Today I picked up some Tube Rose- scotch snuff. very smoke’y as I have read from you guys. With a very good nic hit. I also picked up some american snuff co. peach sweet snuff, and I must say very very lacking in peach flavor and I am very disapointed. Also I know I am new to all this but it is so finely ground its hard not to get it all the way up. any advice on that from you guys.
If you pinch, take your pinch and don’t let it go as you sniff. Perhaps a little rubbing of your fingers back and forth instead. This should allow for minimal release of the snuff and prevent hitting the back of your throat. Repeat the process until you’ve got the desired amount of snuff. That’s what I do. nightcap.

The Peach isn’t really a peach snuff. On the can it says “Sweet as a Peach.”
Try snuffing small amounts from the back of your hand. Repeat as necessary. That always makes a fine dry snuff easier to take for me.
I use a snuff spoon and very controlled, very gentle breathing. It’s taken practice but I can now shovel heaps of even Bruton, Rooster etc up my schnozz with no coughing at all. I love the Scotches as they helped a lot in giving up ciggies and I still use them regularly to boost N levels.
Moisten your thumb and index finger. Grab a pinch of snuffand squeeze it tightly together. Breathe in, then place (rather than sniff) the snuff in your nostrils. Exhale to evacuate some of the powder from your nose.
My first American scotch was Red Seal. Heh, it was definitely not a warm welcome. I think all of it went either in my brain or down my throat. I still have to be SUPER careful when using that stuff. Actually I haven’t used any of it for MONTHS. I use more Bruton than Red Seal now that I think of it. I have an almost full 1 oz can of it. I don’t enjoy it when snuff is that difficult to take. Honey Bee is good even if you get it in your throat! I love that snuff, and I even lick my fingers after I take it… GREAT for beginners to get the scotch technique down because its very forgiving compared to say- Rooster or Bruton. Or any scotch for that matter… I heard Tube Rose is similar when it comes to sweetness.
No, Tube Rose is the least sweet of all the sweets. Its one of the few that I tolerate anymore.
@cstokes4 you are right it is “sweet as a peach” on there but being a nube the pic of the giant peach and the word kinda threw me off lol. but the tube rose is good very very smokey no sweetness to me more like a campfire. @justplainmatt I have been trying the “stuffing” method and can’t seem to get it right still working on it thoe and thanks for the advice. @jrbruckus I already mostly use the back of the hand method, but over the last couple days its gotten better. New to snuffhouse and enjoying all the convo. Just bought a pack from Mr. Snuff and I’m enjoying what I can without getting a major sinus headache after snuffing. I know not to snort it and have done ok with Toque espresso, but that Dholakia Black smells like a circus tent and gives me one helluva headthrob. Any ideas?
Don’t sniff so hard! Even sniffing just a TINY bit can send those bits STRAIGHT to your brain or throat. Toque snuffs are sorta a fine grind so it takes some getting used to. How do you take it? Pinch? Bullet? Try dropping your adam’s apple or just "snuffing from your throat, not your lungs. Just give a little *snif* to get it IN YOUR NOSE, not your sinuses. Good luck! You’ll get it soon. @bippyskid hey man I had the same problem at fist try pinching the upper part of your nose, not real’y closed but close. That realy helped me allot until I got my technique down pat, hope that helps.
yah, I think it is just the one type of snuff (Dohlaki Black), and it smells like elephant dung, so ive stopped using it. I am starting to get the hang of it now and am enjoying my Dohlaki (sp?) White. I have some Mcrystals on order and a bullet. Boy, have I had some weird looks from guys at work…actually had a guy tell me that i really should just be smoking. I don’t think Canadians have this stuff up their noses very often. Thanks for the pointers!

Good luck starting out with the D white! I started out with Peach and Navy scotches. I wiped my sinus out for weeks on that little learning curve, then went straight to a Poschls sampler! Some people got’s to learn the hard way! It is a wonder I just did not quit then and there. Good luck buddy and whatever you do keep the D white out of that bullet!
Yeah I’m from canada too and I only know of 4 other people in my city that snuff.
