My cherry cigar snuff

I roll many cigars, use lots of Nicaraguan habano, criollo 98, ct broadleaf, etc, even make some straight dark fired cigars like tuscanos. Anyway every time I cut the head and the foot it goes into a bag. I had about a quart of this stuff and ground it up, tried it right away and it was interesting but something wasn’t quite done about it. Fast forward to today and after some additional processes later and a tiny amount of black cherry and from the first test sniff a huge grin got plastered across my face. It’s already real nice. It’s essentially dark cigar with the tiniest hint of dark fired developing a few seconds later finishing with the slightest sweet hint of cherry. Reminds me of a Scotch, grind is a little drier and a little finer though. Carry on, I just was super proud of this one and had to share it with someone that could appreciate it, wife only said she couldn’t breath and ran from the kitchen while I was scorching it hehe.

A fine/dry cherry/cigar snuff sound pretty unique and awesome!  I love a good cherry snuff.  Congrats on a success - I wish one of the big snuff makers would make something that fits this description.  F&T Cherry Cigar Toast…  yeah…

You had me sold up until you said fine and dry :stuck_out_tongue: The scent sounds superb though :-bd

@snuffsahoy +1 for the tobacco DIYer-- first snuff I had was my own homegrown air-cured flue-cured Virginia tobacco. Just recently I took my cigar scraps from rolling (haven’t gotten the hang of the Cuban sandwich yet), decided to toast it up, and grind it… very sweet barnyardish, almost berry like, very reminiscent of the Indian snuffs base blends. Can definitely see how a tad bit of sweet cherry would be a nice flavoring, think I’ve got some of those candy flavoring oils from the holidays left over.

Hold the phone! … are you SmokesAhoy???

Thanks guys! Yeah, that’s me, chose that handle a long time ago on the htgt forums and it stuck. But I don’t smoke anymore, so changed it here:) I used that oil, just a dab on the finger and rubbed it on a pinch of snuff then ground it again with the rest, they’re so powerful. I was thinking it would bring out what the tobacco was already slightly hinting at. Oh and yeah fine and dry, my nose just doesn’t like coarse.

Yeah, I seem to bounce between schmalzlers and scotches, and anything in between :smiley:
I can do a fine snuff all day … but only take coarse in the morning/evenings.

@snuffsahoy             That sounds awesome !!!
