and brought a snuff store Sp a small bag and they are very much diffetent even in colour. The lady assured me it was Wos Sp in the big bag ? I have no idea but I picked up 5 bags If anyone wants to try it !
@joe I’ll give that a try! Contact me in private?
Being able to buy snuff store blends in the flesh is pretty special! I’ll have to bear the place in mind if I’m ever down that way.
Excellent, joe! Seems Pencanze is kind of snuff capital of these islands, l especially like that they have bulk snuff too, that really makes difference. Wilsons Sp is one good snuff!
I am quite baffled to see the Snuff Store Traditional SP found in a brick & mortar shop. Perhaps Tim is selling some of his excess off? @joe: you are quite fortunate to have found such a good variety of snuff in a B&M shop, and bulk snuff to boot. @cstokes4: yes, that passage is confusing. They could/should simply say: We are unable to acquire the Bespoke snuffs any longer. Please see instead our own blends, now on this page which are custom made for us.
They had lots of it in a wooden box, and one called torque or toque Christmas pudding or something lol sounds interesting.
This is the shop: www.cornwall-cigar.co.uk And story about their prize: www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/Hot-trophy-triumph-traditional-tobacconist/story-12854870-detail/story.html Seems many others have bought snuff there lately.
JJ news in Helston is also quite good if you are still there.
Thanks mate but now On my way home unfortunately but I did buy this for £19.99 a pound of the stuff lol its so nice "see pic " so if anyone wants a bit let me know
Sorry forgot to add the pic
“one called torque or toque Christmas pudding or something.” Ha! This made me laugh. Congrats on the first buy. The only one on your list I have tried is Gawith Apricot which I really liked. WoS is a good maker. Never had the Christmas Pudding, but I am a huge fan of Toque generally speaking. I recommend it highly.
I second the toque, best snuff for the best price. Their site has an awesome deal, 10 tins for the price of 9. Check it out! And the Best SP is one of my favourite snuffs, I could go through that pound pretty fast lol.
